I want to take a moment to share an unexpected event that occurred at our school today and highlight the commendable response of our students and staff. Earlier today, we experienced a heating system malfunction that necessitated an immediate evacuation of the school premises. Thanks to our well-practiced safety protocols, the evacuation proceeded smoothly and without incident. Our students demonstrated exceptional maturity and responsibility throughout the process. Despite the surprise of the fire drill and the disruption to their routine, they followed instructions calmly and efficiently. Their cooperation and quick response ensured that everyone evacuated the building safely and orderly. I want to express my sincere appreciation to our students for their exemplary behavior during this unexpected situation. Their composure and readiness to follow safety procedures are a testament to their preparedness and the importance of ongoing safety drills. The Ascutney Volunteer Fire Department immediately responded. (Thank you AVFD!) They checked out the building to make sure that it was safe for students to return to their classrooms. Rest assured, the heating system issue is being addressed promptly, and measures are being taken to ensure the safety and comfort of our school community moving forward. As always, the safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority. We will continue to prioritize safety protocols and preparedness to ensure a secure learning environment for all.
