You receive a message that says, “Executive Order 9066 has just been signed. You
will report to your designated camp immediately.” You log into the Minecraft
History Craft server and teleport to the Manzanar War Relocation Authority (WRA)
camp. You are joined in your Minecraft camp by other students from your school.
Students from other areas will simultaneously be incarcerated in one of the
other camps as you all await further news about how to proceed in the
simulation.



WHAT IS HISTORYCRAFT™
HistoryCraft™ is an immersive, transmedia, multiplayer simulation that allows
students to internalize the experience of Japanese Americans living in World War
II incarceration camps.

The simulation takes place inside a Minecraft 3D world that contains replicas of
each of the 10 WRA camps, each of which is populated by student groups from 10
different schools, libraries, or other educational organizations.

HistoryCraft™ is designed for middle and high school students to learn about the
Japanese American incarceration experience and the various civics and humanities
themes related to this history.

HistoryCraft™ is 100% free and is supported by a grant from the California Civil
Liberties Public Education Program.

SCHEDULE

 * Launch in February 2025
 * Duration: 10-12 weeks
 * Time Commitment: Approximately 3-6 hours per week

REGISTRATION

We are signing up teams of 4-8 students at 10 schools, libraries, or other
educational organizations to participate in HistoryCraft™.
