Protecting the security of your confidential financial information is a
responsibility Dart Bank takes seriously. That’s why we now offer you the added
protection of secure email for communicating with Dart Bank.

Secure email is the ONLY way to be sure your confidential information (account
numbers, tax ID numbers and financial statements) is emailed safely.

WHY SECURE EMAIL

Standard Internet email is an insecure communication channel. Standard emails
travel in “plain text” across many networks before reaching their final
destination, providing the opportunity for prying eyes to view them along the
way.

Since confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, standard Internet email should not
be used to exchange sensitive or private information such as Social Security
numbers, bank account numbers, financial statements, etc.

Secure email is encrypted so it cannot be intercepted and read in transit. And
it is delivered to a secure data center and held until you retrieve it using a
password system.


CREATE YOUR SECUREMAIL ACCOUNT

The first time you access SecureMail, you will be prompted to create an account
by supplying your email address and a password you will use each time you log
in. You’ll then be sent a confirmation message containing a link to complete the
account setup process. Simply click the link, complete the process, and you can
begin using your SecureMail account.


RECEIVING SECURE EMAIL

When Dart Bank sends you a secure email message, it goes to a secure data center
to be held until you retrieve it. At the same time, you will be sent an email
notification that a SecureMail message is waiting to be retrieved. This
notification will contain a link to a secure web site. Simply click on the link
and log in to the secure site. You can then read your SecureMail, download it to
your computer, or send a secure reply.


SENDING A SECURE EMAIL

To send a SecureMail message to Dart Bank, click on any SecureMail link on the
bank’s web site. You will be taken to the login screen where you will be
prompted to enter your email address and the password that you established. Once
logged in, you can create a new SecureMail message by clicking on the “Compose”
tab.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Security issues are of paramount importance to Dart Bank. Secure messaging
protects against card fraud and identity theft. It’s also an effective way to
conduct financial business. We have implemented these secure email solutions to
protect our customers by ensuring that all personally identifiable financial
information remains confidential.

To protect your sensitive data and comply with improved best practice standards,
all email communication you receive from Dart Bank that contains personally
identifiable financial information will take advantage of encrypted secure
email.

Dart Bank prides itself on its customer service and believes this new feature
will provide both safety and convenience to our customers.
