Abuse can happen in any family, at any time, no matter one’s age, sexual
orientation, level of income, or devotion to one another. Learn more about the
characteristics of an unhealthy relationship.

Leaving an abusive relationship takes a great deal of courage. Planning for
safety means knowing how to access the people, places and resources that can
help if you are the victim of violence.

COVID-19 UPDATE: JULY 13, 2021

CAS is committed to the safety and well-being of its staff, clients, and
community.

Our centres have fully re-opened. Staff continue to practice physical
distancing, masking, screening, and sanitization protocols. To ensure maximum
safety within our centres, it is recommended clients phone ahead to book an
appointment. Masks are recommended.

Our Burnaby centre is open Monday – Friday: 9-5pm.

Our Vancouver centre is open Monday – Thursday: 9-5pm.

ABOUT US

The Burnaby Safe House is a second-stage shelter for abused women and for
vulnerable pregnant women. We are a non-profit charity serving the vulnerable in
our community. All peer counselling services are provided free of charge – a
gift from individuals and the church community to those in need.

Our charity’s registration number is 13622 3971 RR0001.
