The budget, which was approved by Council at the March 12, 2024 County Council Meeting, reflects Council’s commitment to delivering essential services while managing fiscal challenges and fostering economic growth in the region. March 15, 2024 NEW CURATOR HIRED FOR ELGIN COUNTY MUSEUM The Elgin County Museum is pleased to announce the appointment of Madeleine Howard as its new Curator, effective April 2nd, 2024. Madeleine will succeed Mike Baker, who is set to retire at the end of March after years of dedicated service to the Museum. With a profound enthusiasm for preserving and sharing local history, Madeleine eagerly anticipates the opportunity to delve into Elgin County’s rich heritage. “I am very excited to get started in the role as the Museum’s next curator with the opportunity to showcase the many great stories relating to Elgin County’s history,” states Madeleine.
