of Mac The iPhone is far and away the most popular smartphone in the U.S.,
according to a new report by research firm ComScore. According to ComScore, 169
million cellphone users in the U.S.
Use smartphones — representing around 70 percent of all mobile users. Of these,
Apple can lay claim to 41.9 percent of users, while runner-up Samsung has
captured 27.8 percent of the market. After Samsung, the numbers drop
dramatically to 6.5 percent for LG, 6.3 percent for Motorola, and 5.1 percent
for HTC.

friends and family — or a date with a BBQ — appmakers are hoping you’ll have a
bit of time for iOS gaming over the holiday, too. I’ve written before about how
2014 is shaping up to be a for Apple users, and to make the deal a little bit
sweeter, various popular games are currently being discounted in the App Store
to give you something to play over the long weekend.

Check out our list below for the full details.
The popular 3D Mahjong Solitaire game created for the iPhone and iPad now comes
to the Mac. Play arcade-style with progressively difficult levels, or relax with
one of the non-competitive game modes. The gameplay is simple yet addictive.
Originally created for touch-screen iOS devices, Moonlight Mahjong on the Mac
takes full advantage of a multitouch trackpad, but also can be played with a
mouse. Intuitive control allows you to tilt and turn in virtual reality,
allowing you to more easily see the tiles on the board. Moonlight Mahjong on the
Mac features four types of play: Scramble Mode (the default): Make matches
faster than the automated opponent 'Tilebot' through increasingly difficult
levels. The board is automatically reshuffled when you run out of matches,
making this game mode easy (to start!) and fun.
Challenge Mode: Compete against Tilebot in full puzzle mode, with no automatic
reshuffling, only undo. Challenge requires more strategy than Scramble. Puzzle
Mode: Solve puzzle boards with no time limit. Choose any layouts you like; no
high scores.
Relaxation Mode: Clear boards with no time limit and automatic reshuffle when
out of matches. Perfect for when you're just not in the mood to strategize or
rush. Updated for OS X 10.10 'Yosemite'. Losing in Scramble or Challenge mode
now sends you back only three levels instead of five. 58 new built-in layouts
submitted by Moonlight Mahjong users New Standard Layouts (these appear in
Scramble and Challenge modes):. 'Arches' by Tlphoto (level 4).
'Aztec Ruin' by Juan (level 6). 'Bare Faced!' By Elizabeth Bygrave (level 13).
'Barn' by 'Me' (level 7).

5).
'Cafe Grande' by Mimi (level 3). 'Cale 1' by Cale (level 7).
'CandleStick' by Es Ce 2 (level 6). 'Closed Temple' by M Howard (level 7).
'Cosmic Sun' by Natalie L. New standard tile art replaces ‘Engraved Marble’ as
the default: The new standard tile art uses a much cleaner, subtler tile
texture, which makes the tile details stand out clearly. This is combined with
specular lighting and engraved detail for realism. (Note: The earlier marble
tile set is still available in the options if you prefer that for some reason.).
Completely reworked physics engine: Movement is more responsive and precise, and
includes momentum and boundary effects. Redesigned game dialogs, in keeping with
the iOS 7 version. Most game options may now be accessed through the gear icon
at the bottom right of the main view, similar to the iOS version.

Some less frequently used options are only available through the standard menu
bar at the top of the screen. You can now load custom layouts from the Moonlight
Mahjong Layouts blog: Follow Moonlight Mahjong on Facebook for notices: (It is
not yet possible to create new layouts in the Mac version. It is on the list of
things to do.). Improved help documentation: The documentation is now a single
page, which is easier to browse and navigate. Improved Alphabet tileset using
the Helvetica Neue font, with tile texture and engraved detail. Using the Night
Tiles tileset now darkens the background, for better use at night.
Reworked application icon. Many miscellaneous bug fixes and minor improvements.
Mac OS X 10.8 “Mountain Lion” or later is now required. The state of the art in
iOS and Mac OS X programming has advanced in the time Moonlight Mahjong has been
around, and it is important for a number of reasons to try to keep up.
So, behind the scenes, the programming code has been cleaned up extensively,
requiring the later OS version. If you have an interest in space and

Support for high resolution graphics on the MacBook Pro with Retina Display.
Proper full screen support on OS X 10.7 'Lion' and later. When you lose in
Scramble mode, the 'Try Again' button goes back only 5 levels, instead of all
the way back to level 1 (assuming you made it past level 6).
The 'Lion Scramble' and 'Dragon Scramble' game modes are replaced by 'New Game -
Level 10' and 'New Game - Level 20' menu options, once you've reached 100,000
and 300,000 points in Scramble mode. This amounts to the same functionality as
before, but is perhaps clearer. A 'New Game - Level 30' menu option is enabled
once you've scored 600,000 points in Scramble mode.
You can now use the space bar to quickly pause or unpause game. Added an option
in Preferences to turn off free tile highlighting, for those who have asked. You
are encouraged to keep tile hightlighting turned on; it is part of the game.
Fixed an issue where the app would crash on startup if certain system fonts were
disabled. Support for OS X Sandbox security.
Please note: two early user reviews for version 1.1 claim something has changed
in the trackpad or mouse handling or something like that. As far as we know
these reviews are simply incorrect; nothing has changed in the game's controls.
Over 100,000 people have updated to Moonlight Mahjong 1.1, and no one has
contacted us directly with any concerns in this area.
Please keep in mind that the hundreds of earlier user reviews and star ratings
for version 1.0 are not immediately visible on the App Store. Please consider
updating your review or rating after updating to version 1.1. Your positive

Have enjoyed it for a long time. Difficulty increases and you go up in levels
and it is a true 3D set up - on my mac trackpad, I can rotate the set of pieces
in all directions to find those hidden behind the front ones. Also using the
trackpad gestures, I can make the set larger or smaller to help with viewing
more pieces at once easier on the larger sets. This game has cleverly set up a
mini version of the set in the top right corner being played by the computer
(called tilebot) and you are to solve it before computer does. When you fail one
level, you get sent 3 levels behind. One of the past updates had changed the way
the pieces were picked up using my TRACKPAD on mac laptop (I have seen some
complaints about it in reviews).
It was very annoying not being able to pick up a piece easily till I figured out
the update had actually improved it. The pieces were picked up when the cursor
hovered over the piece for a second and NO CLICKING IS REQUIRED. Once you do it
for a little while, you develop a rythm and the play goes faster then clicking.
At the bottom right of the screen, there is a very small wheel where you can
customise the game to your liking. My only complaint would be, that I would like
to see more contrast between the pieces available to play and the inactive ones.
It would make a big difference at the higher levels where speed is of the
essense.

with the reviewers about this game being addictive, and that the 'variable
speeds' are exasperating. The same game is sometimes at a 'do-able' rate and
other times it is at a 'super-player' rate. I wish there were a 'speed control'
where I could set the speed of the game to be just a little beyond my skill
level. On the other hand, when I get peeved at the super-player rate, I stop the
game and go do something else.
