Job Description: Job Title Head Trainer or Assistant Trainer Job Status Full or
Part Time Description Create and execute training plans for the dogs and puppies
owned by MBD, MBD customers (refer to website for training levels offered) and
guardians when staying at MBD for boarding or training following puppy pick day.
Board and Train Levels of Training will also include a one hour session with the
new owner so they may learn how to continue the training at home. Creating a
functional daily schedule for MBD employees and new owners to follow based on
the puppies/dogs needs. Training/Mentoring direct reports on how to become
certified trainers. Oversight of employees reporting to you at all times
Employee reviews quarterly and annually with goals Teach commands to the
dogs/puppies and owner(s) Being patient with a stubborn dog, never using
physical punishment or yelling/shouting to achieve goals. Maintaining
professionalism at all times and ensuring employees are maintaining
professionalism at every level Create dog/puppy groups based on size/safety
Experience High School diploma or GED equivalent Professional level of training
certificates and education from basic obedience to service dog training Drive
and Passion to further your canine training education and staying current on new
information Knowledge of dog commands Knowledge of relevant dog breeds Knowledge
of differences between in-tact dogs and sterilized dogs History of dog ownership
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, employees and managers Ability
to create a plan of action for new owners and employees Ability to work well
with dogs and humans of all ages Ability to identify problems including medical
problems Paid or Volunteer Paid Pay Scale Based on experience and qualifications
