You can initiate a dispute online with CIBIL to address inaccuracies, account
ownership, and duplication of information appearing in your credit report.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO RAISE A DISPUTE?

A dispute can be raised for inaccuracies identified in your CIBIL report.

 * This data may have been incorrectly reported or not updated regularly by your
   banks/financial institutions.

 * You may identify and raise a dispute for your report through the online
   dispute form.

 * CIBIL will assist you in reaching out to the lenders to seek resolution of
   the disputed data




As per the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act of 2005, CIBIL cannot
make any correction, deletion, or addition to any information in the database
without confirmation from the relevant bank/financial Institution.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF A RECENT PAYMENT IN LOAN ACCOUNT / CREDIT CARD IS NOT SHOWN
IN MY REPORT?

Your bank/financial institution will report any recent payments in your loan
account/credit card to TransUnion CIBIL in ~30 - 45 days.

If you have made a recent payment, kindly allow ~30-45 days after the payment
date for the same to reflect in your CIBIL Report.


WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I'VE CLOSED / PAID OFF THE ACCOUNTS BUT THEY STILL SHOW AS
THEY ARE UNPAID / OPEN?

Your bank/financial institution will report any recent payments in your loan
account/credit card to TransUnion CIBIL in ~30 - 45 days.

If you have made a recent payment, kindly allow ~30-45 days after the payment
date for the same to reflect in your CIBIL Report.


WHAT SHOULD I DO IF A CLOSED ACCOUNT IS SHOWING IN MY CIBIL REPORT?

Accounts reported as 'closed' will continue to reflect in your CIBIL report
regardless of its ageing after closed.

Please reach out to the reporting bank / financial institution for the desired
changes in your report.


WHAT SHOULD I DO IF CREDIT CARD BALANCE DOESN’T MATCH WITH MY STATEMENT / LATEST
PAYMENT?

Your bank/financial institution will report any recent payments in your credit
card to TransUnion CIBIL in ~30-45 days.

The date of data submission to TransUnion CIBIL will vary from the date of the
statement, hence the amount shown in the report may also vary. Because of this
you might observe some difference due to these dates.


WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE INFORMATION IN MY REPORT IS OUTDATED / NOT LATEST?

Information available in this section is reported by your banks / financial

WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF ENQUIRIES ON MY CIBIL SCORE?

When you apply for new credit, lenders will often check your credit report,
which can have a marginal impact on your CIBIL Score. Applying for credit, too
frequently in a short period of time can therefore negatively impact your CIBIL
Score.

HOW DO I INITIATE A DISPUTE


STEP 1

If you have an account with CIBIL, login to your CIBIL Dashboard. Or, if you
have received a copy of your CIBIL Report from one of our partners or any other
bank/financial institutions, you can signup for a Free Annual Credit Report
here 


STEP 2

Before initiating a dispute, login to refresh your CIBIL Score & Report. This
ensures you are referring to your latest updated report to reduce incorrect
disputes.


STEP 3

Complete the dispute request form. You can raise multiple dispute requests at a
time.


STEP 4

Await the banks/financial institutions response. Rest assured we diligently
follow up with the reporting lenders, however typical processing time may take
upto 30 days.
