If you work as a guardian (first response, health care, death care, social
services), your job is both incredibly important and emotionally exhausting. And
while there is a lot of chatter out there about taking good care of your mental
health, sometimes it’s hard to know what the hell that actually means.



Are you feeling the strain? Have you stopped laughing the way you used to? Are
your relationships strained or dull? Do you dread going to work? You aren’t
alone, all of those are common outcomes of doing work that serves others.

ONE STEP AT A TIME.

Mental health services can be daunting. Who can you trust? Where do you start?
How does therapy actually work - and will there be crying and hugging? We get
it, and our mission is to make it easier. So we’ve taken thousands of hours of
clinical work and research and turned it into a program that is straightforward
and tailored to the specific needs of someone that does your job.

STEP 1: GET HONEST WITH YOURSELF.

How often are you telling yourself to suck it up and tough it out? Are you in
the trap of feeling like you’re being weak or dramatic? That’s a sticky damn
trap.

The first step it to take a moment of honest assessment. Use our free and

STEP 2: LEARN THE BASICS.

There are some important things that we don’t learn in the school or the
academy. How to talk to our spouse about what happened today. How to manage the
grief and trauma you see. What moral injury is and how to spot it.

After getting honest with yourself, it’s important to spend some time with the
basics. We have a combo of free live and on-demand trainings to help.

STEP 3: MASTER THE FUNDAMENTALS.

Managing your mental health isn’t magic - it’s a system of tools, skills, and
habits. Just like everything else you do, it takes some practice.

We’ve taken everything that we’ve learned and turned it into an online training
that teaches you exactly how to build a plan. Not just any plan, but one that is
specific for your job, your circumstances, and your personality. You can also
take the course with your significant other to help strengthen your relationship
skills.

STEP 4: SUCK IT UP AND CALL FOR BACKUP.

Asking for help is THE WORST. If you would rather get a root canal than ask for
support, we totally get it. But we all need an assist at some point.

If you are feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, perhaps it’s time for a little
backup. Our coaching program builds on the skills in the online training, with
expert guidance. Shannon will walk through the process with you, helping to
identify the habits and patterns that might be getting in your way. She will
work with you to build a plan that meets your specific needs, and if you know
that there is some deeper clinical work that needs to be done, she can help you
make a plan for how tackle it.

Guardian work can also be brutal on relationships. If you want to strengthen
your connection with your partner, our relationship coaching package includes
both individual and relational guidance.

STEP 5: CHASE THOSE TRAUMA DEMONS.

Ugh. Trauma. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just ignore it? Tuck it in a tiny
box in the back of our mind and allow it to disappear?

If that’s what you’ve been trying to do, you know it doesn’t work. Trauma leaves
a mark. Sometimes subtle, sometimes completely life-altering. If you know the
trauma is there, but aren’t sure what to do about it, let’s chat about EMDR.
