AGENDA

 I. Regional and Nationwide Disparities in HIV Prevention and Treatment
 II. Patient Insights on Acceptability and Utility of Potential Strategies for
      Improving Engagement, Access, and Adherence to HIV Prevention or Treatment
      Services
 III. Evidence-Based Interventions and Expert Tips for Increasing Shared
      Decision-Making and Ensuring Equitable and High-Quality Care for People at
      Risk for or Affected by HIV

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 * Analyze the impact of system-, patient-, and provider-related barriers on
   access and adherence to sexual health screening and HIV prevention and
   treatment services
 * Evaluate patient-reported perspectives to inform strategies for improving
   patient engagement, access, and adherence to HIV prevention and care,
   especially among communities of color
 * Apply pivotal advances in HIV prevention and treatment to sexual health
   counseling and shared decision-making strategies to mitigate stigma and
   improve patient outcomes

 * Overview
 * CE Details & Instructions
 * Faculty Disclosures

Intended Audience: HIV prevention and treatment team members—including
physicians, NPs/PAs, pharmacists, nurses, and case managers.

The many "-isms" in community and clinical settings together with intersectional
stigma, socioeconomic challenges, and other social determinants of health (SDOH)
persist in Southern states, which bear a disproportionate burden of the HIV
epidemic in the US. In order to move the needle in ending HIV, stakeholders must
take into account the unique perspectives and lived experiences of highly
impacted racial and sexual minorities, including Black gay and bisexual men.

Take part in this dynamic discussion between HIV experts and public health
advocates as they:

 * Open a dialogue about the longstanding inequities in HIV, especially in the
   Southern US
 * Share recent survey data from the Black community regarding specific
   strategies for improving access and adherence to HIV prevention or treatment
   services
 * Discuss actionable approaches for tackling stigma and socioeconomic
   challenges to reduce disparities in HIV outcomes
