Port: There's a way we could have property tax and income tax cuts
"If we reformed North Dakota's income tax code now, freeing most of the state's
workers from paying it, and delayed a property tax reduction plan until we could
use the Common Schools Trust Fund to pay for it, we could have the benefits of
both without putting our state's fiscal stability at risk," Rob Port writes.

Port: Don't buy into the impending prohibitionist scare campaign against
legalizing marijuana
Port writes: Marijuana is already everywhere. It's in your city. It's in your
neighborhood. People you know are already using it. It's time to end the costly,
pointless charade of trying to prohibit it.

Port: North Dakota's two largest farm groups set aside differences to oppose
term limits
“We felt it important to voice together our concerns about this measure,” said
North Dakota Farmers Union President Mark Watne in a statement his group
released jointly with the NDFB. “At Farmers Union, we have longstanding policy
that opposes term limits because they are a limitation on the rights of citizens
to choose and elect their public officials. Term limits also put more power into
the hands of professional lobbyists and career bureaucrats.”

Port: Republicans are against abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or
political expediency
Why should anyone believe Republicans when they talk about things like values

Port: Sadly, public figures receiving crude messages isn't exactly news
I hate that Cara Mund has been abused in this way, but it's not a problem
specific to her, nor does the news help voters decide who would best represent
them in Congress.

Port: Supposedly 'independent' U.S. House candidate Cara Mund is fundraising
with Democrats again
There sure are a lot of liberals and Democrats working very hard to elect to
Congress someone who claims she would vote for Republican leadership there.
Don't actions speak louder than words?
