Alcor, introduced in Paku pt. 2, is an entity enveloped in blinding light,
symbolizing misplaced faith and deception, inspired by Plato’s allegory of the
cave.

The song delves into the paradox of finding it harder to see when the light is
too bright and the struggle to distance oneself from it. These themes reflect
our shared human experience of doubt and inner conflict.

PAKU PT.1


MHELA’S LATEST E.P.

Paku is the first chapter of an ambitious project by the metal band Mhela,
titled “Paku Paku”. This EP includes six tracks, each centered on an imaginary
character whose story reflects real experiences of the band members: memories,
personal struggles, and inner conflicts.

The opening track, Falling Kids, acts as a prologue for the EP. Each song
explores a different perspective, revealing a common thread that connects all
the stories. Through these characters, MHELA examines human duality, capturing
the tension between light and shadow in the search for authenticity.

BIO

MHELA is an Italian alternative metal band. The band’s lineup features Erick
“Steve Low” as the lead vocalist, Simone Lucchini on drums, Mattia “Il Clone”
Giannini on bass, and Andrea “Zucco” Zucchini as the guitarist and backing
vocalist.

They published their first EP, titled “ES“, in 2018, and it is characterized by
strong symphonic and alternative rock/metal influences. In their following
projects, the band added more aggressive elements from metalcore and industrial
genres.

Bands such as Korn, Trivium, System of a Down, and Slipknot affect their sound,
but their vocal lines preserve a shade from pop-rock music. Their lyrics deal
with issues like nightmares, fears, anxiety, frustrations, and other
psychological problems that impact the current generations.

The language choice depends on the mood and sound of the songs and varies
between English and Spanish. MHELA’s debut single “Night with Spirits” was
released in 2018, accompanied by a music video accessible on platforms like
Metal Hammer and Metal in Italy.

A few days later, they published “ES”, a completely independent album, recorded
in “La Tana del Lupo“. This EP received good reviews from different magazines.
In 2019, the band released the single “Falling Kids” which was a turning point
in their sound and anticipated their next project. In 2023, “Paku pt.1” was
released, together with singles “Osiowy”, “Borges” and “Maca”.

During the summer of the same year, the band released a lyric video for their
single “Buio”, also taken from “Paku pt.1”.


SHOWS

Throughout their musical career, MHELA have had the opportunity to share the
stage with numerous prominent artists from the Italian music scene, both in the
metal genre and beyond.

Among the most notable names are Trevor, the iconic frontman of Sadist,
Underthebed, Let Them Fall, Amber Town, Moderntears, Necrodeath, and Genus
Ordinis Dei. However, their experience has not been confined to the metal world,
including collaborations with artists such as Pier Paolo Capovilla e i Cattivi
Maestri, Esterina, and Requiem for Paola P.

These encounters have significantly enriched MHELA’s artistic journey,
strengthening their presence in the Italian music scene. Performing alongside a
diverse array of artists has enabled the band to grow artistically and develop
an increasingly broad musical vision.

The energy MHELA bring to the stage, combined with their ability to adapt and
connect with different styles, has established them as an ever-evolving force,
ready to explore new musical horizons and leave their mark with charismatic and
engaging performances.
