WELCOME TO APFELSCHULE CONSULTING

Digital media are the gateway to news, friends or online shops – not only for
the sighted. People who are blind or visually impaired need digital platforms to
be barrier-free (efficiency) and structured in a way that enables them to find
their way around an app or a website immediately (effectiveness).


SMART ACCESSIBILITY!

We help with the development or improvement of apps and websites to ensure
accessibility for people who are blind or visually impaired – which in turn
offers businesses access to an interesting new customer base.

The core mission of Apfelschule is to train people who are blind or visually
impaired in how to use smartphones and tablets in everyday life. In our courses,
they learn how to use smartphones despite their challenges, thanks to various
aids.

They are shown how mobile devices can support them in terms of organisation,
communication, media and navigation. Thus, Apfelschule draws on daily experience
as to what accessibility features work well in apps and websites – but also how
and where barriers occur.
