TERENCE CRAWFORD: WHY HE IS ONE OF THE TOP 10 GREATEST BOXERS OF ALL TIME August 1, 2023 diligentadvocateLeave a comment Terence Crawford is a name that resonates with boxing fans around the world. He is a three-division world champion, a two-time undisputed champion, and a pound-for-pound king. He has a perfect record of 40 wins and no losses, with 31 knockouts. He has faced and defeated some of the best fighters in his era, such as Ricky Burns, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Viktor Postol, Julius Indongo, Jeff Horn, Amir Khan, and Errol Spence Jr. He has shown versatility, adaptability, and skill in every fight, switching stances, changing tactics, and dominating his opponents. He has earned respect, admiration, and recognition from his peers, critics, and fans. He is Terence “Bud” Crawford, and he is one of the top 10 greatest boxers of all time. Why is Crawford worthy of such a high praise? What makes him stand out among the legends of the sport? Here are some of the reasons why Crawford is an all-time great: He is a two-time undisputed champion. Crawford is the only boxer in history to become an undisputed champion in two different weight classes. He first achieved this feat in 2017, when he unified all four major belts at light welterweight by knocking out Julius Indongo in three rounds¹. He then moved up to welterweight and repeated the same accomplishment in 2023, when he stopped Errol Spence Jr. in nine rounds. Spence was considered the best welterweight in the world and held three of the four major belts. Crawford took them all with a masterful performance that dropped Spence three times and left no doubt about who was the best boxer in the world. He is a three-division world champion. Crawford has won world titles in three weight classes: lightweight, light welterweight, and welterweight. He started his career at lightweight and won his first world title in 2014, when he defeated Ricky Burns for the WBO belt. He then moved up to light welterweight and collected all four major belts (WBO, WBC, WBA, and IBF) by beating Thomas Dulorme, Viktor Postol, John Molina Jr., Felix Diaz, and Julius Indongo. He then vacated his titles and moved up to welterweight, where he won the WBO belt by dominating Jeff Horn. He defended his title against Jose Benavidez Jr., Amir Khan, Egidijus Kavaliauskas¹¹, Kell Brook, and Errol Spence Jr. He became the first boxer to win all four major belts in two weight classes. He is a pound-for-pound king. Crawford has been ranked as one of the best boxers in the world, regardless of weight class, by various media outlets and organizations. As of May 2022, he was ranked as the number one pound-for-pound boxer by ESPN, number two by The Ring magazine and Boxing Writers Association of America, number three by Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, and number four by BoxRec. He has been named Fighter of the Year by ESPN twice (in 2014 and 2017) and by Boxing Writers Association of America once (in 2014). He has also been nominated for the ESPY Award for Best Fighter four times (in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2020). He is a versatile and adaptable fighter. Crawford is known for his ability to switch stances from orthodox to southpaw and vice versa within a fight. He can fight effectively from both stances and deliver powerful punches from either hand. He can also adjust his style according to his opponent’s strengths and weaknesses. He can box from the outside, using his jab, footwork, and speed to keep his distance and score points. He can also brawl on the inside, using his hooks, uppercuts, and body shots to wear down his opponent and finish him off. He can also counter-punch, using his timing, reflexes, and accuracy to catch his opponent off guard and hurt him with precise shots. Source: The NYT – Terence Crawford as Undisputed Welterweight Champion of the World. These are just some of the reasons why Terence Crawford is one of the top 10 greatest boxers of all time. He has proven himself against the best competition in his era, he has achieved historic feats in multiple weight classes, he has been recognized as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, and he has displayed a complete and switch stance boxing style that makes him a nightmare for any opponent. He is not only a champion, but a legend of the sport. He is Terence “Bud” Crawford, and he deserves to be in the conversation of the all-time greats. I will also explain why the word P*** is offensive and why KSI was right to apologize for using it. Sneako is wrong on many levels and he needs to learn from his mistakes. July 16, 2023July 16, 2023 diligentadvocateLeave a comment In this blog post, I will explain why Sneako, a controversial streamer and YouTuber, is wrong about the word P*** not being offensive and why he is wrong in what he said to KSI, a popular UK-based YouTuber and boxer. WHAT IS THE WORD P*** AND WHY IS IT OFFENSIVE? The word P*** is apparently a shortened form of Pakistani, a person from Pakistan. However, it has and is commonly used as a derogatory and incendiary term for people of South Asian origin in the UK and other countries for decades. It is often associated with racism, discrimination, dehumanisation, violence and hate crimes. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, it is “a contemptuous term for a person of Pakistani or South Asian descent“.¹ The word P*** is not just a harmless joke or a friendly nickname. It is a word that has caused pain, humiliation, fear and even loss of life for many people who have been targeted by it. It is a word that has been used to dehumanise, marginalise and exclude people based on their ethnicity, culture AND religion. It is a word that has no place in a respectful and inclusive society. Sneako also claims to be a Muslim, I would challenge him and his to justify his aberrant and erroneous views via the religion he purports to follow now. WHAT DID SNEAKO SAY ABOUT THE WORD P*** AND KSI? Sneako is a streamer and YouTuber who claims to be an advocate for free speech and anti-censorship. However, he has also been accused of being malevolent, ignorant and disrespectful towards various groups of people. He has made several controversial statements. His hypocrisy is also well known as, whilst he professes to advocate traditional masculinity, he has allegedly admitted publicly that he once sat on the same bed his partner was on whilst she engaged in illicit activity with another man! I digress! One of his recent controversies involved KSI, a well-known YouTuber and boxer who has over 23 million subscribers on his main channel. KSI faced backlash (rightfully so) after he jokingly used the word P*** in one of his videos with his friends from the Sidemen group. He later apologised for his mistake and explained that he did not mean to offend anyone.² However, Sneako mocked KSI for apologising and repeatedly used the word P*** in his recent conversation with KSI. He also leaked private messages between him and KSI, where he allegedly called him monkey and said that he was “physically and mentally destroyed by a word”.³ He also challenged KSI to a boxing match, which KSI declined.⁴ Sneako’s arguments for using the word P*** are based on the following flawed, ignorant and moronic assumptions: * Racism only exists if we keep talking about it. * Free speech means that anyone can say anything without consequences. * Everyone makes racist jokes with their friends when the camera is off. * KSI is hypocritical for apologizing for using the word P*** but not for other offensive words. WHY ARE SNEAKO’S ARGUMENTS WRONG? Sneako’s arguments are patently wrong for several reasons: * Racism does not disappear by ignoring it. It persists by denying it, normalising it and justifying it. Racism is not only about words, but also about actions, systems, structures and ideologies that oppress and exploit people based on their race. Hence, why 6 million Bangladeshis who perished by Famine under PM Churchill’s purview or the 20 million Africans who were killed by King Leopold are seldom, if ever, remembered or eulogised with dignity, remorse and mentioned as often as they should be, in order to eradicate the scourge of racism. * Free speech does not mean that anyone can say anything without consequences. It means that anyone can express their opinions without fear of censorship or persecution by the government. However, it also comes with responsibilities and limitations. Free speech does not protect hate speech, which incites violence or discrimination against specific groups of people. Free speech also does not exempt anyone from criticism, accountability or social repercussions for their words. It does protect those who perpetrate defamation and/or those who reveal trade/proprietary information or even Holocaust denial. In Islam, one cannot criticise revered and holy figures mentioned in the Qur’aan (rightfully so) and/or incite treason and sedition. By now, it should become blindingly obvious how odious, fallacious and parasitic Sneako’s views are. * Everyone does not make racist jokes with their friends when the camera is off. Many people do not find racism funny or acceptable in any context. Many people do not tolerate racism in their personal or professional circles. Many people do not use racial slurs as terms of endearment or humor. Many people do respect and celebrate diversity and difference among human beings. * KSI is not hypocritical for apologizing for using the word P*** but not for other offensive words. He is human and he makes mistakes. He is also learning and growing as a person and a public figure. He has acknowledged his error and expressed his regret for using the said word. He has also shown his willingness to listen to feedback and educate himself on why the word is offensive. He has also taken steps to avoid using other offensive words in the future.² SUMMARY Sneako is wrong about the word P*** (and he’s wrong in general and most of the time) not being offensive and why he is wrong in what he said to KSI. He has shown a lack of understanding, empathy and respect for the history, meaning and impact of the word P*** (and how it has scarred a multitude of people in multiple generations). He has also shown a lack of maturity, integrity and decency in his interactions with KSI. The word P*** is not a joke or a compliment. It is a racist slur and an insult. It is a word that should not be used by anyone, especially by someone who claims to be a champion of free speech. ¹: https://www.oed.com/view/Entry/136298 ²: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7byWjDphDQA ³: https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/news-imagine-physically-mentally-destroyed-word-sneako-leaks-private-dms-ksi-mocks-latter-using-racial-slur ⁴: https://www.essentiallysports.com/esports-news-someone-get-the-bodybag-ksi-pens-down-a-four-word-message-to-sneako-leaving-fans-shell-shocked/ SHARE THIS: * Share * * Email * * Print * * * Share * Reddit * * Merken * Telegram * WhatsApp * Like Loading... THEY PROMISE TO MAKE MONEY MORE CONVENIENT, EFFICIENT, AND INCLUSIVE. BUT THEY ALSO THREATEN TO DESTROY YOUR FREEDOMS AND PRIVACY. IN THIS BLOG POST, YOU WILL LEARN WHY CBDCS ARE NOT JUST A NEW FORM OF MONEY, BUT A NEW FORM OF CONTROL. READ, UNDERSTAND AND TAKE ACTION BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE! A central bank digital currency (CBDC) is a digital form of a country’s fiat currency, issued and controlled by the central bank. CBDCs are supposed to promote financial inclusion, simplify monetary policy, and reduce transaction costs. However, they also pose a serious threat to the freedoms and privacy of individuals and businesses. One of the main risks of CBDCs is that they could enable unprecedented surveillance and censorship by the government and the central bank. Unlike cash, which is anonymous and untraceable, CBDCs could allow the authorities to monitor every transaction, track spending patterns, and access personal data. This could lead to violations of human rights, such as freedom of expression, association, and property. Moreover, CBDCs could give the government and the central bank more power to manipulate the economy and influence people’s behavior. For example, they could impose negative interest rates, create money out of thin air, or impose taxes and fees on transactions. They could also discriminate against certain groups or individuals by freezing, confiscating, or limiting their access to CBDCs. Another risk of CBDCs is that they could undermine the innovation and competition in the financial sector. By creating a monopoly on digital money, the central bank could crowd out private alternatives, such as cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, or fintech platforms. This could reduce the diversity and resilience of the financial system, and stifle the development of new technologies and services. Furthermore, CBDCs could expose the users to cyberattacks, technical glitches, or human errors. Unlike cash, which is physical and durable, CBDCs depend on complex and vulnerable digital infrastructure. If the system fails or is hacked, people could lose their money or access to it. This could cause widespread panic and instability in the economy. In conclusion, CBDCs are not just a new form of money, but a new form of control. They could erode the freedoms and privacy of individuals and businesses, increase the power and interference of the government and the central bank, hamper the innovation and competition in the financial sector, and expose the users to operational and security risks. Therefore, before adopting CBDCs, we should carefully weigh their benefits and costs, and consider alternative solutions that respect our rights and choices. What are your thoughts on this? February 19, 2023February 19, 2023 diligentadvocateLeave a comment Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) have recently gained a lot of attention in the financial industry. Many central banks are considering establishing their own digital currencies in light of the development of digital technology and the rising acceptance of cryptocurrencies. This article will discuss CBDCs, who will create and own them, how they will be disseminated, the ethical, privacy, and civil rights issues they raise, as well as how they might result in enslavement. What Are CBDCs? A Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is a digital representation of a country’s traditional currency issued and backed by the central bank. CBDCs, like physical cash or traditional bank deposits, are intended to be used as a form of payment. They are intended to provide a digital alternative to physical cash while also improving speed, security, and efficiency. CBDCs can be used for domestic and international transactions, and they can be kept in digital wallets or bank accounts. Who Will Create CBDCs and Who Will Own Them? Central banks will create and own CBDCs. Central banks are in charge of issuing and regulating a country’s money supply, as well as ensuring the financial system’s stability and security. The central bank will be responsible for issuing the digital currency, establishing the rules for its use, and ensuring that it operates in a secure and reliable manner in the case of CBDCs. How Will CBDCs be Distributed? The distribution of CBDCs will be determined by the central bank’s specific implementation. Some central banks may issue CBDCs directly to citizens, while others may issue them to commercial banks, who will then distribute them to their customers. In either case, the central bank must ensure that the distribution process is secure and efficient, as well as that the digital currency is widely available to the general public. Ethical Concerns The use of CBDCs raises several ethical concerns, including the impact on financial stability, the concentration of power in the hands of central banks, and the possibility of monetary policy being used as a tool for political control. Concerns Surrounding the Erosion of Civil Liberties The possible erosion of civil liberties by CBDCs is a serious worry as well. Central banks will be able to trace and monitor all transactions performed by civilians by creating digital currencies. This might result in more intrusive government monitoring, a loss of privacy liberties, and the repression of dissent. Privacy Concerns CBDC use also raises serious privacy concerns. Central banks would have access to a vast amount of personal financial information if they were able to monitor all transactions made by citizens. This information could be used for anything from targeted advertising to government surveillance to identity theft. How CBDC’s Use Could Lead to Enslavement CBDC use could lead to enslavement in a variety of ways. First, by monitoring all transactions made by citizens, central banks would be able to control and regulate the economy in ways that physical cash cannot. This could result in increased government control of the economy and suppression of dissent. Second, central banks’ concentration of power may result in the formation of a new class of financial elites with sway over the rest of society. Finally, erosion of privacy rights may result in the establishment of a surveillance state in which citizens are constantly monitored and controlled by the government. Conclusion To summarise, CBDCs are an exciting development in the financial world, but they raise significant ethical, privacy, and civil liberties concerns. Prior to the implementation and use of Central Bank Digital Currencies, it is critical that these concerns are addressed comprehensively and conclusively, demonstrably mitigating the aforementioned risks (amongst others) in full and transparently, otherwise, if the risks posed come into fruition, it could spell extremely worrying and dark times for one an all. In this blog post, we explore the issue of social media addiction, from its definition and warning signs to practical tips for overcoming it. By setting limits, creating a routine, finding alternatives, and connecting with real people, you can regain control and use social media in a healthier, more balanced way. Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives. From scrolling through our feeds in the morning to sharing updates and photos with friends and family, it’s hard to imagine a world without social media. However, with constant access and an endless stream of content, it’s easy to become addicted and lose sight of what’s important. In this post, we’ll explore the problem of social media addiction and provide tips on how to overcome it. What is Social Media Addiction? Social media addiction is defined as a compulsive need to spend time on social media platforms, even if it interferes with daily activities and relationships. It can be driven by a desire for validation, social connection, or simply a need for distraction. Like any addiction, it can have negative effects on mental and physical health, as well as relationships and work. Signs of Social Media Addiction * Spending hours scrolling through social media each day * Checking social media multiple times an hour * Feeling anxious or stressed if you can’t access social media * Neglecting real-life relationships in favor of online interactions * Difficulty focusing on other activities because you’re thinking about social media * Using social media as a way to cope with negative emotions or stress Tips for Overcoming Social Media Addiction 1. Set Limits: One of the most effective ways to overcome social media addiction is to set limits on the amount of time you spend on these platforms. Use tools like screen time trackers to monitor your usage and set a daily limit that works for you. 2. Create a Routine: Make social media a part of your routine, rather than something you do impulsively throughout the day. For example, you could check your accounts first thing in the morning and then again in the evening. 3. Find Alternatives: Instead of using social media as a way to cope with boredom or negative emotions, find alternative activities that bring you joy and relaxation. This could be anything from reading a book, going for a walk, or practicing meditation. 4. Turn Off Notifications: Constant notifications can be a major distraction and trigger for social media use. Turn off notifications for social media apps, or limit them to certain times of day. 5. Connect with Real People: Social media can be isolating, even when we’re surrounded by people online. Make an effort to connect with people in real life, whether it’s through hobbies, clubs, or social events. In conclusion, social media addiction is a growing problem in today’s world, but it is possible to overcome it. By setting limits, creating a routine, finding alternatives, turning off notifications, and connecting with real people, you can reclaim your time and focus on what’s truly important. Remember, social media is just a tool, and it’s up to us to use it in a way that serves us, rather than the other way around. Limited Domain Knowledge – While AI can process vast amounts of data, it is still limited in terms of the specific domains and industries it can excel in. Human knowledge, experience, and intuition are critical in many industries and can be difficult to replicate with AI. 2. Emotional Intelligence – AI lacks the emotional intelligence and empathy that humans possess. This can limit its ability to effectively interact with people in sensitive and complex situations. 3. Bias and Errors – AI algorithms are often trained on large datasets that reflect human biases and errors. This can result in incorrect or biased decisions that humans would not make. 4. Complex Problem Solving – AI is still limited in its ability to solve complex problems that require critical thinking, intuition, and creativity. Humans have the ability to analyze, synthesize, and apply knowledge in a way that AI cannot replicate. 5. Ethical and Moral Considerations – AI systems can be programmed to make decisions that are unethical or contrary to human values. Human judgement is necessary to ensure that AI systems are aligned with human ethical and moral principles. In conclusion, AI has the potential to greatly enhance human endeavors, but it is not yet capable of fully replacing human decision-making and expertise in many industries. Despite being a prophet and leader, he never let his position go to his head and always remained humble and approachable. He would often mix with the poor and needy, and was known for his generosity and kindness towards those in need (and generally towards one and all). January 3, 2023 diligentadvocateLeave a comment “If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astounding results are three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any man in modern history than Muhammad” Alphonso De Lamartine The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon Him, is followed and revered by Muslims around the world as the final prophet of God. However, the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon Him) impact extends beyond the Muslim community, and there have been many eminent non-Muslims throughout history who have praised him and recognised his influence. Here are just several examples: 1. Mahatma Gandhi: Gandhi, the Indian independence leader, was not a Muslim, but he had great respect for Muhammad and the message he brought. Gandhi once wrote, “I wanted to know the best of the life of one who holds today an undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind… I became more than convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These, and not the sword, carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle.” 2. George Bernard Shaw: Shaw, the Irish playwright and co-founder of the London School of Economics, had a high opinion of Muhammad and his teachings. He once wrote, “I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him – the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Savior of Humanity.” 3. Thomas Carlyle: Carlyle, the Scottish philosopher and historian, had a deep admiration for Muhammad and the religion he founded. In his book “On Heroes, Hero-Worship, and the Heroic in History,” Carlyle wrote, “The lies (Western slander) which well-meaning zeal has heaped round this man (Muhammad) are disgraceful to ourselves only… A silent great soul, one of that who cannot but be earnest. He was to kindle the world, the world’s Maker had ordered so.” These are just a few examples of pre-eminent non-Muslims who have praised and lauded the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him), recognising the profound importance of His message. Despite coming from different backgrounds and holding different beliefs, they all saw the value in the Prophet Muhammad’s teachings and the veritable positive impact He had on the world and continues to have 1400 years after he first invited people to follow the last and final testament of God. There are a few different approaches one can take when attempting to value Bitcoin. Here are a few potential methods: 1. The Cost of Production: One way to value Bitcoin is to consider the cost of the electricity and other resources required to “mine” the cryptocurrency. This approach is similar to how the value of gold is often determined by the cost of extracting it from the earth. 2. Network Value: Another approach is to consider the value of Bitcoin based on the size and strength of the network of users and businesses that use it. This is similar to how the value of a company’s stock is often determined by the size and strength of the company’s underlying business. 3. Comparable Assets: Some analysts may choose to value Bitcoin based on how it compares to other assets, such as gold or fiat currencies. Ultimately, it’s difficult to predict exactly how Bitcoin will be valued in the future. Some experts believe that the cryptocurrency has the potential to become a widely-accepted medium of exchange, while others are more skeptical. One thing to keep in mind is that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are highly volatile, with prices that can fluctuate dramatically over short periods of time. This makes it difficult to accurately value them and can make them a risky investment. Despite this uncertainty, it’s clear that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have already had a significant impact on the financial industry and will likely continue to be relevant in the years to come. Whether they will become a widely-accepted form of currency, however, remains to be seen. There are several reasons why it is important to be careful about ChatGPT and other AI chatbots: Limited understanding: ChatGPT and other AI chatbots do not have a full understanding of the context or intent behind user input, which means that they may produce responses that are inappropriate or unrelated to the conversation. Bias in training data: ChatGPT and other AI chatbots are only as good as the data they have been trained on. If the training data is biased or flawed in some way, the chatbot will likely produce biased or flawed responses. Lack of empathy: ChatGPT and other AI chatbots are not capable of understanding or empathizing with human emotions, which means that they may produce responses that are inappropriate or lacking in emotional intelligence. Misuse and exploitation: ChatGPT and other AI chatbots could be used to spread misinformation or manipulate public opinion, or they could be used to exploit vulnerable individuals. For these reasons, it is important to be cautious about the claims made about ChatGPT and other AI chatbots, and to be aware of their limitations and potential pitfalls. One such technology is ChatGPT, which is a chatbot that uses GPT-3, the largest and most advanced language model developed by OpenAI, to generate responses to user input. While ChatGPT and other AI chatbots have the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with computers and access information, it’s important to approach these technologies with a healthy dose of skepticism. In this blog post, we’ll explore some of the limitations and potential pitfalls of ChatGPT and other AI chatbots, and discuss why it’s important to be cautious about the claims made about their capabilities. Limitations of ChatGPT and Other AI Chatbots: One of the primary limitations of ChatGPT and other AI chatbots is that they are only as good as the data they have been trained on. This means that if the data used to train the model is biased or flawed in some way, the chatbot will likely produce biased or flawed responses. For example, if the data used to train the model contains sexist or racist language, the chatbot may produce responses that reflect these biases. Another limitation of ChatGPT and other AI chatbots is that they are not capable of understanding the context or intent behind user input. This means that they may produce responses that are inappropriate or unrelated to the conversation at hand. For example, if a user asks a chatbot for directions to the nearest gas station, the chatbot may produce a response about the weather or a completely unrelated topic. In addition to these limitations, ChatGPT and other AI chatbots are not capable of understanding or empathizing with human emotions. This means that they may produce responses that are inappropriate or lacking in emotional intelligence. For example, if a user is upset or angry, the chatbot may produce a response that is indifferent or even insulting, as it has no way of understanding or reacting to the user’s emotional state. Why We Should Be Skeptical of ChatGPT and Other AI Chatbots: Given these limitations, it’s important to be cautious about the claims made about ChatGPT and other AI chatbots. While these technologies have the potential to be powerful tools, they are not a replacement for human interaction or judgment. They are not capable of understanding or reacting to the nuances of human communication, and they cannot provide the emotional support or empathy that is often necessary in human relationships. Additionally, it’s important to be aware of the potential for misuse or exploitation of ChatGPT and other AI chatbots. For example, these technologies could be used to spread misinformation or manipulate public opinion, or they could be used to exploit vulnerable individuals. Conclusion: In conclusion, while ChatGPT and other AI chatbots have the potential to be useful tools, it’s important to approach them with skepticism and caution. These technologies have limitations and are not a replacement for human interaction or judgment. It’s important to be aware of their limitations and to be cautious about the claims made about their capabilities SHARE THIS: * Share * * Email * * Print * * * Share * Reddit * * Merken * Telegram * WhatsApp * Like Loading... Regardless of whether you’re learning math, how to > perfect your Messi-esque freekicks, or how to drive a car, sleep helps improve > your mastery of skills and critical thinking abilities. Sleep assists in > focusing, decision making, and innovation. Why Sleep is Vital Sleep is a sacrosanct pillar for a healthy life. Getting sufficient (and quality) sleep at the right times can assist in and improve your emotional well-being, physical health, mental health, hormone balance and levels of general personal satisfaction. You are less prone to making impulsive decisions, exhibiting erratic behaviour and emotional turbulence. How you feel while you’re awake depends on the quality of your sleep. Beneath that slumber, snoring and somnolence, your mind, body and soul are undergoing essential maintenance. For those less “chronologically challenged” sleep is paramount in supporting mental and physical development and advancement. The harm from sleep deficiency can happen in a moment, (e.g. a car crash – hence the reminders on motorways to rest), or it can hurt you over the long haul. For instance, perpetual sleep deficiency can culminate in chronic health issues and raises the risk of diseases such as heart disease/atherosclerosis and diabetes. It can also influence how well you think, respond, work, learn, and coexist with others. Healthy Brain Function and Emotional Well-Being Sleep helps your cerebrum work correctly. While you’re sleeping, your mind is planning for the following day. It’s framing new pathways to assist you with learning and compartmentalising data, whilst deleting old or redundant mental files. Studies show that a good night’s sleep accelerates our ability to learn, memorise and problem solve. Regardless of whether you’re learning math, how to perfect your Messi-esque freekicks, or how to drive a car, sleep helps improve your mastery of skills and critical thinking abilities. Sleep assists in focusing, decision making, and innovation. Sleep deficiency can change the chemical composition of our brain. This can lead to decreased focus and concentration, even ADHD like symptoms. Our ability to make swift discerning decisions, motivation, controlling our feelings and adapting to change is severely depleted. Sleep deficiency is often associated with cognitive dissonance, sadness, self sabotage and risk averse behaviour. The less sleep we have, the more fatigued we are. This state of fatigue generally culminates in our discipline, motivation and powers of abstention decreasing. Think of muscle fatigue, we’re trying to stop someone from entering our house by holding a door, but the more fatigued our arms, shoulders and legs become, we gradually lose our ability to hold that door. So we either prevent someone from entering or we may give up altogether. The same applies to the multitude of difficult situations we encounter on a daily basis including abstaining from bad habits, without adequate sleep, we’re starting our 12-round fight in an already compromised state. We often associate sleep deprivation with old cantankerous men. However, sleep deprivation is even worse for younger people. Especially since it is so vital and fundamental in their development and regulation of hormones. Studies indicate that lack of sleep is a factor in youth who experience issue in coexisting with others. They are more disposed to temperamental behaviour and bouts of rage. It can exacerbate melancholy. As has been stated above, lack of sleep affects motivation, focus and concentration which inevitably leads to lower grades. Actual Health Sleep for physical recuperation is like water for fish. For example, sleep is associated with recuperating and fix of your heart and veins. Conversely, a lack thereof is associated with an increased risk of coronary illness, problems with kidneys, high blood pressure, diabetes and strokes. To reiterate there is a significant correlation between sleep deprivation and obesity. One investigation of teens showed that with every hour of sleep lost, the chances of problematic weight gain multiplied. This risk is actually present across all age groups. Sleep keeps a healthy equilibrium of the chemicals that cause you to feel hungry (ghrelin) or full (leptin). When you don’t get sufficient sleep, your degree of ghrelin goes up and your degree of leptin goes down. This causes you to feel hungrier than when you’re replenished with sleep. Sleep likewise influences how your body responds to insulin, the chemical that controls your blood glucose (sugar) level. Sleep deficiency results in a higher than typical glucose level, which might build your danger for diabetes. Sleep likewise upholds healthy development and advancement. A good night of shut-eye triggers the body to deliver the chemical that advances ordinary development in kids and adolescents. This chemical likewise helps fix cells and tissues in kids, adolescents, and grown-ups. Sleep likewise assumes a part in youth and virility. Your immunity to illnesses depends on quality sleep. The evidence is overwhelming in this regard. Daytime Performance and Safety Getting sufficient quality sleep at the ideal opportunities assists you with productivity. It supplements both quality and quantity in relation to work. Those on the opposite end of the spectrum who cannot (or will not) sleep for the recommended 7 – 9 hours tend to fair worse at school and work, they have a slower response time and commit more errors. Following a few evenings of losing sleep—even a deficiency of only 1–2 hours of the evening—your capacity to produce quality work diminishes. Absence of sleep additionally may prompt microsleep. Microsleep alludes to brief snapshots of sleep that happen when you’re ordinarily awake. You can’t handle microsleep, and you probably won’t know about it. For instance, have you at any point driven some place and afterward not recollected part of the excursion? Assuming this is the case, you might have encountered microsleep. > How you feel while you’re awake depends on the quality of your sleep. Beneath > that slumber, snoring and somnolence, your mind, body and soul are undergoing > essential maintenance. For those less “chronologically challenged” sleep is > paramount in supporting mental and physical development and advancement. Regardless of whether you’re not driving, microsleep can influence how you work. In case you’re paying attention to a talk, for instance, you may miss a portion of the data or feel as you don’t comprehend the point. Truly, however, you might have rested through part of the seminar and not known about it. Many individuals don’t know about the dangers of sleep deficiency. Indeed, they may not understand that they’re sleep deprived. Even with restricted or low-quality sleep, they might in any case feel that they can work well. For instance, sluggish drivers might feel fit for driving. However, evidence illustrates that sleep deficiency hurts your driving capacity as much as, or more than, being inebriated. It’s assessed that driver fatigue is a factor in around 100,000 road traffic accidents every year. Drivers aren’t the only ones hampered by sleep deficiency. It can influence individuals in all professions, including health care, laborers, pilots, understudies, legal advisors, mechanics, and sequential construction system laborers. Accordingly, sleep deficiency isn’t just hurtful on an individual level, it has a vast scope for inflicting harm. Without sounding too dramatic, the harms of sleep deficiency can have cataclysmic and seismic implications. For example, aeronautical, marine and nuclear incidents/accidents – where large swathes of people have died – have been linked to mistakes induced by a lack of sleep. Specifically the latter, these mistakes have a generational consequence and impact. So, in short, think about that before you choose to give anything precedence over a good night’s sleep. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Whitewashing her Party’s indiscretions and contributing to rampant inequality in a developing continent, isn’t the way to go. The meme of the moment award goes to… Theresa May! ‘The Maybot’: The off-beat robot dance has almost broken the internet in the UK. It was tragicomic at best and absolutely bizarre at worst. But don’t let the theatrics fool you, this tour is a political move with many agendas. Theresa May, the Prime Minister of England, is currently on a tour of Africa. She is attempting to drum up business for her corporate masters post-Brexit. It begs the question, where is the money coming from? Are her corporate buddies going to start paying their fair share of tax? The answer is a resounding no. She is using the aid budget, i.e. tax-payers’ money. This money would usually go to, or it should go to, poorer African Nations like Guinea, Malawi, Chad, Gambia, Niger, Somalia et al, countries that are in dire need of aid, investment and resources. These monies are instead being redirected to the richer African Nations; redirecting it towards the corporate interests of Africa’s elite. What is the net effect? Her corporate drinking and dance partners will get richer and the gap between the rich and poor in Africa will continue to increase. Trickle Down economics seldom, if ever, works in developing nations (any nation for that matter) where accountability is nought, corruption is rife*, and the metrics used to track economic prosperity and inequality are skewed. They are not capable of understanding or reacting to the nuances of human communication, and they cannot provide the emotional support or empathy that is often necessary in human relationships. In recent years, there has been a lot of buzz around chatbots and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies that claim to be able to hold natural language conversations with humans. One such technology is ChatGPT, which is a chatbot that uses GPT-3, the largest and most advanced language model developed by OpenAI, to generate responses to user input. While ChatGPT and other AI chatbots have the potential to be useful tools, it’s important to approach them with a critical eye and to be aware of their limitations and potential pitfalls.
