accelerating natural evolution to sustain perennial crops PROBLEM Our perennial crops are under serious threat of climate change and massive diseases. But It takes 20+ years to improve these crops with conventional breeding * COFFEE * BANANA * GRAPES The area suitable to grow the Arabica species, representing 70% of the global coffee market, will be reduced by 50% by 2050. The Cavendish variety, producing most of the 660 billion dessert bananas consumed yearly, and the cooking varieties like plantains, are devastated by Fusarium Tropical Race 4 (TR4), also called Panama disease. Mildew and other diseases are threatening global grape production and lead to intensive pesticide usage in vineyards. 90% of Bordeaux vineyards were affected by downy mildew in 2023. OUR SOLUTION By pushing the boundaries of in vitro culture, we are Accelerating the natural evolution of plants, their selection and hybridization to create non-GMO improved varieties. OUR PLATFORM We leverage on our non-GMO technology to: CREATE OUR PRODUCTS ROBUSTICA From a strong but bitter Robusta variety, we are creating the “Robustica”, a climate-resistant variety competing with the Arabica cup quality. NATURALLY CAFFEINE-FREE COFFEE From a tasty caffeinated Arabica, we are creating the first naturally caffeine-free coffee variety, eliminating the chemical and polluting decaffeination processes. IMPROVE YOUR PERENNIALS CROPS We partner with agrifood companies and research institutes to generate new and improved perennial crop varieties in a much shorter time frame.
