OUR STORY

Like all true modern romances, our story began on Bumble during the pandemic.
After talking for a month we finally had our first date, which lasted hours and
famously ended with a side hug from Steven and a freak out from Kim thinking she
had completely misread a wonderful date. We had one more date before
Snowpocalypse hit Texas and the state shut down, and our third date was a joint
birthday celebration where Steven taught Kim how to shoot and Kim took Steven on
a wine train ride.

A two-year long-distance relationship began, with each weekend spent driving the
four hours to spend time together. Families and friends were introduced and
instantly accepting. Horizons were expanded with Kim learning to love country
music and starting to eat Mexican food, and Steven getting a history lesson in
pop culture from the 90s on and being introduced to how wonderful Disney trips
can be. Most importantly. we learned how deeply we loved each other and how we
knew this was our forever person.

Kim's new job gave us the opportunity to finally be together in one city, and
our Houston chapter began. We survived buying and building a house, living with
each other, learning a new city, and starting new friendships together. After
Kim's initial hold on when Steven could propose, another year went by with
everyone wondering when Steven would make his move. 3.5 years of being together
brought us to August 18, 2024, when Steven successfully kept Kim in the dark
until the last minute, proposing during a beautiful sunset. Neither of us could
imagine a better person to share a life with, and we are eagerly awaiting
everything that's to come.




WEDDING PARTY




NICOLE

MAID OF HONOR

Nicole and Kim met when they both moved to Austin in 2017, and they have been
best friends ever since. Both are Jersey girls, AOII sisters, and have a flair
for the dramatic at times. They survived the Austin dating scene together, and
Kim is so excited to have Nicole by her side for this next step!




KIMBERLY

BRIDESMAID

The other half of Kim Squared, Kim and Kimberly met their freshmen year at
Rollins College. They both joined AOII, they were roommates, and they helped
each other get through to graduation. They have stayed friends through the years
and distance, and Kim was even a Bridesmaid in Kimberly's wedding. Kim is
excited to have Kimberly in her wedding now!


ASHLEY

BRIDESMAID

Ashley and Kim met in 2019. They've had many adventures together, from out of
state trips to random nights around Austin. Ashley also let Kim live with her
for 2 weeks when Kim's apartment lost water! She has been an amazing friend, and
Kim is very excited to share another adventure with her!




AMANDA

BRIDESMAID

Amanda is Steven's sister. Kim has enjoyed getting to know her at family get
togethers, especially when they share a look across the room after a silly
Steven comment. Amanda has also introduced Kim to Houston Astros games and
Brazilian steakhouses! Kim is excited to have a Schroeder on her side for this
special day.


ERIC

BEST MAN

Eric is Steven's twin brother and they met in 1992. They spent the next 32 years
convincing others that they are different people, despite having similar hobbies
and working for the same company multiple times. Steven is pretty sure that at
the wedding it'll be more obvious who is who.




CONNER

GROOMSMAN

Conner was a coworker of Steven's after moving to Dallas. They quickly became
friends after bonding over shooting, cars, and a mastery of all things
mechanical. They have many stories, mostly good - but it doesn't hurt to pad
that number with the wedding.


HUDSON

GROOMSMAN

Steven and Hudson met in 2014 as part of the same programmer new hire class
after graduating college. Soon thereafter, they both formulated plans to take
over the world with a then newfangled creation called cryptocurrency. In the
ensuing decade Steven and Hudson have worked together on countless projects,
with world domination on hold until after the wedding.




DANIEL

GROOMSMAN

Daniel is Kim's brother, and Steven had the opportunity to celebrate his wedding
some time after meeting Kim. Family is important to both Steven and Kim, and
Steven is honored to have Daniel join for his wedding.

It is approximately 20 miles/30 minutes from the hotel.
