EMERGENCY DIAL 911

PRESCRIPTION DRUG ABUSE IS ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING PUBLIC HEALTH CONCERNS IN
THE U.S. & IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA

The United States is in the midst of an epidemic of prescription drug abuse
fueled by unsafe prescribing practices, lack of addiction treatment options, and
limited safe drug disposal options, among other important contributing factors.

Given that the causes of prescription drug abuse are multifactorial, the
solution to this problem will need to be similarly comprehensive.

The Central Valley Opioid Safety Coalition is a broad, cross-sector coalition
that is taking a coordinated and multi-pronged approach to comprehensively
address prescription drug abuse and ensure the health, welfare, and safety of
our communities.
