OPERATING OVERVIEW OF ELEVATORS AND ESCALATORS

176 elevators and 771 escalators are operated by MVG - the availability rate is
over 95%. For your safety, the systems listed here are undergoing regular
maintenance or a TÜV inspection - some are out of service due to construction
work or have to be replaced after many years of operation. Only in a few cases
is there a defect, which is then repaired as quickly as possible by our service
team. We would like to use our overview to help passengers who are dependent on
elevators or escalators to plan their itinerary accordingly.

LIFT CONSTRUCTION SITES


SWM is renewing a total of 45 elevators over the next few years. Each elevator
will then be out of service for up to 8 weeks. Passengers who are dependent on
an elevator will have to reorient themselves during this time. Our ► Overview
shows you when and where the next work is scheduled and what alternatives are
available for mobility-impaired passengers.

Here you can find the original timetable for all MVG means of transport (subway,
streetcar, metro, express, city and cab buses up to and including line 199) to
read or print out. Vehicles with lift or folding ramp are marked accordingly
(stop timetable, stop notice).

►Stop overview map
At bus and streetcar stops that are busy, spread out, or unclear, the overview
maps make it easier to transfer between modes of transportation. The overview
maps provide information about bus/tram stop locations, routes and destinations.
They also show you where your bus or streetcar leaves or where you can change to
the MVG bike.

►Environment plan subway
For our subway stations you can additionally find the environment plans subway.
These are PDF files of the original notices from all Munich subway stations
(there they hang in the showcases on the platform as well as in the mezzanine of

Approx. 4,500 rental bikes painted in silver and blue from MVG Bike are

 * Snow and frost
   
   
   TEAMWORK FOR THE STREETCAR
   
   On Friday, December 1, 43 cm of snow fell in Munich. This was followed by
   severe frost. Why this meant a standstill for the time being and what we are
   doing to get the streetcars running again.

 * December 10
   
   
   MVV NETWORK GROWS BY SIX ZONES
   
   The MVV network will be significantly expanded with the timetable change. It
   will then include fare zones M to 12. The 365-euro ticket as well as the
   children's and bicycle day passes are valid in all zones. And there are MVV
   ski passes.

 * MVG bike to be replaced
   
   
   NEW RENTAL BIKE SYSTEM FROM 2025
   
   MVG Rad will be replaced by a new regional bike sharing system in 2025. Until
   the transition, you can continue to use MVG Rad as normal.

 * New feature in the app
   
   
   MVGO NOW ALSO WITH FAULT MESSAGES
   
   Our mobility app MVGO continues to grow. New features: disruption reports and

   Are you traveling on one of our buses after 9 p.m. and want to get off
   between two stops? In most cases, we make this possible so that your journey

   SHORT TRAINS ON THE U1 AND U7
   
   Part of our subway fleet is being modernized or converted and is therefore
   not available. For this reason, short trains run on the U1 and U7 for the
   most part. The blue stickers show which platform section they stop at.

 * New subway line
   
   
   DRILLING PROGRAM FOR U9 UNDERWAY
   
   Construction will begin in the 2030s, but drilling for the U9 is already
   underway. Drilling is required at 26 points in the city to investigate the
   ground conditions along the possible route. Our film explains the background.

 * Escalator replacement by approx. December 20
   
   
   U4/U5 PARTLY WITHOUT STOP AT ODEONSPLATZ
   
   Structural damage delays the escalator renewal at Odeonsplatz by two weeks.
   Trains coming from Lehel will not stop at this station until probably 20.12.

 * Now numbers in over 30 places
   
   
   MVG IMPROVES ORIENTATION
   
   Am Harras, Effnerplatz, Feldmoching, Harras, Max-Weber-Platz,
   Silberhornstraße and Westendstraße: Seven further stations are given numbers
   at the individual stops for quick orientation.

   TIMETABLE CHANGES DUE TO STAFF SHORTAGE
   
   Like many other transport companies, MVG continues to struggle with staff
   shortages. As a result, the service has to be reduced in some places.

   impossible. Staff were also unable to work or could only work to a very

   tangent in Laim. As the first construction measures are due to start shortly,
   the focus of the event is on project implementation.
