ABOUT CONFIDENCE




People usually say that they were born to be legends, without even thinking what
it means to be a legend. 16 years ago we didn't think that CONFidence would be
this huge, but look at us now! Don’t you think we were born to be legends?

CONFidence is an international infosecurity conference that originated in 2005
in Poland. We deliver practical, deep-dive technical knowledge for infosec
specialists, developers, managers, bankers, and governmental representatives.

Every legend has to do something good for people, so it is time for us to do
something special! To celebrate our 20th edition, we decided to give you a
present!



CONFidence Online 2021 will be for free!



Unfortunately due to pandemic and some limitations, we cannot organize such a
conference as every year in the past, so we decided to go online again. For
those who want to have something special from this edition, we will prepare some
gadgets to order - available soon!

Would you like to see how we became a legend? During this edition, we will come
back to the roots! One of the tracks will be an oldschool - thanks to which, you
will come back to the beginning and watch best of the best speeches from the
very first edition till now.

 * Paula Januszkiewicz CQURE
   
   Paula Januszkiewicz is the CEO and Founder of CQURE Inc. and CQURE Academy.
   She is also Cloud and Datacenter Management MVP, honorable Microsoft Regional
   Director for CEE and a world-class cybersecurity expert, consulting Customers
   all around the world. Paula has 15 years of experience in the cybersecurity

   He has been helping the biggest Polish and foreign companies to secure
   networks and web services for 15 years. Graduate of Glasgow Caledonian
   University. He started working in the IT industry at the British department
   of Philips Electronics. Founder of Niebezpiecznik.pl, a consultancy company
   analyzing IT projects in terms of security. As part of Niebezpiecznik.pl,
   Piotr manages a team performing audits and penetration tests of ICT systems,
   and conducts trainings for administrators and programmers in the field of
   computer network protection, as well as creation of secure web applications.

 * Artur Kuliński Google
   
   Artur Kuliński joined the Google Cloud Customer Engineering team in April
   2020. He has been professionally involved in the IT industry for over 20
   years, during which he worked as a programmer, architect and manager of
   development teams. For over 10 years he has been working for the financial
   industry, both on the side of clients (including PZU, Aviva) and suppliers
   (including Oracle, Infovide-Matrix). Fascinated by cloud solutions, which he
   treats as the next, natural step in the evolution of IT. He graduated from
   the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw

 * Max "Libra" Kersten McAfee
   
   I am a malware analyst, blogger, and speaker who aims to make malware
   analysis more approachable for those who are starting. In 2019, I graduated
   cum laude from my bachelor IT & Cyber Security, during which I also worked as
   an Android malware analyst. Currently, I work as a malware analyst at McAfee.
   Over the past few years, I spoke at several international conferences, such

 * Adam Lange Standard Chartered
   
   Adam is a Head of Cyber Threat Hunting Team in Global Cyber Defense Centre
   for one of the largest global financial institution. In spare time he hunts
   threat actors, doing malware analysis and coding security tools and systems.
   Adam has an over two decades of IT and IT Security experience at offensive
   (red) and defensive (blue) side. Frequent speaker at security related

 * Pavol Luptak Nethemba
   
   Pavol Luptak is a cryptoanarchist and voluntaryist focused on technology and
   society hacking. He started his career as a computer hacker with many
   prestigious IT security certifications. In 2007 he founded IT security
   company Nethemba focused on penetration tests & ethical hacking, few years
   after, he co-founded a bug bounty company Hacktrophy. He is responsible for
   many public security projects (e.g. cracking of the most used Mifare Classic
   cards, hacking of public SMS transport/parking tickets, hack of e-Kasa). As a
   hacker enthusiast, he co-founded Progressbar hackerspace in Bratislava and
   Parallel Polis in Prague and Bratislava (hackerspaces in Prague where he is
   responsible for organizing the international cryptoanarchist conference
   focused on liberation technologies.) In addition to technologies, Pavol loves
   contemporary art as well. He became a member of the famous Czech contemporary
   art group Ztohoven which is responsible for many hacktivist contemporary
   ‘media sculpture’ projects and started with his friend the digital art
   company Satori. With the development of Parallel Polis, Pavol decided to
   achieve his vision – completely opt-out of the system. Thanks to globality

 * Jim Manico Manicode Security
   
   Jim Manico is the founder of Manicode Security where he trains software
   developers on secure coding and security engineering. He is also an
   investor/advisor for Nucleus Security, BitDiscovery, Secure Circle and
   Inspectiv. Jim is a frequent speaker on secure software practices, is a
   member of the Java Champion community, and is the author of "Iron-Clad Java:
   Building Secure Web Applications" from Oracle Press. Jim also volunteers for

   Gordon Muehl is the Global CTO for Security and Privacy in the central R&D
   business unit of Huawei. He also is the Director for the Germany team for
   Security, Privacy, Safety, Modelling and System Engineering in TTE Labs.
   During his 29 years professional career he was amongst others Chief Architect
   of SAP SE and finally the Global CTO and Senior Vice President for Security
   at SAP SE. Also he was the Global Industry 4.0 Leader for Infosys and
   managing the German business of Infosys as Country Head. Gordon has a Diploma
   in Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering, and executive MBA from Cambridge,
   UK and extended programs at INSEAD, France and Stanford, CA. He has been
   awarded 17 patents. Recently the topic of Trust and Security for Smart Cars
   is one of his focus works.

 * Ido Naor Security Joes
   
   Ido is the CEO and Co-founder of Security Joes. He’s a world renowned
   researcher with vast knowledge in Incident Response, Malware Analysis & Red
   Teaming. Security Joes are a leading company in these areas, a cyber alliance
   for the state of Israel and a frequent responsible disclosure of in-the-wild
   cyberattacks. Ido is a former Kaspersky GReAT, McAfee Labs and Cisco. Aside

 * J.R. Manes HSBC
   
   J.R. Manes is HSBC’s Global Head of Cyber Intelligence and Threat Analysis
   based in London, England. J.R. joined HSBC in 2018 after serving more than 12
   years as a Cyber Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation
   (FBI). During his FBI career, J.R. led complex criminal and national security
   cyber investigations. He received the FBI Director’s Award for Outstanding
   Cyber Investigation, the Directorate of National Intelligence’s National
   Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation, and the FBI’s Medal of Excellence for
   his investigative work against nation state cyber actors. J.R. also was a

   Michal Purzynski works for the Incident Management and Digital Forensics

   of his life’s goals is to make the bad guys' lives miserable. His ideal
   incident response is best described as “they didn’t even know what hit them”
   Michal published some code for the Bro IDS, spun up Suricata above and beyond

 * Sveva Vittoria Scenarelli PwC
   
   As a Senior Analyst in PwC’s Threat Intelligence team, Sveva focuses on
   tracking advanced persistent threats, connecting malicious campaigns across
   time, malware, and infrastructure. Sveva has previously presented at
   VirusBulletin 2020, at CONFidence Online 2020 on the Lazarus Group, and at
   CyberThreat 2019. She is a SANS Threat Intelligence Lethal Forensicator and
   named her kitten Kimsuky, so that really tells you all you need to know about
   her.

 * Jan Seredyński Guardsquare
   
   Jan Seredynski is a mobile security researcher and pentester, who also has
   over five years of experience in mobile app development. He has advised the
   top UK banks on secure architecture and anti-tampering techniques. Having
   reverse engineered and analyzed over 1,300 apps, he gave a presentation at
   r2con on the current state of runtime application self protection (RASP).

 * Bruce Schneier Security Guru
   
   Bruce Schneier is an internationally renowned security technologist, called a
   "security guru" by the Economist. He is the New York Times best-selling
   author of 14 books -- including "Click Here to Kill Everybody" -- as well as
   hundreds of articles, essays, and academic papers. His influential newsletter
   "Crypto-Gram" and blog "Schneier on Security" are read by over 250,000

 * Marcin Szydłowski IT Hub at Philip Morris

   Karen Lamb is a cyber threat intel analyst working at HSBC located in London,
   England where she researches emerging threats, reverse engineers malware, and
   develops analysis tools. In her previous role at the MITRE Corporation in the
   U.S., Karen researched applications of symbolic execution to aid in malware
   reverse engineering. She remains passionate about cyber deception, adversary
   engagement, and developing automated and scalable tools to ease the burden on
   cyber analysts and reverse engineers. When not looking at malware, Karen
   enjoys watching the Minnesota Vikings win, even though they never do.

 * Aman Sachdev VMware
   
   Aman Sachdev is a programmer at heart and information security professional
   with 8+ years of experience in the Information Security Ecosystem having
   trained over 19000 individuals to date. His love for breaking challenging
   WAFs and AVs landed him as a core member of numerous Red Teams and Security
   Engineering Teams well as being invited at numerous international security
   conferences including RSA Singapore, HITB Amsterdam, Confidence
   Poland+London, Hack Miami, Sec-T Stockholm, LeHack Paris, and numerous
   others. Aman has done his Bachelor's in Computer Applications and also holds
   an OSCP certification apart from his vast experience in application
   development, exploitation, and infra PT.

   Himanshu Sharma has been in the field of bug bounty since 2009 and has been
   listed in Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Adobe, Uber, AT&T, Avira, and
   many more with hall of fame listings as proofs. He has helped celebrities
   such as Harbhajan Singh in recovering their hacked accounts, and also
   assisted an international singer in tracking down his hacked account and
   recovering it. He has been a speaker at various conferences worldwide such as
   BotConf, CONFidence, Hack In the Box, SINCON, Sec-T Hackcon, and numerous
   others. He also spoke at the IEEE Conference in California and Malaysia as
   well as for TedX. Currently, he is the co-founder of BugsBounty, a
   crowdsourced security platform for ethical hackers and companies and,
   securathon.com. He also authored multiple bestsellers titled "Kali Linux - An
   Ethical Hacker's Cookbook", " Hands-On Red Team Tactics" and "Hands-On Web
   Pentesting with Metasploit"
