FRAUD ALERT: DOCUSIGN SCAM

The Comptroller's office warns taxpayers about a fraudulent scheme involving
DocuSign and individuals electronically impersonating agency personnel.


TAXPAYERS AFFECTED BY HURRICANES HELENE AND MILTON

Out-of-state taxpayers affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton are eligible for
an extension to pay Texas taxes. See our Disaster Relief Information webpage for
more information.


FRANCHISE TAX NOTICES - OCTOBER 2024

Form 05-211, Texas Notice of Intent to Forfeit Right to Transact Business

If you recently received this notice, you failed to meet 2024 franchise tax
filing and/or payment requirements. You may have filed an extension to Aug. 15,
2024, but failed to request a second extension or file your report. You must
file your 2024 franchise tax report and 2024 Public Information Report or
Ownership Information Report, and pay any tax and late filing penalties and
interest due. Learn how to resolve this issue and ensure your franchise tax
account is current.

Form 05-212, Texas Notice of Forfeiture of Right to Transact Business

If you receive this notice, you failed to meet franchise tax filing and/or
payment requirements. As a direct result of the forfeiture of the right to
transact business, the entity's officers, directors, partners, members or owners
will be liable for certain debts of the entity (including taxes, penalties and
interest) incurred after the due date of the report and/or payment. Also, the
entity will generally be denied the right to sue or defend in a court of this
state in accordance with the law. Learn how to resolve this issue and ensure
your franchise tax account is current. If your entity's annualized total revenue
for the 2024 report year is at or below the no tax due threshold of $2,470,000,
you are not required to file a return, but you still must file either a Public
Information Report or an Ownership Information Report. See Changes to No Tax Due

SALES TAX BUSINESS LOCATION NOTICE

Sales Tax Filers Business Location Validation

Sales tax filers, please validate the business location address shown on your
permit to ensure local tax is being accurately reported. Collecting and paying
the correct local tax rate is your responsibility. Inaccurate local tax
collection could cost you money. If your business location address is not
correct, please let us know by completing the Move or Add a Business Location
form.
