The real resolution when you select a non “low resolution” to let’s say
2560×1440 is 5120×2880, which is NOT the native resolution. I was doing
experiments with a real Mac Pro with a gtx 1070ti graphics card with 10.13.6 in
a Benq 4K (3840×2160) monitor. The menu of text size, is not available in any of

BEST FILE ARCHIVER FOR MAC

When I do the unpacking then manually specifically on the archives it skips,
unpacking works fine. It's both RAR and ZIP and it randomly skips some of them,
but every time it skips others. For example I have a folder with 500 ZIP and RAR
files, individual files or multiples of RAR and ZIP files (one archive split
into multiples). This was the issue in later version 1.x and still in version
2.x.

The problem with Archiver is it constantly leaves out extracting certain
archives. preparing an archive for work or to be shared), I fire up Windows in a
virtual machine and use 7Zip by Pavlov. Honestly, when I want to be absolutely
sure there is no problem (i.e. I'm not particularly sold on the BetterZip UI and
by it's own admission (look at the change log) BetterZip is still finding/fixing
bugs that, in my opinion, should not be bugs in a program that has been around
that long. Entropy hasn't been updated in two years, I'm worried it has been
abandoned. Don't get me wrong, I would like this program to work. In looking at
the company website, it says " Can Archiver open split archives? Yes, Archiver
can combine and then unarchive split archives in RAR and 7zip format." Note,
only RAR and 7zip, not Zip listed.īefore someone chimes in and says " So What,
7z is better than Zip anyway".I'm not here to debate the pros and cons of
compression formats, this is not the place, but from a functionality view, the
inability to handle split archives in ZIP format (arguably the most common
format today) would seem to be a serious short coming for a program that has the
sole purpose of handling archives.įor now, I'm sticking with Entropy on the Mac,
and Pavlov's 7Zip utility on Windows. This archive was an ISO image over 6GB,
split into 200MB chunks for easier uploading. Program would not extract a multi
file split archive in the ZIP format that was created with Entropy, which for
the record, Apple's built in Archiver utility, BetterZip and TheUnArchiver, plus
the free 7Zip Windows utility, have NO trouble extracting the exact same file I
tested with. Amiga Zoom disk archive (zom) ĭecided to try this again after

So for the purpose of this post and the utility, here is *my* definition. I've
never found consensus on the definition of a DNS leak. Since the script is
installed in /tmp, it will NOT survive a reboot. Then execute the script to
begin monitoring.

what's happening on the router than all the online DNS leaking testing tools put
together. The most accurate means to determine which DNS servers are in use by
the router, and how they are being routed, is to use connection tracking.Įgrep
'dport=(53|853) ' /proc/net/nf_conntrack That's why I threw together this simple
utility. Frankly, I can't understand how it could be accurate given the LAN
clients are accessing DNS via the router's proxy, DNSMasq (at least by default).
So you just have to take it on faith it's correct (good or bad results). I
assume it involves some Javascript "trickery" and/or WebRTC (which many ppl keep
disabled, myself included). And these websites rarely if ever explain their
methodology. Having a third-party *reliably* determine the actual DNS server(s)
in use seems a near impossible task. I'm aware that many ppl depend on online
DNS leak testing tools for these purposes. There's a good chance you're wrong!
And things can change over time, so what appears correct NOW may not be the case
30 minutes or an hour from now. It's darn near impossible to just look at GUI
and all the relevant configuration pages and be sure it works the way you assume
it works. for those less familiar w/ the underlying system. Trying to understand
exactly how DNS is being handled becomes quite difficult, esp. DNS configuration
is distributed across the GUI, involving the WAN (w/ ISP and custom options),
DNSCrypt, DHCP server (with its own custom servers), the VPNs, etc.

One of the most difficult aspects of the router for users is managing DNS. The

purposes of knowing what DNS servers are in use, and which network interfaces

may be useful, some probably not but things are still developing.īackups are
still easy in Legacy, so that's the main reason I log in there every week. The
two big omissions for me are the ability to backup the whole account easily in
one operation, and yes - the locally stored, not synced, notes where
confidential information can be stored solely on my local drive. I held out
against the new version for a long time on grounds of compatibility and missing
features, but having made the change earlier this year I find I'm missing the
Legacy app less and less. I am led to understand that some significant
imporvements to the Android app are scheduled this week. The v10 Android app has
not enitirely caught up the older version.

There are also a handful of third-party programs that will export the data for
you. v10 allows Notebook export of ENEX files which has always been the advised
way of exporting to retain the structure as well as the notes. However that has
always suffered from the problem that the all note export loses the Notebook
structure. You can also export the whole Evernote data in Legacy as a single
ENEX.

I'm told that bulk tag manipulating remains better in Legacy. I use v10 for
everything except printing (which I do so infrequently that it isn't a big
deal). But the desktop applications work off-line and catch up when you return
online. There is no local database in the way that the Legacy application had.
You can go off-line and things will continue to work provided you have Evernote
open before going off-line. The assumption is that you are working online. V10
is emphatically an online application. I also don't know if the new Android
version is compatible with the old Windows Legacy version. So if you also have
something to say about Android version, I am also interested. Also on Android
worked then less than with the old version. On Android I also use old Evernote
version 8.13.3. I still use very successfully the Legacy version on Windows.
They are only interesting if the basic functions of Evernote everything also
run. I don't need the new functions like tasks and calendar. Or does the Legacy
still have important advantages? e.g. Can you do EVERYTHING you can do with the
Legacy version now with the new V10? I need an offline database.īefore I have
another disappointment like this, please tell me if the change is worth it now
almost 12 months later. The biggest problem was that there was no offline
database anymore. my favorites with the different colors were all gone. Very
much effort to go back to the Legacy.Į.g. You can download individual notes from
the note settings.I tested the V10 a year ago and immediately discarded it.

changes will be properly communicated and no data will be lost once that process
