It's a big relief for me to finally get this diagnosis and hopefully start to
feel somewhat normal for the first time in my life. Maybe ADHD diagnoses are
finally getting streamlined on the NHS? Did I just get extremely lucky based on
where I live? I don't know exactly but I hope for all waiting that it's the
first. I went and discussed with a doctor for about an hour the typical
assessment stuff, thinking that I would then get referred to a more ADHD
specialized place, but he diagnosed me then and there! In January, I received a
letter to be seen at the local mental health facility for today (Feb 28th) but
without details of what it was actually for. A couple months passed and I
received a call out of nowhere from someone who discussed with me in more detail
my symptoms and how it affected me (about 45 minutes). After a brief phone call
with them they were able to refer me to the areas mental health services. So I
saw my GP who immediately told me to call something called "talking therapies".
Never got around to getting officially diagnosed with this, even by though I
knew I probably had it (Inattentive type ADHD)Īround July/August I decided it
