WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

This role serves as an internal business consultant building Albertsons customer
focused strategy.  The role ensures that shopper insights and category analytics
are the foundations of our strategies and execution. You will support business
teams across all of Albertson’s categories driving our nationally strong and
locally relevant growth initiatives.

This position directly influences category go to market strategies at Albertsons
Companies… and much more! We use our boundless curiosity to discover what
consumers want, why they want it, and how we can influence them through
immersive exploration, in-depth analysis, and good research.

The key to success in this role will be your ability to combine soft skills with
analytical skills, convey research findings and drive actions with your key
business partners.  This role interacts across all locations, levels, and
functions of the organization.

We’re looking for passionate and driven individuals to join our thriving center
of excellence for category management.  This is a high potential role, with
upward mobility, competitive salary and is bonus eligible. This position can be
located in Pleasanton, California Pleasanton, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Plano, TX, Boise,
ID


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 * Mine multiple sources of internal and external data to derive meaningful
   insights (IRI, Nielsen and Customer Data)
 * Review data, identify critical information, analyze and develop hypothesis to
   make recommendations to broader audience
 * Combine analytical expertise and research to answer and deliver insights to
   the business in ways that make significant impacts
 * Communication and influence so consumer insights are at core of decisions and
   ensure you are the fact based, independent and unbiased voice in all
   conversations
 * Build analytical capabilities to grow the organizations knowledge
 * Ensure process deliverables are completed across timelines and teams
 * Engage in continuous development of the process for efficiencies and
   effectiveness


WHAT WE ARE SEARCHING FOR

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 * Preferred education is a Bachelors’ degree
 * Preferred experience is 5+ years in category management, consumer insights or
   related experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

 * Experience in Retail Grocery Category Management
 * Extensive experience synthesizing information from large data sets from
   multiple sources (internal/vendor/syndicated industry)
 * Expert knowledge in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
 * Knowledge and experience in reviewing performance data and translating into
   strategies and tactics
 * Strong communicator (written and verbal) – able to take analysis and
   communicate key findings or learnings in impactful way
 * Have experience influencing and earning the trust of senior stakeholders and
   moving business teams to take action
 * Critical thinker who is not afraid to ask questions and challenge status quo
 * Have a passion for continuously improving customer experience
 * Be a self-starter and an independent thinker who follow-ups on
   responsibilities in a timely manner while also being a strong team player
 * Possess flexibility and have a track record of delivering results in a
   fast-paced, highly ambiguous work environment
 * Positive attitude
 * Must be able to manage confidential information.
