Horizon Casualty Services (HCS) is an approved New Jersey Workers' Compensation
Managed Care Organization (MCO).



Since 1996, HCS has provided results-based services to large workers’
compensation insurers and self-insured entities. Here’s what sets us apart from
our competition:

An Affiliate of New Jersey's largest health insurer.

HCS is an affiliate of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, the state’s
largest and most experienced health insurer. We collaborate closely with our
parent company to leverage provider relationships to achieve optimal agreements
and contracted rates.




Medical network: focused on musculoskeletal injuries and specifically contracted
for workers’ compensation.

Our company’s medical network of doctors and other health care professionals is
focused on musculoskeletal injuries and is not a subset of a health insurer
network. HCS’ network participants consist of board-certified initial treaters
and specialists who understand what it takes to manage workers’
compensation-related health care, starting with prompt appointments and
diagnoses, and avoiding unnecessary or early imaging studies while focusing on a
prompt, safe return-to-work.




Close collaboration with medical network participants.

Our network participants collaborate closely with HCS and our clients to respond
to inquiries and resolve issues.




Deep knowledge of network participant skills and capabilities.

Because HCS performs a high volume of medical management services, we have a
deep understanding of our network participants and their talents and
capabilities. Case managers can suggest or direct well-targeted, appropriate
referrals, resulting in improved outcomes.
