Why are you being asked to do this? * The No Surprises Act (“NSA”) was signed into law as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 on December 27, 2020 and took effect on January 1, 2022. Included in the NSA are requirements addressing provider directories which are designed to protect consumers and improve the accuracy of provider directories. Failure to reply to this request may result in additional requests. 1Updates in the VerifyHCP Portal will not affect your contract status with participating payers; you will need to contact their contracting departments to add practice locations or provide W-9 in case of TIN updates. *CMS requires quarterly updates for Medicare Advantage, while individual states have varying requirements on directory data update frequency.
