OVERVIEW

I am a professor of Linguistics at the University of Maryland. My work focuses
on formal semantics and its interfaces with syntax and pragmatics, mostly in the
domain of modality and attitude reports. I am particularly interested in how
these systems are constrained in natural language, and how children acquire
them.
