SFSCARBIDE IN A NUTSHELL OUR HISTORY WHAT DO WE DO OUR SERVICES OUR HISTORY Over 90 years ago we were established in Detroit Michigan by Heller Brothers File Company of Ohio to service the automotive, aircraft and light or heavy manufacturing industry in re-sharpening metal working hand files. Detroit was picked because it was the central manufacturing hub for the “Big Three” automotive production plants with support of other manufacturers including Tool & Die, Die and Mold, and General Machining. As the USA manufacturing industry expanded and adopted new technologies so did SFS Carbide Tool. In the early 1950’s, we expanded into making machining cutting tools for the automotive and aircraft industry. These included not only the “Big Three” and their tier auto parts manufacturing suppliers, but also the “Aero Space” and ever expanding airplane manufacturing industries. A new company named “MISCO” (Michigan Investment Steel Casting Company) was started in Detroit and has continued to expand alongside SFS Carbide Tool for over nine decades. We continue to service the tooling needs of major companies in the Aircraft, Automotive, Precision Machining, Graphics signage, NASCAR and performance engine building industries worldwide.
