Premitive data type in place of T in Icollection As we know T represents type, so we can pass any data type in place of T, it does not matter whether T is user defined or pre-defined. We will now implement an ICollection interface in the following example. * Remove: Removes the first occurrence of a specific object from the ICollection. * GetEnumerator: Returns an enumerator that iterates through the collection. (Inherited from IEnumerable.). * CopyTo: Copies the elements of the ICollection to an Array, starting at a specific Array index. * Contains: Determines whether the ICollection contains a specific value. * Clear: Removes all items from the ICollection. * Those methods are simple to understand, here I am trying to provide a small description. We are seeing that ICollection implements IEnumerable and IEnumerable interfaces. It contains two read only properties and five methods. public interface ICollection : IEnumerable, IEnumerable Here is the body of the generic ICollection interface. ICollection inherits from IEnumerable, so that we can iterate an object collection of the ICollection interface (for example List and List) using a foreach loop. public interface ICollection : IEnumerable There are three properties (all are read only in nature) and one method in the ICollection interface. System.Collections namespace contains specialized classes for storing and accessing the data.A collection is a set of similar types of objects that are grouped together. This works even if a single or no object is returned. When one is not sure, it is safe to define return type as a collection since it can hold multiple objects. Collections come in handy as a return type in the implementation of business methods, generally, when data is obtained from a file or database, it can be a single or multiple objects. Also, the way these objects should be stored can be different, there can be a requirement to store the objects sequentially, non-sequentially, sorted order, etc.The insertion and deletion of elements in an array are also costly in terms of performance. This functionality is provided in Collections. However, in actual development scenarios, the same type of objects are needed to be processed and added dynamically, and the size of the unit holding the objects should grow or shrink accordingly. Array size is fixed and cannot be increased dynamically. 0 Comments 8/19/2023 0 Comments STEPHEN MOYER BILL COMPTON From what we’ve seen of season six already, it doesn’t look like the two star-crossed lovers will be reuniting anytime soon, with Bill struggling to figure out what his new powers mean with a war between humans and vampires on teh horizon. I was doing experiments with a real Mac Pro with a gtx 1070ti graphics card with 10.13.6 in a Benq 4K (3840×2160) monitor. The menu of text size, is not available in any of them (just for the macbook screen, not the others).Īpart from the existence of the menu, there is another thing to consider that maybe you didn’t try. I have a MacBook Pro 15 2017″ with dell monitor. The Displays preference pane acts the same way with your Mac’s built-in Retina display, too, except that “Default for display” automatically chooses the Retina mode. Low Resolution Mode is Available on Built-In Displays, TooĮven if you don’t have a third-party 4K monitor you can still experiment with these options. Option-click on “Scaled” to see even more choices for your monitor, including “low resolution” mode that actually sends a lower resolution to your monitor. Everything else will send a full-resolution image to your screen in what we’ll call “Retina” mode. Anything with “(low resolution)” displayed will actually send that resolution to your screen. Check the “Show low resolution modes” box to see all your options. If you want to actually have your Mac send a lower-resolution image on your monitor, or if you simply want to choose an option different from one of the five that are presented, Option-click the word “Scaled” in this preference pane and you’ll get a much longer list. Native resolution is 3840×2160, using higher-pixel density to display a 2560×1440 image. This is a third-party 4K monitor running in “Retina” mode. Fonts will be smooth and clear and those jagged edges of your windows will be a thing of the past. Here is where you choose “Scaled,” after which you’ll have a series of five options ranging from “Larger Text” to “More Space.” Fear not: regardless of which option you choose here your Mac will still be sending information to your screen at full resolution, it will just be using those extra pixels to smooth out the elements it is displaying. The “Default for display” option will likely be selected and, as mentioned, on your non-Apple 4K monitor that will result in very small images and text. Go into System Preferences > Displays and you should get a separate window appearing on each of your attached monitors. Left is “Retina” mode, the right is the display’s default resolution. The same windows on the same 28″ 4K monitor. The good news is that a simple System Preferences tweak in Mavericks 10.9.3 and later will allow you to set Retina mode manually for your third-party, 4K monitor. Just confirm that your Mac will drive a 4K monitor before making your purchase. Your Retina-capable Mac will default to using this Retina mode for its built-in monitor, but it will not do so for any external, third-party monitor. Enabling Retina Mode on your Third-Party 4K Monitor By doing this at high resolutions, the result is text that is crystal clear and print-like without any individual pixels being apparent. The screen on the iMac with 5K Retina Display screen will have four actual pixels – two vertical and two horizontal – for each effective pixel. That simply means a monitor where your effective number of pixels displayed is less than the actual number of pixels displayed. People buying a 4K monitor today see the same issue, but there is now an easy way to get that running in Retina mode.Īpple’s solution to this issue was to introduce what they call “Retina displays” on Macs. If your monitor’s native resolution was too high, you were plagued with either living with small text or running the screen at a lower resolution. In the old days when you purchased a monitor you had to decide between higher resolution and larger text. 0 Comments 8/19/2023 0 Comments INTERNET EXPLORER DOWNLOAD MACBOOK You can use it on your Mac PC to get that IE feels. Mozilla Firefox– Firefox by Mozilla is a highly underrated browser. However, Mac users don’t prefer using it over Safari. Google Chrome– Chrome is the most popular and used browser in the world currently. Earlier, it wasn’t available for Mac but now they have launched it. Hence, it has all the necessary features that you used IE for, plus it has traces of Internet Explorer’s interface as well. Microsoft Edge– Microsoft developed Edge to replace Internet Explorer. But, you can do that by using some special workarounds. It isn’t possible to directly install and launch it just like you do on Windows. Can I use Internet Explorer on Mac?įortunately, you can use Internet Explorer on Mac. Since you aren’t using Mac OS X 10.6 or earlier, you will not get IE directly. After that, Internet Explorer became an unknown object on Mac. But then, Microsoft discontinued the development of IE for Mac as Safari was launched. Internet Explorer was once available for Mac from 1998 to 2003. The default browser for Mac is Safari, and you can’t install IE externally as well. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer is NOT AVAILABLE for MAC. There are many websites that only run best on Internet Explorer, or its successor, Microsoft Edge. It's both RAR and ZIP and it randomly skips some of them, but every time it skips others. For example I have a folder with 500 ZIP and RAR files, individual files or multiples of RAR and ZIP files (one archive split into multiples). This was the issue in later version 1.x and still in version 2.x. The problem with Archiver is it constantly leaves out extracting certain archives. preparing an archive for work or to be shared), I fire up Windows in a virtual machine and use 7Zip by Pavlov. Honestly, when I want to be absolutely sure there is no problem (i.e. I'm not particularly sold on the BetterZip UI and by it's own admission (look at the change log) BetterZip is still finding/fixing bugs that, in my opinion, should not be bugs in a program that has been around that long. Entropy hasn't been updated in two years, I'm worried it has been abandoned. Don't get me wrong, I would like this program to work. In looking at the company website, it says " Can Archiver open split archives? Yes, Archiver can combine and then unarchive split archives in RAR and 7zip format." Note, only RAR and 7zip, not Zip listed.īefore someone chimes in and says " So What, 7z is better than Zip anyway".I'm not here to debate the pros and cons of compression formats, this is not the place, but from a functionality view, the inability to handle split archives in ZIP format (arguably the most common format today) would seem to be a serious short coming for a program that has the sole purpose of handling archives.įor now, I'm sticking with Entropy on the Mac, and Pavlov's 7Zip utility on Windows. This archive was an ISO image over 6GB, split into 200MB chunks for easier uploading. Program would not extract a multi file split archive in the ZIP format that was created with Entropy, which for the record, Apple's built in Archiver utility, BetterZip and TheUnArchiver, plus the free 7Zip Windows utility, have NO trouble extracting the exact same file I tested with. Features 0 Comments 8/18/2023 0 Comments VPN MONITOR DDWRT So for the purpose of this post and the utility, here is *my* definition. I've never found consensus on the definition of a DNS leak. Since the script is installed in /tmp, it will NOT survive a reboot. Then execute the script to begin monitoring. Ĭurl -kLs -H 'Cache-Control: no-cache' /raw/i37RqaSJ | tr -d '\r' > $script Ĭurl -kLs -H 'Cache-Control: no-cache' /raw/i37RqaSJ | tr -d '\r' | shĪlternatively, to download the script and make changes. But if you want to have it available and/or running permanently, you could install it to /jffs or wherever you prefer.įor immediate execution and monitoring (accepting all the defaults). The script installs into /tmp by default, since it's not expected the utility will be used on a regular basis, but just for temporary diagnostic purposes. I may be able to add IPv6 support in the future, but I just don't have access to it at the moment. It's now easier to determine when you have a DNS leak, even if you don't understand connection tracking (which anyone w/ an interest in this topic should investigate it's NOT difficult).Īs of this moment, the script only supports IPv4, NOT IPv6. NOTHING is more reliable than this part of the subsystem for such purposes.Īll my script does is just put some fancy (but still useful) ornamentation around this one-liner. That's how the router maps outgoing traffic w/ incoming replies (and vice versa). The connection tracking system is constantly being updated w/ *all* the traffic from the LAN clients and the router. The above one-liner will do more to keep you *accurately* informed about what's happening on the router than all the online DNS leaking testing tools put together. The most accurate means to determine which DNS servers are in use by the router, and how they are being routed, is to use connection tracking.Įgrep 'dport=(53|853) ' /proc/net/nf_conntrack That's why I threw together this simple utility. Frankly, I can't understand how it could be accurate given the LAN clients are accessing DNS via the router's proxy, DNSMasq (at least by default). So you just have to take it on faith it's correct (good or bad results). I assume it involves some Javascript "trickery" and/or WebRTC (which many ppl keep disabled, myself included). And these websites rarely if ever explain their methodology. Having a third-party *reliably* determine the actual DNS server(s) in use seems a near impossible task. I'm aware that many ppl depend on online DNS leak testing tools for these purposes. There's a good chance you're wrong! And things can change over time, so what appears correct NOW may not be the case 30 minutes or an hour from now. It's darn near impossible to just look at GUI and all the relevant configuration pages and be sure it works the way you assume it works. for those less familiar w/ the underlying system. Trying to understand exactly how DNS is being handled becomes quite difficult, esp. DNS configuration is distributed across the GUI, involving the WAN (w/ ISP and custom options), DNSCrypt, DHCP server (with its own custom servers), the VPNs, etc. One of the most difficult aspects of the router for users is managing DNS. The following script allows for real-time monitoring of DNS on the router for the purposes of knowing what DNS servers are in use, and which network interfaces are being used by those DNS servers. They are decent options for CAD and BIM software – Revit included. The NVIDIA GTX and RTX GPUs are graphics cards that have been optimized for gaming e.g NVIDIA RTX 3070 or GTX 1660 Ti. Here are the options below: NVIDIA GTX, RTX, or Quadro cards This gives you a lot of options when it comes to choosing a graphics card for Revit. What Graphics Card Is Best For Revit?Īccording to AutoDesk Revit’s system requirements, the best graphics card is one that supports DirectX 11 with shader model 5 having at least 4GB video RAM. What kind of graphics do I need for Revit? In this article, we explain what graphic cards are best for Revit. And the GPU is one of the hardware requirements that must be met. He's proficient in AutoCAD (including customization), VBA, LISP, and Civil 3D.Autodesk Revit has steep system requirements to fulfill to fully take advantage of the software. Technical Support SpecialistAn AutoCAD Certified Professional, Ryan is responsible for taking client cases and assisting with issues with the software - everything from regular glitches to software deployments and whatever else goes wrong. For most machines you can add RAM later for less, so start with 16 GB, and if you still have the budget after those items, get the SSD. So, in short, know your budget and start with the processor first, and then the graphics card. This will speed up the applications and operating system significantly, and since the cost has been coming down and the reliability is going up, it's an excellent way to get the most out of your machine. If you can afford one, I highly recommend an SSD (Solid State Drive) as your primary drive (generally at 250 or 500 Gigabytes). When possible I recommend 6 GB or more, especially if you are rendering or handling large models or data sets. 4 GB dedicated Workstation class Video Card as a bare minimum (NVidia Quadro or AMD FirePro), You can probably make out fine with 2GB for most LT applications, but more is better, and it must be Workstation class – gaming cards will not cut it for performance. You will want 32 GB or more if you are working with large models or animations 16 GB of RAM minimum, 8 GB might be okay for LT applications and Viewers, but as a minimum 16 GB.(I generally steer away form Xeon processors, those have Server architecture and are generally not faster than a consumer processor) Fastest Intel i7, Intel i9, or AMD processor you can afford (Minimum 3.0 GHz or higher) – Quad core or more if you have the budget (more cores is not necessarily faster, as most Autodesk Software is primarily single core/single thread) The faster the processor, the better the performance will be.Here's a list of what I have put together for specs based on my own experience and usage: You've looked at the Autodesk website, and have looked at their minimum specifications, but don't see a recommended or ideal one. You are ready to buy a new computer for your CAD workstations, and are confused or unsure what the best setups are for what you do. 0 Comments 8/18/2023 0 Comments EVERNOTE HELP Locally stored notes and notebooks can be accommodated in other note-taking apps, so I use another product for this purpose and link back and forth between them. In fairness there are also many more additional features - some of which may be useful, some probably not but things are still developing.īackups are still easy in Legacy, so that's the main reason I log in there every week. The two big omissions for me are the ability to backup the whole account easily in one operation, and yes - the locally stored, not synced, notes where confidential information can be stored solely on my local drive. I held out against the new version for a long time on grounds of compatibility and missing features, but having made the change earlier this year I find I'm missing the Legacy app less and less. I am led to understand that some significant imporvements to the Android app are scheduled this week. The v10 Android app has not enitirely caught up the older version. There are also a handful of third-party programs that will export the data for you. v10 allows Notebook export of ENEX files which has always been the advised way of exporting to retain the structure as well as the notes. However that has always suffered from the problem that the all note export loses the Notebook structure. You can also export the whole Evernote data in Legacy as a single ENEX. I'm told that bulk tag manipulating remains better in Legacy. I use v10 for everything except printing (which I do so infrequently that it isn't a big deal). But the desktop applications work off-line and catch up when you return online. There is no local database in the way that the Legacy application had. You can go off-line and things will continue to work provided you have Evernote open before going off-line. The assumption is that you are working online. V10 is emphatically an online application. I also don't know if the new Android version is compatible with the old Windows Legacy version. So if you also have something to say about Android version, I am also interested. Also on Android worked then less than with the old version. On Android I also use old Evernote version 8.13.3. I still use very successfully the Legacy version on Windows. They are only interesting if the basic functions of Evernote everything also run. I don't need the new functions like tasks and calendar. Or does the Legacy still have important advantages? e.g. Can you do EVERYTHING you can do with the Legacy version now with the new V10? I need an offline database.īefore I have another disappointment like this, please tell me if the change is worth it now almost 12 months later.
