ESA? ESA Academy is running a 4-day #CubeSat workshop for engineering and
physics students in February 2024 at its Training and Learning Facility in
Galaxia, Belgium. In the workshop, you will learn about real-life concurrent
engineering practices, which make designing a mission more efficient, and get

Matthew, a Space Systems Engineer who joined RHEA Group after finishing his
Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering. Matthew had an unforgettable start
to life at RHEA when he joined last year, helping implement the ground

We enjoyed three days of fascinating keynote speeches, sessions, user
consultations and technology demonstrations at EU Space Week 2023 in Seville,
which ended this afternoon. Topics covered agriculture and forestry,
sustainability, climate and biodiversity, transport infrastructure and
resilient societies, while there were also updates on the entire #EUspace
programme including applications using Copernicus, EGNOS and Galileo, and
developments around GOVSATCOM, IRIS2, Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and
Cassini. Thanks EUSPA - EU Agency for the Space Programme. We are already

images from Euclid! RHEA is proud to support the Euclid mission
through coordination of activities in the #Euclid Scientific Archive System,
which distributes data from the mission to the scientific community. RHEA’s
experts are jointly responsible for the development, maintenance and
operations of the archive system, together with the maintenance and
operations of the Data Processing System that runs at the European Space

Euclid's first images are here ✨ Today, our Euclid space mission reveals its
first full-colour images of the cosmos. Never before has a telescope been
able to create such razor-sharp astronomical images across such a large patch
of the sky, and looking so far into the distant Universe. These five images
illustrate Euclid's full potential; they show that the telescope is ready to
create the most extensive 3D map of the Universe yet, to uncover some of its
hidden secrets. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eSXrQWrW 1️⃣ 1000 galaxies belonging to
the Perseus Cluster, and more than 100,000 additional galaxies further away
in the background, each containing up to hundreds of billions of stars, many
of these were previously unseen and some so distant their light took 10
billion years to reach us. 2️⃣ The Horsehead Nebula also known as Barnard 33
and part of the constellation Orion. In Euclid’s new observation of this
stellar nursery, scientists hope to find many dim and previously unseen
Jupiter-mass planets in their celestial infancy, as well as young brown
dwarfs and baby stars. 3️⃣ Our next image shows the ‘Hidden Galaxy’, also
known as IC 342 or Caldwell 5. Thanks to its infrared view, Euclid has
already uncovered crucial information about the stars in this galaxy, which
is a look-alike of our own Milky Way! 4️⃣ This first irregular dwarf galaxy
that Euclid observed is called NGC 6822. Most galaxies in the early Universe
don’t look like a neat spiral like our own, but are irregular and small. They
are the building blocks for bigger galaxies like our own, and we can still
find some of these galaxies relatively close to us. 5️⃣ Euclid’s view on a
globular cluster called NGC 6397. This is the second-closest globular cluster
to Earth, they are collections of hundreds of thousands of stars held
together by gravity. Currently no other telescope than Euclid can observe an
entire globular cluster in one single observation, and at the same time
distinguish so many stars in the cluster! #ESAEuclid #FirstImages

Manager, Nicolas Ramponi, as part of leveraging business opportunities
between the two countries. As well as explaining RHEA’s main activities and
development strategy for Luxembourg, Nicolas showcased the European Space
Agency - ESA INT-UQKD project (End-to-End International Use Cases for
Operational #Quantum Key Distribution Applications and Services) that RHEA is
leading. #INTUQKD is using hybrid space and terrestrial fibre networks to
field a testbed capability, deploying two pilot use case demonstrations
between sites in Luxembourg, Belgium (Redu) and Singapore to prove QKD can
secure existing civil and defense applications. The collaboration between
Luxembourg and Singapore on this project illustrates the potential for
further cooperation between the two countries in a highly technological
field. The mission coincided with the Space Forum which took place which took
place on 31 October, during which the Luxembourg Space Agency CEO, Marc
Serres, and the Office for Space Technology & Industry, Singapore (OSTIn)
Acting Executive Director, Ronald Tong, signed a Memorandum of Understanding
to strengthen their commitment to advancing the peaceful use and exploration

Space is high on the agenda next week with three major events taking place in
