     Mponua Rural Bank Limited was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1963
     (Act 179) on 18th January, 1983 and licensed by Bank of Ghana under the
     then Banking Act, 1970 (Act 339) to commence Banking business at Amuana
     Praso – the headquarters of the Bank on 16th September 1983.

179) ON 18TH JANUARY, 1983 AND LICENSED BY BANK OF GHANA UNDER THE THEN BANKING
ACT, 1970 (ACT 339) TO COMMENCE BANKING BUSINESS AT AMUANA PRASO – THE
HEADQUARTERS OF THE BANK ON 16TH SEPTEMBER 1983.

The establishment of Mponua Rural Bank Limited idea was spearheaded by Opanyin
Kwaku Anin – Deceased, Nana Gyamua Amuana I - Queen mother of Amuana Praso, Nana
Ahenkora Marfo II – Krontihene of Amuana Praso and Mr. S. L. Ofori- Owusu –
First Board Chairman of the Bank.

Mponua Rural Bank grants GHc1,120 loans to customers

The Mponua Rural Bank at Amuana Praso in the Birim North District, granted loans
and over drafts totalling GHc1,120.690.00 to its customers last year, as against
the GHc816,075.00 granted in 2007.
