The site has been designed to be simpler and provide a better overall experience for both prospective and current students. What you need to know: * Website URL Change: The URL for the Financial Aid Office website is changing from eou.edu/fao to eou.edu/financial-aid. Users will need to update any bookmarks or links that point to the old site. * Redirects in Place: While all pages from the old site will automatically redirect to the new site, we highly encourage you to update your bookmarks for a smoother experience. * Enhanced User Experience: The new site will feature an improved layout, making it easier for students to access the financial aid information they need. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Justin Montgomery, Director of Marketing and Communications at jmontgomery4@eou.edu. Complete it at FAFSA.gov or click on the button below. If you have questions about the FAFSA® process, you can get in-depth information about the FAFSA® form and what to expect after you submit your application on the studentaid.gov site. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are not eligible to complete the FAFSA®, you may be eligible to complete an Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA) to calculate an SAI and for the Oregon Opportunity Grant if you are an Oregon resident. FILL OUT THE FAFSA® FORM FILL OUT THE ORSAA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP 2: REVIEW YOUR OFFER Your college financing offer availability notification will be sent to your EOU email address once packaged, and if you are a new freshman or transfer student, a paper copy of your offer will be mailed to the address on your FAFSA. You can view your offer anytime online through your student portal, Mountie Hub. Please refer to “Review your Award” in the Financial Aid Menu in the sidebar for more information and for our award guide video. Please schedule a meeting through Navigate with a Financial Aid Counselor to discuss your college financing offer. We will be able to explain what has been offered to you, what kind of budget it is meant to cover, and how outside resources (such as military benefits or outside scholarships) may reduce your need to borrow or otherwise affect your need for different types of aid. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP 3: ACCEPT YOUR LOANS If, after consultation with your financial aid counselor, you determine that you want to use your federal loan eligibility to help pay for your school expenses, you must accept those loans in Mountie Hub, and complete entrance counseling and fill out and sign a master promissory note on studentaid.gov BEFORE your last day of attendance for the term. If you are taking courses other than 10-week courses (i.e. modules), your timeline may be different than the standard academic term dates. Direct Loan Checklist Direct Parent PLUS Loan Checklist -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AS NEEDED: VERIFICATION WHAT IS VERIFICATION? Verification is a federal aid eligibility review process required by The U.S. Department of Education. For this process, EOU is required to verify that the information on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is accurate. We complete the verification process by comparing FAFSA data with federal tax documents* and other forms you provide to the EOU Financial Aid Office. Corrections to your FAFSA and college financing offer may be necessary if discrepancies are found. Without complete documentation, a student will not receive federal or state financial aid. PLEASE, PUT YOUR STUDENT ID NUMBER ON ALL DOCUMENTS! Learn more about Verification Request IRS Verification of Non-filing letter Order IRS Tax return Transcripts Log into StudentForms SCHOLARSHIPS! There are literally thousands of scholarships available to students who are on the hunt for the right match! Some require an application, an essay or other documentation – and a prompt deadline. Take advantage of your talent, drive and ambition and receive funds to help with your college costs. Some are awarded based on financial need. Others look at your academic achievements, school activities or planned major.
