WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL!

We are extremely proud of our pupils and staff who all work hard every day!

Our staff all build good relationships with our pupils using a restorative
practice approach to ensure Wickersley Northfield Primary school is a safe and
happy place for teaching and learning for all our pupils.

The school values of child-centred, collaboration, curiosity and challenge are
at the heart of our whole school curriculum and everything that we do.  The
pupils work collaboratively, learning and supporting each other to maximise
their achievements.  We embrace new learning and promote curiosity in all
learning activities, always striving to improve and develop pupils’ knowledge.
We set our pupils aspirational targets and provide challenge and support to
ensure we get the best out of all our pupils.

We all recognise the value and importance of reading in our school.  We have
developed two amazing library areas that we are proud of, which help us to
continue to promote the importance of reading and developing a love of reading.
All pupils are also read to daily from our planned high quality class texts.  We
ensure the pupils hear and have access to books that enable them to reflect on
their own realities as well as to develop empathy and an understanding of how
others may live.  Our aim is for all our pupils to be able to engage in
purposeful book talk with their peers and other adults.

All our pupils are exposed to rich vocabulary and language on a daily basis in a
vast array of different contexts and lessons.   

We hope that you enjoy looking at our school website and we hope it shows off
the great work that is being accomplished by our pupils and staff.

 * Children In Need 2023
   £186 was raised for Children in Need. Thank you to everyone that donated.
 * Eco Day 2023
   We raised £174 For Dig Deep on our school Eco Day. Thank you to everyone who
   supported!
 * Red Nose Day 2023
   £228.17 was raised for Comic Relief. It was great to see everyone in school
   wearing their favourite colour. Thank you to everyone who donated to this
   great cause!
 * HappinessB4Hate Campaign
   Our School Council have worked hard to launch a campaign against Hate Crime
   which has been shared with a number of Rotherham primary schools.
