WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“Each speaker was intentional on keeping the “strategic” message in their
presentations. Well done”

Conference Attendee

“It was a very engaging day and the presenters gave time to the audience to
interject their experience. Very well paced”

Conference Attendee
9th Annual Strategic Internal Communications - East

“Being in a room with like-minded individuals who are facing the same challenges
is very reassuring and helpful to all come together and forge a path forward!
Love hearing the solutions that work for others and learning things I can bring
back to our organization. Logistically – it’s also amazing to be in a nicely
sized hotel that can accommodate our meeting space but be small enough to run up
to the room etc if you need to. I love the size of the conference, too. Feels
small enough that you get to know folks but large enough that multiple
industries and challenges are shared and it’s a diverse Group.”

Conference Attendee

“Kevin Finke is wonderful and did such a nice job engaging the audience and
keeping the event flowing. The venue and food also are top-notch. Just an
amazing overall experience.”

WORKSHOP D: HOW SYSTEMS, STRUCTURE AND GENERATIVE AI CAN TAME INFORMATION
OVERLOAD & RENEW EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

Ann Barlow, EVP + Chief Engagement Officer | Peppercomm

Jackie Kolek, Chief Innovation Officer | Peppercomm

Key Details:

 * Companies made significant technology investments at the onset of the
pandemic, which were highly effective in connecting employees with one
   another and their employers.·
 * Now, with more employees returning to on-site work, employers are using a
hodge-podge of systems, structures and technologies, rather than adjusting
   for a new dynamic.
 * Organizations can still leverage technology and systems to engage employees,
even those not tethered to screens all day, but they must do a better job of
meeting employees where theyare, both physically and mentally.·
 * A combination of generative AI-driven tailored communication, greater
investment in communication training for managers, and a reexamination and
remix of current approaches cantransform not only the effectiveness of
contemporary company communication, but also employee sentiment toward the
   companiesthey work for

In this session, Ann Barlow and Jackie Kolek will explore how employers can
leverage systems and structure to ensure their internal communications are
deliberate, effective, and well-received. They will provide specific strategies
for communication and people & culture leaders to prevent employee and manager
disengagement, frustration and turnover, and ensure allemployees feel valued and
heard

BRINGING THE EMPLOYEE VOICE TO HEALTHCARE

Rachel Medanic, Engagement Strategist | Rachel Medanic Communications

Alan Flippen, Assistant Vice President for Communications and Content | Mount
Sinai Health System

Giving employees a way to communicate broadly outside of their immediate team is
often uncertain territory for large organizations that aren’t used to the
real-time employee voice or traditionally have only an annual employee survey.
Health care professionals at Mount Sinai Health System embraced channels for
peer-to-peer recognition in ways that created positive impacts for the average
employee’s feelings of connectedness and belonging. Stephanie Ramos, Director of
Internal Communications at MSHS leads a team that was supported by a formal
champion program and change management strategies from Rachel Medanic, an
internal communications consultant that gave significant results that continue
to compound.

In this session attendees will learn:
