ROOF CLEANING

Here’s what we do
We begin by clearing loose debris like twigs, leaves, tree pollen or pine
needles from that area of your roof affected by moss, algae or lichens. This
allows unobstructive access to your roof surface. Next, we clean your home’s
gutter troughs. Clean gutters and downspouts are essential in order to collect
loosened debris and water runoff from your roof during the cleaning and rinsing
process.

After the roof is cleared of loose debris and gutters and downspouts are
cleaned, we will apply and thoroughly coat your roof with an organic,
biodegradable product that is specific for treating moss, algae, lichens and
other organic material from your roof’s shingles. Our cleaning solution is
unique because it will not harm people, pets or foundation plants, will not
degrade building materials and does not require registration with the EPA.

We then (in most instances) soft pressure wash the shingles. Our soft pressure
washing system uses a unique soft pressure nozzle that lowers water pressure to
the equivalency of a hard rain. This ensures thorough cleaning of roof shingles
while preventing any damage to the shingles during the cleaning process. The
results, in most instances, are immediate.

Why roof cleaning is important
Your roof is exposed to the elements all day, every day. Dirt and debris will
collect on it – and algae, fungus/lichens and moss are different from simple
dirt.

Black stains are a bacterium called Gloeocapsa magma that feeds off of the
asphalt and limestone in your shingles, generally in moist, cool and shaded
areas.

Lichens are basically the combination of algae and fungus. These plant-like
organism’s form root-like tentacles that penetrate deep in the shingles organic
oil-based substance. Lichens are tough, but not impossible to remove, but can
reappear over time due to humidity and rain.

Moss is a plant. Moss has a shallow root system and requires a lot of moisture
to survive. Overhanging tree branches provide shade and shaded areas allow moss
to remain damp longer. As a result, moss grows and can create a “carpet” on your
roof.

These growths degrade the life of your shingles. Not only can a dirty roof ruin
your home’s curb appeal, it can actually damage your roof. That’s why it’s
important to keep your roof clean – It improves the visual appearance of your
roof and extends the life of the roof shingle.


PRESSURE WASHING

Here’s what we do
Looking to refresh your home’s curb appeal by cleaning up the outside of your
home siding? Take the outside of your home from dingy to refreshed. We pressure
wash almost every type of home siding (brick, stucco, cedar shake, vinyl and
aluminum, and fiber cement siding. We can also clean up organic material on
pavers, concrete patios and driveways.

We start by using a lower pressure rinse on your siding to pre-soak the area and
then if needed, we apply a biodegradable, non-toxic cleaning solution. It will
not harm foundation plants, animals, or people. In a short period of time –
dirt, grime and oxidation begins to lift from your siding.

We then complete the cleaning process with a lower pressure rinse, thoroughly
removing residue from your siding.
