There’s a lot to see in Maryland on any given day, but every now and then the
universe surprises us with something extra special. I don’t know about you, but
something about the winter months makes me want to see a show. But if pantos
aren’t your thing anymore, there are plenty of other options to get you excited
months in advance. Take a look at our suggestions for where to scratch that
showtime itch and amaze yourself with spectacle.

Firefly 2023

Another Firefly music festival has wrapped up, and you know what that means:
time to save for next year’s ticket. Held in September, the Firefly Music
Festival turns Delaware’s Dover woodlands into a musical experience. The new
line-up has yet to be announced but with headliners for the 2022 show made up of
Halsey, Dua Lipa, My Chemical Romance, and Green Day, you know there will be
something for everyone and massive names to see. But the gig is just the start.
Snooze in your hammock in The Nook after a long night in the Silent Disco, with
a few too many Firefly Brewery Ales sampled.

Cirque du Soleil

If you love death defying actions mixed with a heavy dose of grace and beauty to
your shows, you’ll love Cirque Du Soleil. There are shows happening all over the
country, and even the world, but if you don’t fancy shelling out for a flight,
you can get tickets to the Cirque du Soleil ECHO show coming to Washington in
September 2023. There will be lots of shows running from September 6th to
October 22nd so plenty of chances to see the spins, the colors, the dancing, the
music and the magic. The ECHO show demonstrates the philosophy of evolution and
the connection between humans and animals in a show featuring impressive
spinning acrobatics.

Lior Suchard

If you like your shows a little mysterious, you should get tickets to see Lior
Suchard. The world’s greatest mentalist will leave you speechless. Made for
people who like psychological thrillers more than horror, these shows feature
not only the idea of someone reading your mind but even implanting an idea into
your mind. Watch Lior Suchard make the impossible possible in a mind-bending
show that will leave you amazed.

Baltimore Comic Con

Considered “America’s Greatest Comic Book Convention” by fans, Baltimore Comic
Con is a staple in every out and proud nerd’s calendar. Whether you love the
cosplay, the merchandise, the stars, the over-analysis that keeps you up at
night, or a mix of the lot, you’re sure to love the Baltimore Comic Con. The
2022 Baltimore Comic Con just wrapped at the end of October, tantalizingly close
to Halloween, so you can expect it to return roughly the same weekend next year.
This year featured John Leguizamo, the guy who made a career of being the funny
Latino guy in everything, like the Bruno no one is supposed to talk about, and
four Disney princesses, including Ariel, or Jodi Benson, Pocahontas, or Judy
Kuhn, Jasmine, Linda Larkin, and Belle, Paige O’Hara.
