Voices was the subject of a massive data breach, with more than 400,000 usernames and passwords stolen from its servers. But it wasn't just Yahoo! email addresses that have been infiltrated: Gmail, MSN, Hotmail, Comcast and AOL accounts have also been hacked. (Yahoo! Voices allows you to sign in with non-Yahoo! email addresses.) Thanks to Sucuri Malware Labs, you can now check to see if your email account via Yahoo! Voices -- not Yahoo! Voice, which some media outlets have reported -- was a part of the leak. Check if your email information was compromised by clicking here. The leaked email account information first surfaced online early Thursday morning by a hacker group called "D33ds". Because the passwords were stored unencrypted, the long list of usernames and passwords were posted in text for all to see. The news comes just one day after 420,000 member accounts from social network Formspring were compromised, and a few weeks after millions of passwords were leaked online from sites such as LinkedIn, eHarmony and Last.fm. "At Yahoo! we take security very seriously and invest heavily in protective measures to ensure the security of our users and their data across all our products," the company said in a statement to TechCrunch. SEE ALSO: Yahoo Voices Hacked: 450,000 Passwords Posted Online The company said that an older file from Yahoo! Contributor Network -- which it acquired when it purchased Associated Content -- contained about 400,000 Yahoo! and other company usernames and passwords that were stolen. "We are fixing the vulnerability that led to the disclosure of this data, changing the passwords of the affected Yahoo! users and notifying the companies whose users accounts may have been compromised," the company said. "We apologize to affected users." The biggest stories of the day delivered to your inbox. Loading... Subscribe This newsletter may contain advertising, deals, or affiliate links.
