RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT


Coway’s first R&D centre was established in 1993 and a year later, production of
our very own products was carried out. The research and development is primarily
focused on delivering customer satisfaction and consumer convenience rather than
increasing profits for the company itself.

Equipped with 182 cutting-edge devices and equipment, our R&D centre was
designated by TÜV SÜD, one of the world’s leading technical service
organisations, to run self-analysis and test RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous
Substances) electrical and electronic products.

Adding another feather to the cap, our R&D centre was later certified by WQA
(Water Quality Association, USA) as a Recognized Testing Laboratory focused on
running efficiency and safety tests.

Given the trust from these established organisations, we strive to instil our
knowledge and expertise into the products and services especially for our
customers all over the world.

COWAY’S 1ST INTERNATIONAL R&D CENTRE
IN MALAYSIA




In a bid to strengthen the company’s commitment towards being the Best Life
Solution Company, Coway Malaysia teams up with one of Malaysia’s most
prestigious local institutions, Universiti Malaya (UM) with the aspiration to
continue its research in providing life-changing solutions beyond care.



MANUFACTURING PLANT

Yugu Factory

After a year of completion, the Yugu factory in Korea expanded and became the
world’s largest consumer electronics manufacturing site in 1995. Soon after, the
factory started manufacturing filters in 1997 with its high-tech Programmable
Logic Controller-based automated facility that produces 1.44million water
filtration devices annually.

"Coway is the largest indoor filter manufacturer not only in Korea, but the
world."

With a building area of 1,2859.98sqm and a floor area of 20,450.79sqm, the
factory is equipped with nine water filtration device lines, four air purifier
lines, nine filter lines and a carbon block line with an annual production of
over 20million filters, water filtration devices and air purifiers. (as of April
2016)

The factory then focused on the environment and consistency with the aim of
achieving zero waste, defects and breakdowns with the introduction of a system
that achieves zero-fault during production, an Environmental R&D Centre and
Water Analysis & Research Centre (WARC). These introductions have significantly
improved productivity and quality and at the same time, reduced costs.

FLOOD RELIEF EFFORTS 2021


Together with Food Aid Foundation, Coway visited some affected families in one
of the neighbourhoods in Klang to distribute food packs.



In collaboration with the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) we supported
MRCS to provide Coway water and air purifiers at the flood relief centres.



GUARDIANS AGAINST GARBAGE PROGRAMME




The company collaborates with EcoKnights to support environmental activities: a
series of river log boom clean-ups, picking up litter while jogging (Plogging).
This initiative also supports the maintenance and management of the CARE Station
to encourage recycling efforts.




REEF CONSERVATION

From community clean-ups to river clean-ups, Coway also extends its effort with
Reef Check Malaysia to conserve and restore corals.



WASH PROJECT

Coway also supports MERCY Malaysia’s WASH Project – Water, Sanitisation and
Hygiene which contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SGD) adopted by
Malaysia as a member of the United Nations.





ENVIRONMENT & HEALTH CAMPAIGN, CAMBODIA

Cambodia is one of the countries in the world with very poor water quality, and
is constantly suffering from water shortage and water pollution. Coway has been
proactively contributing to solve these issues and improve the people’s
wellbeing.

HAPPY WATER PROJECT

 

OUR PROMISE TO SUSTAINABILITY:

Malaysia is a country blessed in many ways: a burgeoning nation populated by
great people and filled with an abundance of resources.

Yet, home to over 150,000 indigenous residents, the heart-breaking reality is
that many of our fellow citizens still struggle with their everyday lives as a
result of the lack of resources and aid to carry out a normal living. Drought,
pollution, and difficulty in accessing clean water sources are daily challenges
these communities face - one we often take for granted.

Now with a presence in over 1 million homes across Malaysia, it is both our
responsibility and mission to ensure that no one is marginalised from using what
is rightfully theirs: clean water.

We aim to create a bridge of opportunities and possibilities for the
underprivileged to inherit what truly belongs to them. Ultimately, we strive to
enable and empower all to lead a meaningful and pure life through our Happy
Water Project.

 


AND FOR THAT, WE ARE GRATEFUL

Following COWAY Run 2018 and 2019, Coway wasted no time to work diligently to
provide potable water to the indigenous communities. To date, up to 285 families
from 15 villages in Pahang who live off poor water conditions were aided to
access clean water through Happy Water Project.

The Happy Water Project efforts were extensive to ensure that a solid foundation
in water hygiene and sanitation is instilled among the communities. This was
made possible by first understanding the living conditions of the families:
analysing electrical supplies, water sources, sanitation facilities etc.

As a staple water source, we learned that the communities rely heavily on water
from rivers or wells for consumption, cooking, cleaning, and others to conduct
their daily activities.








Hard work was also balanced with light-hearted moments when Coway volunteers
were able to learn from the local villagers to create craft work and memorable
moments – elevating the Happy Water Project experience for both the Orang Asli
and the Coway family.

 


COWAY CSR

Although many Malaysians have access to clean water to carry out their daily
necessities, there are still some of our communities face water pollution and
water shortage. For the Orang Asli community who live in remote areas, the
community must rely on the nearest water source to accommodate their daily water
needs. For many underprivileged communities, the water that they drink, cook or
clean with is unsanitary and may lead to diseases. .

We believe that clean water should be a basic human right of every Malaysian,
regardless of their status and background.

Armed with the determination to help communities in Malaysia, Coway Malaysia
gave life to Happy Water Project in 2017, its first sustainable CSR initiative
with the commitment to uplift the lives of the underprivileged and Orang Asli
communities.

WORLD’S FIRST COWAY EXPERIENCE CENTRE OPENS IN MALAYSIA


AN ARRAY OF LIFE-CHANGING SOLUTIONS ALL UNDER ONE ROOF







KUALA LUMPUR, 8 March 2021 – Coway recently launched the world’s first Coway
Experience Centre at Wisma UOA II on Jalan Pinang, right in the heart of Kuala
Lumpur. The Coway Experience Centre will take Malaysian consumers on an
experiential journey towards changing their lives with Coway’s innovative
products and services for clean water and air, quality sleep and washroom
hygiene.“The opening of the Coway Experience Centre is part of Coway Malaysia’s
15th Anniversary Celebration! To date, over seven million Malaysians are
enjoying Coway’s Life-Changing solutions, ranging from water purifiers, air
purifiers, bathroom appliances, outdoor filters and mattresses. The opening of
this centre is one of the many ways we show our appreciation to our customers
and the public for their endless support throughout the years,” said Kyle Choi,
Managing Director of Coway Malaysia during the opening ceremony last Friday, 5
March 2021.

The historical moment was initiated by Mr Kyle Choi, Managing Director of Coway
Malaysia and senior management of Coway’s Sales team and Cody team at the
opening ceremony.

“As a Life Care company, we are proud to offer Malaysians a glimpse of how
Coway’s R&D and technological solutions can help people live within cleaner and
healthier homes and work spaces,” said Choi.

Coway welcomes all to head over to the Coway Experience Centre to experience,
feel and understand more about Coway’s product and service offerings. The Coway
Experience Centre will feature a Living Care section highlighting the brand’s
offerings for the bedroom and bathroom. These include Coway’s premium
mattresses, plus washroom appliances such as Coway’s bidets and water softeners.
Meanwhile, the Water Care and Air Care sections will take on a more futuristic
ambiance, where visitors can see and experience the value that Coway’s
innovative water and air purifiers bring.

“The exciting hybrid of physical and interactive digital features at the centre
will help visitors understand first-hand how Coway’s products and services can
enhance the life of every Malaysian. As an educational platform, our centre will
showcase useful facts on water and air, plus tips for better sleep towards a
healthier you,” Choi added.

Visitors can also learn about the brand’s milestones in Malaysia and Coway
Malaysia’s excellent services delivered with care by their Coway Ladies (Codys),
Coway Technicians, Homecare Technicians as well as Health Planners. As Coway
always emphasises that great products come with excellent services hand in hand.

To enhance visitors’ overall experience, there will be various interactive
touchpoints such as quizzes, digital photo gallery, and also a Malaysian map
highlighting the villages supported by the ongoing Happy Water Project (HWP) –
Coway’s CSR initiative and many more exciting stations for a fun and enjoyable
experience.The exhibition space will also showcase Coway Malaysia’s Brand
Heritage and journey since Coway reached our shores in 2006, including its many
awards and achievements. Coway was established in 1989 in South Korea and has
grown into an international brand; also having subsidiaries in the USA, China,
Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia too.The Coway Experience Centre is
opened to the public under strict standard operating procedure (SOP) from
Mondays to Fridays (10am to 7pm) and on Saturdays (10am to 2pm). It is closed on
Sundays and public holidays.

TERMS & CONDITIONS


 1. The discount is applicable for 1-time Mattress Care Service or 1-year
    Mattress Care Service Package.
 2. This discount is not valid in conjunction with other promotions.
 3. Please enter the correct  PROMOCODE  to redeem your voucher (if any).
 4. The mattress care service shall be performed by Coway’s Homecare Technician
    (HT) to customer. The schedule (time / date) of performance of mattress care
    service is subject to availability of the HT and confirmation by Coway.
 5. The mattress care service is only applicable to spring mattresses, latex
    mattresses and foam mattresses.
 6. Coway makes no representation or warranty in respect of the mattress care
    service and excludes liability for all claims, damages, losses, costs and
    other liabilities incurred or suffered by the customer as a result of
    Coway’s acts or omissions. The customer is solely responsible for ensuring
    that the mattress care service is suitable for the customer’s mattress.
 7. Coway reserves the right to accept or reject any Customer registration if
    the mattress types or mattress condition do not cover by Coway (authorised)
    service representative after visitation.

 


COWAY MATTRESS CARE SERVICE FREE TRIAL CAMPAIGN

TERMS & CONDITIONS


 1.  Request of free trial is limited to one (1) mattress per household.
 2.  The mattress care service shall be performed by Coway’s Homecare Technician
     (HT) to customer who fulfil the requirements within three (3) months from
     the registration date of this free trial. The schedule (time / date) of
     performance of mattress care service is subject to availability of the HT
     and confirmation by Coway.
 3.  The schedule (time / date) of performance of mattress care service is
     subject to availability of the HT and confirmation by Coway.
 4.  Coway has the right to terminate or not perform the free mattress care
     service if the free trial care service is cancelled due to unforeseen
     circumstances.
 5.  If the customer relocates the Coway product outside the service coverage
     area before the mattress care service is performed, Coway has the right to
     terminate or not perform the mattress care service.
 6.  The mattress care service will only be performed provided that there are no
     outstanding payments owing by the customer to Coway.
 7.  The mattress care service is only applicable to spring mattresses, latex
     mattresses and memory foam mattresses.
 8.  The mattress care service coverage area is West & East Malaysia (except
     island or area that not accessible by car).
 9.  Coway makes no representation or warranty in respect of the mattress care
     service and excludes liability for all claims, damages, losses, costs and
     other liabilities incurred or suffered by the customer as a result of
     Coway’s acts or omissions. The customer is solely responsible for ensuring
     that the mattress care service is suitable for the customer’s mattress.
 10. The customer hereby fully understands and gives consent to Coway to
     collect, store and process any personal information for the purposes of
     receiving updates, news, promotional and marketing mails or materials from
     Coway in accordance with Coway’s Privacy Notice, the details of which can
     be found on Coway’s website at  www.coway.com.my/privacy-notice  (“Privacy
     Notice”). Coway may update the Privacy Notice from time to time and may use
     reasonable efforts to bring any significant changes to the Privacy Notice
     to the customer’s attention.
