SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

 * Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit).
 * Disk Space: At least 6GB free.
 * Dependencies: Requires .NET 8 runtimes (you will be prompted to install them
   if not already installed).
 * Hardware:
   * A fast CPU is beneficial.
   * Nvidia GPU with CUDA support is highly recommended for better performance.
     If you have a CUDA-enabled GPU with sufficient VRAM, you can install CUDA
     for acceleration.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

 * aiMultiFool is simple and portable, requiring no complex installation
   process. It comes in a ZIPPED folder.
 * To get started:
   * Download the ZIP file (~190MB).
   * Extract the contents by right-clicking and selecting “Extract.”
   * Run the file named aiMultiFool.exe.
 * Security Note: If Windows Defender SmartScreen blocks the program:
   * Click “More Info.”
   * Select “Run Anyway.”
 * On first launch, the software will automatically download the default AI
   model (~4.7GB).
 * While waiting, you can refer to the Quickstart Guide for further information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY IS AIMULTIFOOL AI SO SLOW WHEN LOADING CHARACTER CARDS AND REPLYING?

 * Performance with GPU: If you have an Nvidia GPU that supports CUDA and the
   CUDA toolkit installed, all rendering is handled by the GPU. With an
   8-billion-parameter model, this process is incredibly fast—faster than you
   can read responses in real time.

 * Performance with CPU Only: If you don’t have a CUDA-enabled GPU and rely
   solely on your CPU, the performance will be significantly slower. To improve
   speed in this scenario, you’ll need to use a smaller model, such as a
   3-billion-parameter model. You can download a 3-billion-parameter model from
   the File menu.

 * Comparison of Models: Smaller models, like Llama 3.2 (3b), are surprisingly
   capable and comparable to Llama 3.1 (8b) in many tasks, making them a viable
   option for CPU-only setups.

 * Example Performance: For reference, an Nvidia 3060ti GPU processes AI tasks
   about six times faster than a 12-core Ryzen 9 CPU. A high-end GPU like the
   Nvidia 4090 would deliver exceptional speed.

WHY DOES AI GET CONFUSED ABOUT WHICH ROLE IT’S PLAYING IN MY SCENARIO?

When letting AI guide you to create a scenario using the Card Tools Action Menu,
when asked to enter ‘first_mes’ (the first thing you say), don’t skip it. This
ensures you are the protagonist in the scene. Example ‘barman, give me a whiskey
please’

WHY AFTER CREATING MY CUSTOM SCENARIO JSON DO THE BUTTONS TO EXPORT / PLAY NOT
ENABLE?

On occasion a JSON won’t be valid due to the AI being lazy, goto Card Tools /
Fix Character Card JSON to regenerate and fix. Generally this is not a issue if
you have a freshly loaded model and new chat, however, once AI is confused it
can be hard to get it back on track.

FASTER WAY TO MAKE AND EDIT CHARACTER CARDS WITH AI AS YOUR ASSISTANT?

Use a small 3b parameter model (like the one available in File menu). Do all
your creation with this, save it out, then load the card into a bigger model to
play it.


ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Dan Bailey, and I’m from Bournemouth, UK. By day, I work in IT, but
coding has always been a passion of mine. Some of my past projects include
EmotiPad, SmileyPad, and MSFS Aircraft Pinner. While I’ve primarily been a
Visual Basic coder, transitioning to C# for aiMultiFool with the help of
ChatGPT-4 has been seamless and incredibly enlightening.

Although aiMultiFool may seem straightforward, it’s built with around 5,000
lines of code. One of the biggest challenges was learning how to decode and
encode metadata in SillyTavern PNG Cards. Initially, I relied on third-party
tools for this functionality, but now it’s implemented natively within
aiMultiFool.

The app is still in active development, I have lots of plans for it. I hope you
enjoy using aiMultiFool as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it. Feel free to join
