CONFERENCE
Overall, everything was very well run. We not only stayed in the hotel, but

POORLY RAN AND MAINTAINED
I asked to upgrade my internet speed for pay and was told it’s impossible.
The fridge in the room was impossible to open. The toilet leaked. There
were dust balls on the furniture and receipts on the floor from prior
guests - so nobody really vacuumed. The food for the conference was never
enough for all attendees. The internet in the conference was sporty and low
speed. Regretted I picked this hotel for my stay

OVERALL A NICE PROPERTY BUT LEFT WITH A BAD TASTE
Overall a nice 7-night stay. Welcoming, upscale lobby and public spaces.
Rooms on the small side but well furnished providing all the comforts that
I expect of a Sheraton except for a mini fridge that is only installed upon
request. Moreover, I had a beautiful view. Swimming pool was quite nice as
was the lounge. Some issues with servicing the room but nothing crazy.
Bonvoy Platinum status was acknowledged but at no point I felt staff went
beyond - refusal to switch my room from a two-double to a king even felt a
bit petty given there was plenty of availability and there was no rate
difference between the two room types. I felt really upset though about the
treatment by the doormen. From the day we arrived they were quite pushy
about arranging our transportation back to the airport. On the day of
departure, I asked the doorman to arrange a taxi and he promised to do so.
After he loaded my suitcases on the car that arrived, it became apparent
that this was not a taxi and the doorman told me he would not get me a taxi
even though he had previously promised me to do so. Given the time pressure
to arrive at the airport in time I relented but felt really scammed. I
ended up paying almost three times as much as I had paid for the taxi from
the airport when I arrived. I certainly left with a bad taste about the
service offered at this hotel.

RUDE SERVICE, MEDIOCRE HOTEL
The hotel is fine, but being shouted at by the staff member to "Next time,
put your name on the reservation" over and over again after I had told him
multiple times that I did and showed him my reservation with my name on it
was not a good way to start. Apparently, when my roommate got there they
forced her into joining Bonvoy in order to get internet access and when
they did that, they took my name off the reservation so that I could not
get into my room when I arrived. I was then promptly yelled at several
times for what was clearly not my mistake. The next day, when I spoke to
the manager about this, she was lovely and promised more training for the
staff, but it doesn't excuse the very disrespectful treatment. The room was
not fully cleaned when we got in there, the toilet barely flushed, and the
plumbing was so loud it would wake me up when the neighbors took a shower.
Otherwise, a fine stay :)

I stayed at the Sheraton for a conference. Room size was good, comfortable.

A VERY COMFORTABLE PLACE TO STAY IN DOWNTOWN CHICAGO
The Sheraton Grand Riverwalk is one of my favorite places to stay in
Chicago, because it's very comfortable and convenient, the staff is very
helpful and gracious, and the public areas are nice. It's especially good
for Marriott Bonvoy Members because of the Club Lounge. On the negative
side, the hotel rooms are very nice, but in need of updating, the hotel bar
should be a lot nicer, and the Club Lounge could have better food and
beverage offerings.
