DATA CAPTURER

TB HIV Care - Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Contract | Data Capturing


PURPOSE

 * The role of the data capturer is to correctly capture HIV and TB data into
   the monitoring system(s) as per the DCS programme requirements, and ensure
   timeous data submissions as per the principles of the THC M&E framework, and
   the M&E policies and procedures for the DCS and DoH. (This is a contract
   position renewable based on funding)


REQUIREMENTS

 * Grade 12 / Matric
 * 3 years’ experience with HIV, AIDS and STI programme data
 * Certificate in computer programmes including MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and
   database software
 * TIER.Net and information management background
 * Proficiency in English and isiZulu/any local language
 * Clear criminal record

RESPONSIBILITIES

 * Responsible for the capturing of all HIV /TB information from primary and
   secondary source documents onto the required M&E reporting systems in a
   timeous and accurate manner.
 * Ensures the timeous submission of data to the Regional Data Monitors and
   follows the principles of the standardised HIV/TB Monitoring and Evaluation
   SOPs.
 * Maintains excellent communication with HAST Counsellors and Health Managers
   to ensure timeous and accurate submission and sign off on data.
 * With the support of the Regional Data Monitor conducts routine audits and
   data quality checks.
 * Ensures systematic daily filing of patients’ inmates records including blood
   results
 * Regularly attends data verification meetings with the various Correctional
   Centres.
 * Maintains signed off copies of all monthly and quarterly data submission
   reports.
 * Maintains and adheres to the Confidentiality Policy of patient/inmate
   information for DCS, DoH and THC.
 * Responsible for communicating any challenges and or data collection/capturing
   issues to the Data Monitor as soon as they occur.
 * Documenting of daily activities and reporting of those activities on a
   monthly basis to the Data Monitor
