Magazine USA

10 Magazine USA is set to launch in September 2023. It will be published twice a
year and will focus on fashion, contemporary art and beauty.  The following
editorial staff has been announced:


 * Dora Fung as editor in chief. She was previously the interim fashion director
   at The Cut/New York magazine. Before that, Fung was market director at Yahoo
   Style and market and beauty director at CR Fashion Book.
 * Bifen Xu as managing editor. She was most recently the publishing audience
   development manager at McKinsey & Company and before that worked for Yahoo
   for seven years and launched the Yahoo Style vertical in 2014.
 * Celia Ellenberg as beauty director at large. She joins the staff after nearly
   eight years at Vogue, where most recently she led the beauty and wellness
   category in the Americas. Prior to that, Ellenberg was a senior beauty editor
   at Style.com.
 * Maura Egan is now travel editor at large. Most recently, she served as editor
   in chief of PRIOR and before that worked as executive editor at Departures
   magazine, deputy editor at The New York Times, and lifestyle director at
   HuffPost.
 * Diana Tsui is now digital editor. She has been a creative consultant since
   2021 and before that worked as editorial director at MedMen and senior market
   editor at The Cut.

Jason P. Dinh is the new climate editor at Atmos. He will report, commission,
and edit stories about climate, culture, creatures and environmental justice.
Dinh spent the past several months as associate editor of Eos at the American
Geophysical Union, and before that spent several years as a National Science
Foundation graduate fellow at Duke University.  

The New York Times has added a deputy editor and a correspondent to its National
Desk team: 

 * Joining as a deputy editor for the National Desk of The Times is Henri
   Cauvin. He is now editing coverage of crime, legal issues, immigration and
   the Mid-Atlantic. Cauvin has most recently been a senior editor at
   ProPublica.
 * Michael Corkery will also cover crime and public safety as a correspondent
   for the National Desk. Corkery has been with The New York Times since 2014 as
   a reporter and spent over eight years and a half at The Wall Street Journal
   before joining The Times.

The Athletic has announced a new leadership team and structure to help deliver
the news to sports fans: 

 * Lisa Wilson is now responsible for culture, opinion and talent development as
   an editorial director and will aim to attract the best journalists in the
   business but also make sure everyone has an opportunity-filled career.
 * Moving into the new position of editorial director is Paul Fichtenbaum.
   Fichtenbaum will oversee investigative, enterprise and standards and help to
   uncover and expose abuse, misconduct and discrimination in the sports world.
   He has been with The Athletic since 2017 when he joined as a chief content
   officer.
 * Leon H. Carter has added editor at large duties but will also continue to
   work with the talent and development team. Carter will also develop and
   managed the first internship program that will launch in 2024. His work
   experience also includes ESPN, New York Daily News, Newsday Media Group and
   Louisville Courier Journal. 

Skift has welcomed Lex Haris as managing editor. He joins the travel industry
site from CBSNews.com, where he was vice president of editorial for four years
but left the position in early 2022.  Before that, Haris was the executive
editor of Money and Investigations at CNN and prior to that worked as senior
editor at Money Magazine and Institutional Investor.

Cheyenne Ligon has joined Pensions & Investments as a business of money
management reporter, with a focus on BlackRock, the world’s largest asset
investment manager. Most recently, Ligon was a U.S. regulatory reporter at
CoinDesk and had worked for the outlet since 2021.

CNN Business has recruited Luciana Lopez as managing editor. She joins the
network from USA Today, where she was deputy managing editor of politics and
elections since early 2022. Before that she was a project editor at USA Today
and a segment producer at MSNBC.  

Bloomberg News has added two news reporters based in California: 

 * Now part of the power weather climate and natural disasters team, Michelle Ma
   is covering clean technology as a reporter for the news service and will be
   based in Los Angeles in mid-June. Ma was previously a climate technology
   reporter at Protocol.
 * Eliyahu Kamisher is now covering all things California as a reporter at
   Bloomberg News. He was a transportation reporter from November 2021 until he
   joined Bloomberg News at The Mercury News and East Bay Times. 

Marina Perelman has been promoted to vice president of news at KNBC-TV (NBC) Los
Angeles. She has been the assistant news director for KNBC since 2019 and has
also served as managing editor and executive producer for the station’s 11 p.m.
newscast. Perelman started with NBCUniversal Local in 2005 as the producer of
the 11 p.m. newscast at KNTV in San Jose.

KVEA-TV (Telemundo) in Los Angeles has tapped Miguel “Mike” Gaytán as vice
president of news. Previously, he was the vice president of news for Telemundo
20 (KUAN) in San Diego. Before that, Gaytán worked at Telemundo Arizona for five
years and held newsroom leadership roles including VP of news and news director.

KPRC-TV (NBC) in Houston, Texas, has promoted a manager and added two anchors: 

 * After 18 years with the station as a news producer, Erica Young has been
   promoted to the position of manager of news special projects and producer
   development. Prior to joining KPRC-TV in 2005, Young spent four years and a
   half at KPLC-TV (CBS) in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as a News producer and
   executive producer.
 * Candace Burns has officially been named the 4 p.m. newscast co-anchor. She
   joined the station in March 2023 after spending the last eight years and a
   half as an evening anchor at WTVR-TV (CBS) in Richmond, Virginia.
 * Justina Latimer joined as a traffic anchor on May 1st from WSMV-TV (NBC) in
   Nashville, Tennessee. Latimer was a reporter at WSMV-TV from March 2021 until
   she joined KPRC-TV and previously was a traffic anchor at WDVM-TV (Nexstar)
   from 2016 until 2018.



Media Moves at NPR, CBS News & New York Post, Barron's Hires Senior Economics
Reporter

May 26, 2023 

Hugh Dougherty has joined the New York Post as deputy news features editor. Most
recently, he was a digital media consultant and before that spent nearly seven
years at the DailyMail.com as executive editor. Dougherty has also served as a
supervising producer for DailyMailTV and as assistant editor at MailOnline
before that.

Entertainment Weekly has hired Shania Russell as a news writer. She has been an
entertainment freelance writer since 2020 and has contributed to Paste Magazine,
WhatToWatch, ButWhyThoPC, and Film Daze. Prior to that, Russell was a news
writer at SlashFilm.com and a podcast producer at SPNN.

Variety has announced a new addition and a promotion:

 * Stephen Rodrick has joined the outlet as chief correspondent and will write
   long-form features about Hollywood, movies, TV shows, and notable figures in
   the entertainment industry.  He joins Variety after spending the past decade
   as a writer at Rolling Stone. His work has also appeared in The New York
   Times Magazine, The New Yorker, and Esquire.
 * Jem Aswad has been promoted to executive editor, music and will lead all
   music content across digital, print and live media platforms. Aswad has been
   at Variety since 2017, when he joined the staff as senior music editor. Prior
   to that, he served as senior editor of Billboard and editor in chief of SPIN.

Emma Balter has been appointed editor in chief of Houstonia Magazine. She joins
the outlet from Chron.com, where she was the food editor since early 2022. Prior
to that, Balter was a features reporter at the Houston Chronicle and before that
contributed to Condé Nast Traveler, Food & Wine, Eater, PureWow, Chowhound, Hop
Culture, VinePair and more.

Samantha Rollins joined Insider as the deputy editor of entertainment on May 15.
Rollins previously held the same role with Bustle from September 2020 until she
took over her new role with Insider. She also worked at New York Magazine, The
New York Times and The Week.

W Magazine has brought over Matthew Velasco to its team as a news writer and he
will be covering fashion, style, celebrity, and pop culture for the title's
website. Velasco arrives from CNN where he has been an editorial contributor
covering beauty and grooming for over a year.

Josh Wood is The Courier-Journal's new watchdog & news reporter on their
enterprise and investigation team. He previously also worked for another
Louisville-based newspaper, The Leo Weekly, as a staff writer. Wood’s article
also appeared in The Washington Post, The Guardian, Louisville Magazine, The New
York Times, Al Jazeera, The Christian Science Monitor and The Independent. 

Forbes has tapped Jennifer Aldrich as social media editor and will oversee the
social strategy for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram at Forbes Vetted,
the title's shopping vertical. She was most recently the social media editor at
Dotdash Meredith and prior to that worked at Hearst Magazines as digital
editorial assistant.

JP Mangalindan has joined People magazine and People.com as a senior writer and
focused TV-related stories, interviews, news and features. He joins the outlet
from Insider, where he was an entertainment correspondent for two years. As a
freelance writer, Mangalindan has written for Bloomberg Businessweek, dot.LA,
TechCrunch (Extra Crunch), and other.

The Chicago Sun-Times has appointed a new business editor in Subrina Hudson.
Hudson previously spent almost four years at the Las Vegas Review-Journal and
her last role with the media was also a business editor. She also worked at CSQ,
Orange County Business Journal, The Real Deal and the Los Angeles Business
Journal just to name a few.

Thornton McEnery is the latest addition to the newly launched The Messenger and
will be covering hedge funds and other money managers in his business
journalist role. He arrives from The Daily Upside where he spent the last eight
months as an executive editor. McEnery’s work also appeared in MarketWatch, New
York Post, Dealbreaker, Crain’s New York Business and many more. 

Barron’s has tapped Megan Leonhardt  as senior economics writer. She was
previously a senior reporter at Fortune and before that covered money as senior
reporter for CNBC. Leonhardt has also worked at Money magazine and Penton Media.

Ariana Perez-Castells has joined The Philadelphia Inquirer as a general
assignment reporter on the Business Desk. Most recently, she was a reporting
intern on the Health & Science team at The Wall Street Journal, and before that
served as a breaking news fellow at The Texas Tribune.

Flavia Krause-Jackson has been promoted  to executive editor at Bloomberg News
at the London bureau. She oversees economics and government coverage in Europe,
the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Krause-Jackson has been at Bloomberg
News since 2002 and has held many editorial positions. Most recently, she was
the managing editor for U.S. government coverage in the Washington bureau.
Before that, she was managing editor for political coverage of Western and
Eastern Europe, based in London

CBS News has recruited Alisa Wiersema as a politics producer. She spent the past
decade at ABC News in  a variety of producing positions, most recently as
politics producer out of the network's Washington, D.C., bureau.

Cheryl Corley has been named Midwest bureau chief at NPR. She has been a
reporter and correspondent for NPR for 28 years, covering all varieties of
stories from her home base in Chicago. She’s also been heard as a regular
substitute host for "All Things Considered Weekends", "Morning Edition," "Tell
Me More" and "News and Notes." 

Bloomberg Television has named Arielle Berger senior producer for “The David
Rubenstein Show." She has been a news desk editor at the network since 2021 and
before that sent nearly four years at CNBC, including a year-and-a-half as the
creator and showrunner of "CNBC After Hours."

Ashley Sutton has been promoted to morning co-anchor for KABB-TV (Fox) in San
Antonio, Texas. She will deliver the news alongside Ernie Zuniga and
meteorologist Brad Sowder during the 5 - 9 a.m., and 11 a.m. news hours. Sutton
joined the Sinclair Media Group San Antonio stations of Fox 29 and News 4 San
Antonio WOAI in 2009 as a producer.

CNN has promoted Kaanita Iyer to associate writer for CNN Politics, upped from
associate producer, politics. She joined CNN in 2021 as a news associate and
before that served as a breaking news intern at USA TODAY. She has also
previously interned at CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time."

A week after moderating the town hall with former President Donald Trump,
Kaitlan Collins has been announced as CNN’s new 9 p.m. show anchor. The show
will officially launch later this summer in June. Collins had been a chief
correspondent and co-anchor on “CNN This Morning”.

WNDU-TV (NBC) in South Bend, Indiana, will bring back the award-winning
journalist Joshua Short as an anchor on “16 News Now”. His first day will be on
June 5th. Short previously worked as a news anchor for the station from May 2017
until October 2021 and he most recently was a news anchor at KDVR-TV (Fox) in
Denver, Colorado.

WNBC-TV (NBC) in New York has announced the promotion of two anchors, effective
mid-June: 

 * Previously a weekend news anchor, Gilma Avalos will now handle co-anchoring
   duties during the week for the 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. newscasts. Avalos will also
   appear on “News 4 New York” at 1 p.m. exclusively on the NBC New York News
   streaming channel. 
 * Rana Novini will take over Avolos’ role as the weekend news anchor and will
   lead the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts. Novini joined the station in April
   2016 as a general assignment reporter.



Media Moves at Yahoo News, The Boston Globe & Science News, Jalopnik, CalMatters
Announce New Top Editors

Yahoo News has promoted Lauren Johnston to executive editor. She will
lead Yahoo’s team of journalists across news, entertainment and lifestyle, while
overseeing the creation and implementation of the strategy for original content
to expand into new audience segments and deepen engagement. She joined Yahoo
News in 2014 and most recently served as head of programming. Before that, she
was at the New York Daily News, where she worked for more than five years in
various roles, including deputy managing editor for digital and digital
editorial director.

Vincent Perella is now social media and culture editor at IndieWire. His
promotion comes nearly two years after he joined the outlet as social media
manager. Prior to IndieWire, Perella was a digital editor at ODDA Magazine, an
assistant strategist at The New York Times, and an intern at VICE Media.

CalMatters has appointed Kristen Go editor in chief. Go joins the staff from USA
Today, where she was vice president and executive editor for news and
initiatives since 2022. She has been a reporter and editor at major journalism
organizations across the West including the Denver Post, the Arizona Republic,
and The San Francisco Chronicle.

Fashion Dives has hired Laurel Deppen as a fashion and apparel reporter and will
be covering the business side of the fashion industry. Previously a reporter at
Louisville Business First, she also interned at GeekWire, The Charlotte
Observer, Courier Journal and TechRepublic.

Jaclyn Palermo is now a senior fashion editor at HearstMade. Palermo has been
with Hearst Fashion Group since June 2019 as a freelance fashion editor before
moving to the position of accessories editor. Prior to that, she was a content
editor at Quiet Storm and also spent over four years at Condé Nast’s Glamour
Magazine.

One of the largest automotive news and opinion sites covering anything related
to cars Jalopnik has appointed a new editor in chief in Rory Carroll. Carroll
actually rejoins Jalopnik as he held the same title between 2020 and 2022.
Before returning to the media, he was the editor and publisher of Autoweek. 

Andrew Brinker has joined The Boston Globe’s business team as a housing reporter
and will also cover the cost of living in Boston. Brinker had been a business
intern for the past year and also held the title of weekend correspondent for
the metro section and co-op on the Express Desk since he joined the newspaper in
June 2021.

The Los Angeles Times has announced the addition of Jeremy Childs to its team as
a night reporter on their breaking news team, the Fast Break Desk. Childs spent
the last six years and a half at Ventura County Star where he also was most
recently a general assignment reporter. His articles also appeared in The
Occidental Weekly and FEAST Literary Magazine.

Nicole Avery Nichols has been appointed the new executive editor of the Detroit
Free Press. She has been with the newspaper since 2000 when she joined as a
features writer and was, since 2019, the senior news director of current affairs
and entertainment. Nichols is an experienced journalist who began her career in
1993 as a features writer at the Utica Observer-Dispatch. 

Ryan Gould has been promoted to chief U.S. correspondent with Mergermarket and
will now oversee mergers and acquisitions in North America. Gould joined in
August 2019 as a reporter covering mergers and acquisitions in Europe before
moving into a senior reporter position in April 2021.

Chelsea Emery has been named executive editor at Staffing Industry
Analysts(SIA), a division of Crain Communications. In this role, Emery will lead
the development and execution of SIA’s news and editorial products, including
daily, weekly, monthly digital and print coverage. In her prior two roles before
joining SIA, Emery was editor in chief at The Expert Press and editor in chief
at Financial Planning Magazine. 

Bloomberg News has tapped Nadia Lopez as a reporter covering California policy
stories about the environment, politics, energy, health and other topics. She
spent the past year as a reporter at CalMatters and covered environment and
climate policy. Before that, Lopez reported for The Fresno Bee.

Stacy Elliott is now the markets editor at Dercypt and the main host of the "GM
from Decrypt" podcast. She has been on staff at Decrypt since 2021 as a senior
writer and before that covered crypto for Crypto Investor and TheStreet.

Bloomberg Law has hired two new reporters to its team: 

·       Shayna Greene is now an energy litigation reporter with the media after
spending almost two years and a half as a digital producer over at POLITICO.
Greene’s articles also appeared in Planet Forward, Newsday Media Group and
MediaFile just to name a few.

·       Also joining is Drew Hutchinson as a reporter and will be covering
energy and environmental litigation. She arrives from the Nashville Business
Journal where she was a commercial real estate reporter since October 2020. 

Bloomberg Opinion has named Howard Chua-Eoan as their new senior columnist based
in London. Chua-Eoan previously was the international editor of Bloomberg
Opinion and also was the deputy editor and managing editor of Bloomberg
Businessweek. He spent 20 years at Time magazine, including almost 13 as the
news director.

Cassie Martin has been promoted to deputy managing editor with Science News.
Martin has been with the magazine since March 2016 when she joined as an
editorial assistant. She was previously a science writer for the now-defunct
Ocean at MIT and a staff science writer at The Wildlife Society. 

CNBC in Singapore has hired Clement Tan to be their Asia-Pacific senior
correspondent. Tan’s most recent media job was with Bloomberg News as the China
Correspondent from May 2014 until May 2016. He also worked at Thomson Reuters,
The Los Angeles Times and interned at The Atlantic back in 2009.

Chandler R. Duster has been promoted to race and equality reporter at CNN. She
previously was a breaking news reporter at CNN Politics from August 2019 until
April 2023 and covered agriculture, justice, Congress, White House and
campaigns. Before joining CNN, Duster spent over three years with NBC News where
she held the roles of reporter, associate producer, interim managing editor and
news desk assistant.

KVUE-TV (ABC) in Austin, Texas, has named Travis Sattiewhite as their new news
director and will begin on June 5. Sattiewhite arrives from NBC affiliate
WVIT-TV in West Hartford, Connecticut, where he spent the last year and a half
as the station’s assistant news director. 

Miranda Kennedy is now the executive producer of Vox’s flagship daily news
podcast and radio show, “Today, Explained” and will lead its editorial team.
Kennedy comes from NPR where she spent seven years and a half, most recently as
an editor leading their international teams developing true crime episodic
podcast series for NPR.

Wisconsin Public Radio has announced Mallory Cheng as their new midday host and
news producer for its new podcast “Wisconsin Today.” Prior to joining the media,
she was a producer at NPR station WUWM-FM in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Daniel Murphy has been named a commerce writer for Today.com. Murphy began as a
contributing writer in October 2020 before joining the team full-time as an
associate editor in April 2021. 

KMVT-TV (CBS) and KSVT-TV (Fox), the sister stations in Twin Falls, Idaho, have
welcomed Eric Walters as general manager. He starts June 12 and is currently
wrapping up his duties as the news director of WDBJ-TV in Roanoke, Virginia.
Before that, Walters was the news director at WBTW-TV in Myrtle Beach, South
Carolina.

David Kaplar has been hired by WTVG-TV (ABC) in Toledo, Ohio, as news director.
He joins the station after spending the past five years at WOWT-TV (NBC) in
Omaha, Nebraska, as news director. Kaplar has also held top newsroom positions
at WEWS-TV (ABC) in Cleveland, Ohio, and WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pennsylvania.



Media Moves at Yahoo Finance, HuffPost & Guardian US, Los Angeles Magazine Names
New Top Editor

Los Angeles Magazine has named Shirley Halperin as its next editor in chief. The
veteran journalist will join the magazine on June 15 after spending the past
seven years as the executive editor for music at Variety. Prior to that,
Halperin was the news director at Billboard and the music editor at The
Hollywood Reporter.

HuffPost has promoted Kevin Robillard to senior politics editor. He was
previously a senior political reporter at the outlet, a position he has held
since joining the staff in 2018. Prior to that, Robillard covered Senate and
gubernatorial races at Politico for seven years as campaigns reporter.

Lauren Williams has been appointed deputy editor for race and equity at the
Guardian US. She will lead editorial coverage on race, identity, and inequality
across all teams and desks in the Guardian US newsroom and starts on May 30.
Williams joins Guardian US following a five-year tenure at The Atlantic, most
recently as a senior editor where she launched a vertical dedicated to the
complexity of American identity. Prior to that, she was a fellow at the Nieman
Foundation for Journalism at Harvard, and before that was the features editor
for Essence.

Vivian Jones is now a state politics and government reporter at The Tennessean.
Jones previously held a similar position at Main Street Media of Tennessee as a
government reporter for over two years. She also worked at The Center Square and
WORLD Radio.

Sally Holmes has joined InStyle as their new editor in chief. Holmes previously
spent over five years at Marie Claire; first as a digital director from February
2018 until September 2020 and then as the editor in chief from September 2020
until April 2023. Her articles also appeared in ELLE Magazine and New York
Magazine.

The Washington Post as announced that Sarah Ellison has taken the new role of
national enterprise reporter. She will now focus on the intersection of
democracy, politics, and media. Ellison has been a staff writer at The Post
since she joined in January 2018.

Christi Calucchia will now handle senior commerce editor duties at Prevention
and will oversee the shopping guides and product roundups in the health, fitness
and wellness sections. Calucchia spent the last year at Shape.com as their News
Editor. 

New York Daily News has added Téa Kvetenadze to its team as a real estate
reporter. She was most recently freelancing as a stringer for The New York
Times. Prior to joining The Times, Kvetenadze was a breaking news reporter at
Forbes and an editorial intern at POLITICO in New York.

Dympna Ugwu-Oju has been hired as a K-12 editor at EdSource, a nonprofit
journalism outlet. Ugwu-Oju was previously the senior editor of Fresnoland Lab
at The Fresno Bee, a platform focusing on reporting news at the intersection of
housing, water, neighborhoods, and inequality. 

Bloomberg News announced that Julie Fine will be joining as Texas’ bureau chief
on June 5th. The Emmy-award winning journalist spent the last ten years at NBC
5, co-hosting “Lone Star Politics” and reporting on state-wide and national
events.

The Messenger has made more announcements and adds two new editors as it is
gearing up to launch: 

 * Ciro Scotti has joined the news startup as a business and finance editor.
   Scotti most recent media role was deputy editor of The Americas at Reuters.
   His work also appeared in The Fiscal Times, BusinessWeek, and Bloomberg
   Businessweek.
 * Also joining is Tom Lowry and he will handle business senior editor duties.
   He spent the last four years as the editor in chief of Skift, a website he
   joined in March 2018 as a managing editor. 

Crain's New York Business has tapped Mario Marroquin as as a real estate
reporter; he started May 1. He has covered real estate at Markets Group and
NJBiz, and in a freelance capacity for The Real Deal and the San Diego Business
Journal, among other publications. Before that Marroquin was a New York state
economy correspondent for USA Today.

Diane King Hall has joined Yahoo Finance as an anchor and reporter. She joins
the outlet from CBS News, where she was a correspondent and fill-in anchor for
"CBS Morning News" since 2017. Prior to that, King Hall reported for Spectrum
and CNN.  

SportsBusiness has welcomed Jonathan Rest as global sports reporter. He spent
the past two years as head of content at TransferRoom, and before that spent 11
years at Sportcal writing about all facets of the sports business sector.


Bloomberg Government has added one analyst and one reporter to its team in
Washington, D.C.: 

 * On April 24, Cooper Lohr joined as a legislative analyst. Lohr previously was
   writing posts and reports for the American Road & Transportation Builders
   Association (ARTBA). 
 * Also joining the media during the last week of April was Omma Seddiq as a
   Technology Policy Reporter. Before joining Bloomberg, she spent almost three
   years at Business Insider where she was a politics fellow, a junior politics
   reporter and a politics reporter.

Meg Marco will now handle executive editor duties at Wired in New York. Marco
had previously been the editor in chief of the Observer for almost two years.
Her articles also appeared in ProPublica, Axios, The Wall Street Journal,
Consumer Reports and Gawker Media.

Anthony Antoine will join KRIV-TV, the Fox station in Houston, Texas, as an
anchor. He starts in July and will co-anchor the evening news alongside Caroline
Collins. Most recently, Antoine was the morning news anchor on WWBT-TV in
Richmond, Virginia. He worked in Virginia for five years and before that spent
six years at WCIA-TV in Champagne, Illinois.

NBC-affiliate station KRIS-TV in Corpus Christi, Texas, has brought over Clara
Benitez as an anchor and reporter. Benitez returns to Texas as she spent nearly
three years between 2018 and 2021 at Nexstar Media Group. She previously was a
reporter with Fox affiliate station KSWB-TV in San Diego, California.

Phil Reed has been named co-anchor at KHBS-TV and KHOG-TV both in Fort
Smith-Fayetteville, Arkansas. On the ABCs affiliated stations, he will be seen
and heard during the weekday morning newscast. Reed has been with the stations
as a reporter since August 2022.

NBC-affiliate KPNX-TV in Phoenix, Arizona, will officially add Allison Rodriguez
on May 15 when she will be joining as a co-anchor on “Today in AZ”. Rodriguez
arrives from the ABC-affiliated KNXV-TV in Phoenix, Arizona, where she has been
a news anchor for the past three years. 

KCRG-TV, the ABC affiliate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has welcomed Danielle Wagner
as an anchor and reporter. She joins the station from WEAU-TV in Wisconsin,
where she was an evening anchor since 2015. Prior to that, Wagner reported for
KWWL-TV in Eastern Iowa.

Erica Hill-Rodriguez is the new news director at KTLA-TV, the CW station in Los
Angeles. She was previously the VP and news director at Fox Television Stations
and before that spent more than a decade leading stations owned by Tribune
Media.

Isabel Rosales has been promoted to the position of national correspondent at
CNN based in Atlanta. Rosales was a newsource correspondent since she joined CNN
in Washington in April 2021. She also worked four years and a half as a news
anchor and crime reporter at the ABC-affiliated station WFTS-TV, in Tampa,
Florida.

NBC affiliate WNDU-TV in South Bend, Indiana has appointed Gary Wordlaw as the
news director of the station. He will take on his new role on May 22nd. Wordlaw
has over 35 years of experience in broadcasting with the largest local
television markets and also won numerous awards.

John Ehrhart has been named the new news director of WGME-TV in Quincy,
Illinois, an NBC affiliate station. Ehrhart had been the interim news director
at KGWN-TV in Cheyenne, Wyoming, from September 2022 until January 2023. 



Media Moves at Washington Post, CNN & MorningBrew, Multiple New Additions to The
Messenger

Kayla Cobb has joined TheWrap as senior TV reporter. She previously spent nearly
eight years at the New York Post, most recently as senior reporter and producer
for Decider. Before that, Cobb reported for MECLABS, where she wrote B2B and B2C
stories for MarketingSherpa.com.

V Magazine and VMAN have recruited Savannah Sobrevilla as editor, where she will
work mostly on print.  Previously, Sobrevilla was the editorial manager at Diane
von Furstenberg and before that had stints as a copy writer at Mood Fabrics and
The Edge360.

Three new reporters have joined The Washington Post: 

 * On April 10, Samantha Chery joined The Post as a breaking news reporter.
   Chery has been with the newspaper since June 2022 when she joined as a
   features intern and then moved on to be a multiplatform editor. Her articles
   also appeared in The Lily, Andscape and South Florida Sun Sentinel.
 * Herb Scribner also joined on April 10 as a breaking news reporter. He arrives
   at the newspaper from Axios where he spent the last year as a reporter.
   Before Axios, Herb spent eight years at Deseret News as an entertainment
   reporter and editor. 
 * After spending the last three year in a half as an assistant editor, Mikhail
   Klimentov has been appointed an afternoon & evening editor on the foreign
   desk. Before joining the media, he was an associate editor at Atlantic 57.

The Boston Globe welcomed Sean Philip Cotter as a reporter focusing on the
city’s police department. Cotter was previously a reporter at The Boston Herald
covering politics and city hall. His work also appeared in The Patriot Ledger
and The York Dispatch. 

Lizzy Briskin is the new print food editor at Food Network Magazine, where she
will covers food news and products, recipes, and reported culinary features. She
joins the team from Real Simple, where she was a food editor for a little over a
year. Briskin is also a freelance writer, chef and recipe developer and her work
has appeared in Runner's World, Simply Recipes, Popular Mechanics, and more.

The Messenger has announced they have brought over nine reporters from Grid, a
digital media company based in Washington, D.C., The Messenger bought in March
2023:

 * Joshua Keating is now a global security reporter with the media. He
   previously held the same title with Grid from September 2021 until April
   2023.
 * Also coming from Grid is Lili Pike and she is joining as a China reporter.
   Her work also appeared in Vox, Inside Climate News and China Dialogue.
 * Mariana Labbate will now be reporting for the soon-to-be-launched media.
   Labbate was an editorial assistant at Grid for the last ten months.
 * Previously a reporter at Grid, Khaya Himmelman will now handle misinformation
   reporter duties with The Messenger. She also spent over two years at The
   Dispatch as a reporter.
 * Suzette Lohmeyer is now a senior editor at the media and is overseeing a team
   of six political breaking news reporters covering the White House, Congress,
   elections, agencies and media. Lohmeyer held the same role with Grid for over
   a year and previously was a newsletter editor and writer at NPR.
 * The messenger has brought over Anna Deen to be a data visualization reporter.
   She had the same role with Grid and previously interned at The Washington
   Monthly.
 * Matthew Zeitlin is now a reporter with the media and was a domestic economics
   reporter at Grid. Also a freelance writer, his work also appeared in Vox, The
   Nation, n+1, Barron's, Business Insider, and OneZero.
 * Coming in to fill the investigative reporter role is Steve Reilly. Reilly
   held the same role at Grid from October 2021 until April 2023 but also at The
   Washington Post for less than a year in 2021.
 * Dave Levitan is now a climate reporter at The Messenger. Most recently a
   climate reporter at Grid, he is also a freelance science journalist and his
   articles appeared in The Washington Post, Wired, Scientific American, Slate,
   the Daily Beast, Gizmodo, and many others.
 * A politics reporter at Grid, Sophie Tatum has joined The Messenger also as a
   politics reporter. Her other experience includes producer and reporter at ABC
   News and a digital producer and reporter at CNN. 

Morning Brew has added a producer and a reporter to its team:

 * Carl Mueller has joined the staff as supervising producer working on the
   outlet's video efforts. He comes to Morning Brew from Cheddar, where he spent
   nearly six years as direct of on-demand video and executive producer of
   multiple shows.
 * Courtney Vinopal has joined the staff as a reporter at HR Brew. She was
   previously a labor and management reporter at Observer, and before that
   worked as business news reporter at Quartz. Vinopal also previously spent
   three years at PBS NewsHour.

Bob Mook has rejoined the Denver Business Journal as a senior reporter. He will
cover the intersection of business and government and transportation along with
other beats. Most recently, Mook was a content specialist at The University of
Colorado College of Nursing, and before that held marketing and communications
positions at Contexture and Colorado Center of Law and Policy. Between 1996 and
2010 he was an editor and reporter at the Denver Business Journal.

Bloomberg News has hired Naomi Shavin to be a senior podcast producer. Shavin
previously spent four and a half years at Axios mostly in producing roles and
was involved in the development and launch of “Axios Today” and “How it
Happened” and the relaunch of “Axios Re:Cap.”


Shubham Saharan has joined 9fin as a private credit reporter. Before joining
9fin, she was a markets reporter at ETF.com and an intern reporting for
Bloomberg News, RippleMatch and the Financial Times.

Technology news site The Information added Kalley Huang to its team as a
reporter on April 24. Huang arrives from The New York Times where she spent
almost a year as a technology reporting fellow. Before joining The Times, her
bylines could be found in The Texas Tribune, The Dallas Morning News and the El
Paso Times. 

CNN has tapped Meg Tirrell as medical correspondent. She will report on health
and wellness stories across all CNN platforms. Tirrell joins the network from
CNBC, where most recently she was the senior health and science reporter. Prior
to joining CNBC, she spent nearly seven years at Bloomberg News as
biotech/health/science/pharma reporter.


Christie Barbour has been promoted to executive producer at WTTG-TV, the Fox
station in Washington, D.C. She has been at the station since 2015, and most
recently served as a senior producer. Prior to that, Barbour was a producer at
WJLA-TV in Virginia, and WMAR-TV in Maryland.

ABC's KNXV-TV in Phoenix, Arizona, has upped Destaney Sperry to morning
executive producer. She has been a producer at the station since joining the
staff in 2010. Prior to that, Sperry was a producer at KBTX Media in Texas.

Jaysha Patel has been named morning reporter at KABC-TV, an ABC affiliate
station in Glendale, California. Patel will be reporting for the 4, 5, 6 and 11
a.m. newscasts, Monday through Friday. She has been with the station since July
2021 as a community reporter.

ABC-affiliated station WJCL-TV in Savannah, Georgia, has promoted Kimberly Eller
to the position of news director. Eller has been with Hearst Television since
April 2018 when she joined as the assistant news director at NBC affiliate
KSBW-TV in Salinas, California. 

Tyler Laporte has been promoted to assistant program director at WTMD-FM in
Towson, Maryland. The Non-commercial station owned by Towson University hired
Laporte back in 2008 as a music director and host after he interned there in
2007.

KSAT-TV in San Antonio, Texas, promoted Larry Ramirez to the position of sports
director. Ramirez has been with the ABC-affiliated station since October 2004
and has been the station's weekend sports anchor and noon sports anchor ever
since. 



Media Moves at NBC News, Yahoo Finance & Science Magazine, New Top Editors at
TIME, Chicago Sun-Times

Alison Herman has been named TV critic at Variety and writes reviews, columns,
and features for the magazine. Previously, she was the founding TV critic at The
Ringer. Prior to that, she spent some time editing and writing for Flavorpill
Media.

Women's Health has hired Lily Wohlner as associate e-commerce editor. She works
on the title's shopping content including gift guides, roundups, product reviews
and deals across beauty, sex and relationships, fashion and fitness. Prior
to  that, she was a content associate at THG and an editorial assistant at
NewBeauty before that.

Sam Jacobs is the new editor in chief of TIME, effective immediately. He
oversees the magazine's journalism across all platforms and manages TIME's
newsroom. Jacobs joined the outlet in 2013 and has since held a variety of top
editorial roles, including his most recent stint as deputy editor. Prior to
TIME, he was a correspondent at Reuters, an associated editor at Newsweek, and a
reporter at The Daily Beast.

POLITICO has announced a couple of moves on its Politics team:

 * David Siders has moved from national political correspondent to politics
   editor. He has been on staff since 2016, starting with California Playbook
   before turning to the national desk.
 * Sally Goldenberg has moved from New York’s City Hall bureau chief to a role
   as politics reporter with a focus on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the ‘24
   primary. She’s been with POLITICO since 2013, covering everything from city
   hall to the Bill de Blasio administration, to real estate.

The Chicago Sun-Times has appointed Dave Newbart as managing editor. Newbart was
already serving as the interim managing editor since June 2022 and has been with
the Sun-Times since August 2018.

Danyel Smith has joined The New York Times Magazine as a contributing writer.
Smith, who is also the author of “Shine Bright”, worked previously for over
three years at ESPN as a media executive. She was also an editor at Billboard
and served as chief content officer of Vibe Media Group.

The Advocate has welcomed Lara Nicholson as a crime reporter where she interned
in 2019-2020 and also in 2021. Nicholson has spent the last year as a Florida
Parishes reporter at The Times-Picayune. 

Wyatte Grantham-Philips has recently been hired by The Associated Press to be
their new business reporter focusing on trending news.  Grantham-Philips was
previously a trending reporter at USA Today for almost three years.

Cosmopolitan has named Christen A. Johnson to the position of lifestyle editor
and will be covering topics including home, health and wellness, travel, food,
and much more. She joined the magazine in August 2021 as an associate news
editor and was previously with the Chicago Tribune.

Lilly Blomquist has been promoted to assistant editor at Brides after spending
the last two years as an editorial assistant. Blomquist past work includes
editorial assistant at Real Weddings, lifestyle writer at Elon News Network and
over a year of freelance writing.

E&E News will soon welcome Nidhi Prakash as a reporter covering energy and the
environment from Congress. Her most recent media role was at Buzzfeed as a White
House reporter. Prakash actually spent over five years at Buzzfeed and also held
the posts of news reporter, politics reporter and campaign reporter. 

Christie Wilcox has joined Science Magazine as newsletter editor. She joins the
staff from The Scientist, where she was senior editor since 2021. Wilcox
previously worked as an editor at Complexly: SciShow and has freelanced for
National Geographic, Popular Science, and The Washington Post.

Maddie Ngo has returned to the Washington bureau of The New York Times as a
reporter. She covers economics and follows the money to see where all those
billions of dollars in stimulus funds went. Ngo comes back to The Times after
covering economic policy, the Fed and inflation at Vox for most of the past
year. She was also a 2021-22 Rosenbaum fellow at the paper.

Lee Howard is now the business editor of The Day in New London, Connecticut. He
has been with the newspaper since 1983 and has held multiple roles such as copy
editor, page one editor, business reporter, and most recently community editor,
business reporter and podcaster.

Joining Arc Network is Jonathan Tully as a digital content editor where he will
work closely with Human Resource Executive. Tully had a brief stint at Mashable
as an editor and writer and previously worked as a special projects editor for
City & State Florida.

Bloomberg Law added a new associate litigation reporter when Billy Jean Louis
joined in late March. Jean Louis most recently was a diversity, equity and
inclusion reporter at The Baltimore Sun. His work also appeared in the
Charlottesville Tomorrow, South Florida Business Journal, The Washington Times,
The Miami Herald, and many more.

After a year as a venture capital reporter, Maria Heeter will now handle deals
reporter duties at The Information. Heeter will now cover shareholder activism
and M&A as a member of the finance team.

Yahoo Finance has named Josh Schafer for the position of markets reporter and
will now be covering trending stock stories, economic data and anything
market-related. Schafer has already been handling writing and producing roles
with the media since 2021. 

After more than 15 years at CNN, Adam Levy has joined BBC News as executive
producer and news editor based in Washington, D.C. MOst recently, Levy served as
a showrunner of  "Jake Tapper's Book Club" and "20 Questions with Audie Cornish"
on CNN+, and before that produced "State of the Union with Jake Tapper" and
"Fareed Zakaria GPS."   

David Rohde will  move to NBC News as senior executive editor, national
security, starting next month. He is a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning
journalist who was most recently the executive editor of the New Yorker‘s
digital site. Rohde has also previously spent nearly six years at Reuters as a
national security investigations editor and reporter, and prior to that reported
for The New York Times for 14 years.

CNN has hired a reporter and promoted another one:  

·        Elisabeth Buchwald has been hired by CNN and will be handling economy
explainer reporter for the media’s New York Bureau. Previously at USA Today as a
personal finance and markets reporter, she also worked at MarketWatch, CNBC and
MediaFile.

·        The television network has named Haley Britzky Pentagon reporter and
producer in Washington. Britzky spent six months with CNN as a national security
writer prior to accepting this new role. She was previously an army reporter at
Task & Purpose. 

Megan O’Rourke is returning to Fox-affiliated WXIX-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a
reporter and co-anchor for the 3 and 5 p.m. newscast. O’Rourke spent almost two
years, from July 2014 until April 2016, with the station as a reporter and
fill-in anchor. She was most recently an evening news anchor at the
ABC-affiliate WKEF-TV and Fox-affiliate WRGT-TV, both in Dayton, Ohio.

ABC-affiliated KATU-TV in Portland, Oregon, will welcome on May 1st Ricardo
Lewis as a reporter. Lewis has been a multimedia journalist at KEYE-TV, a CBS
affiliate in Austin, Texas, for almost two years. He also was a multimedia
journalist at WSAV-TV, an NBC affiliate in Savannah Georgia and at KSFY-TV, an
NBC/Fox affiliate in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Sierra Hignite has joined WXIN-TV a Fox station in Indianapolis, Indiana as a
weekend morning anchor. Hignite was a multimedia journalist and reporter at
WISH-TV, a CW affiliate also in Indianapolis.
