BEST INTUITIVE PROBLEM SOLVER

The other day I was chatting with someone about my approach to life. They said,
“it sounds like you are an intuitive problem solver.” This statement resonated
so strongly with me and it was like a lightbulb moment.

Throughout my life I have been figuring out things when nothing seemed to make
sense to anyone else. I created things out of nothing when no one else had a
clue where to start.

Many in my life told me I just knew things. They told me how I just figured out
things. Some called me the Space Cowboy. Others marveled at how things just
worked out for me. [insert space cowboy and friend] [insert how job said
everything just worked for me]

Yet I had no clue how I did any of this. I just figured that most people in the
world could figure out what I did. There was nothing special about it from my
vantage point.

Being intuitive is something I am finally understanding has been there all my
life. I knew I was a problem solver but was afraid to say that too loudly. I
didn’t want everyone coming out of the woodwork to get me to solve their
problems [insert solving problem for family]

I have often joked that if I could have a little stand like Lucy did in the
Peanuts comics, I could make a killing. Instead of offering advice for a nickel,
I would offer creative ideas and solutions.

MANY YEARS TO SEE I WAS CREATIVE

It took me many years to figure out that I was creative. I thought I was
analytical with numbers. Boy, was I wrong! Yes, my mind can analytically look at
a situation, see the big picture, and find the way through it. It doesn’t matter
if I know the subject or not, I’ll figure it out. [insert techs with
certifications]

Yet it is highly stressful and often a great deal of anxiety. If you’re alone
with me and I don’t know you’re around, you may hear my full-throated colorful
language at the highest volumes. While that may sound odd, especially if you
know me, it seems to go hand in hand with helping me find my way through
something.

I think back to all the things that I started from scratch and the opportunities
I was fortunate to be given. Creativity is like a “high” to me. I thrive on it
and love every moment of it. It gives me existence and will transform just about
everything into something when I am confronted by it.

SOME WASTED MY TALENTS AND ABILITIES

There have been some horrible places and terrible bosses that didn’t understand
this. They stifled me and held me back. They wasted my talents and abilities.
The good ones that did see it helped me push further than I ever thought I could
go. They challenged me to the point of accomplishing things I never thought I
could do [insert install project]

When I was a child, many did not recognize my creativity. I was often ridiculed
and told my creative ways were annoying. Sometimes I was just mocked.
Unfortunately, for most of my life, I listened to those that didn’t understand.
It has taken a great deal of painful difficulty to get to the stage in life I am
at, embracing my creative side. You can see what I’m talking about in my book(s)

For a long time, I have struggled to come into and find my “niche.” I struggle
to tell people what I do because most of it doesn’t fully fit. It may come close
to telling a portion of who I am, but it leaves out nearly everything. It is why
the “intuitive problem solver” tag means so much. It resonates highly. It is
like a lightbulb moment that went off. These three words, “intuitive problem
solver,” seem to say so much and it feels easy for me to explain.

WHAT IS AN INTUITIVE PROBLEM SOLVER

INTUITIVE

Intuitive is the ability to know things with your intuition. Some people put
different labels and beliefs on this, but for me, it is what I feel inside. I
don’t try to connect with it, as it is usually just there. It is my thoughts,
reactions, physical feelings, and connections. These are the little sparks of
something that make a difference and guide me to the ah-ha moment. It might be
unrelated puzzle pieces that when combined at the right time and in the right
place all come together.

For me, intuition feels like being on autopilot but connected and grounded
[insert grounded definition]. I’m not lost in the clouds or some belief system.
I’m fully connected, but a deep part of me is working to resolve each situation
creatively.

PROBLEM OR CREATION

The problem can be a part of an issue that needs fixing or it can be part of
something that is needed to help assist a situation or a person. It might be
doing my part so that someone else can realize their function and role in the
world. A problem is something that is in the necessary course of evolution in
our world and it can be a positive, not just a fix for a negative or something
broken.

SOLVER

Solver – that’s the creative person in me. The one that thinks outside the box
to find a solution [insert wiring fix problem]. I don’t see things the way most
people do. My view tends to go beyond or above or around what most see. Thinking
outside the box is one way of stating what I do, but it is by no means the
entire way.

I struggle to explain this concept because sometimes it shows up as an image,
thought, or something to try. Most of society wouldn’t even know how to connect
with it. For me to write this makes me feel like I’m strutting myself above
others, but I don’t know how else to state it. It isn’t so much that I walk to
the beat of a different drum. I walk to the beat of a drum that hasn’t been
invented or heard by others.

Of course, I have no idea how all of this unfolds in real time. It just does. It
happens without me knowing it. While others may see it, all I might see at that
moment is the frustration, stress, worry, and anxiety of finding my way through
to creation or solving a problem.

Sometimes, even now as I write this, I feel a warmth come over me as if I’m
being guided and directed. I could not describe in detail any more than that,
but it is what I notice and feel.

All of this requires that I spend as much time in nature or silence as I do in
trying to solve the situation. If I don’t, I can burn myself out quickly. This
process is high energy at warp speed. It is one of the things I struggle to find
the balance in because when I get in that creative moment, I do not wish to stop
or slow it down. Sometimes slowing it down or stopping it keeps me from putting
it all together.

ISSUES AN INTUITIVE PROBLEM SOLVER FACES

VULNERABILITY

One of the struggles as an intuitive problem solver is that of vulnerability.
Often it appears to others that I am weaker or with less knowledge. In my humble
nature, I don’t put all my cards on the table. Sometimes I think the more silent
ones are the ones that hold much more knowledge. For me to ask a question that
may be connecting one piece of the puzzle might appear to some that I don’t know
much.

Too many have underestimated me and found themselves in an awkward situation. It
is not easy to be vulnerable but that state is where the creativity comes
through. It is synonymous with being an intuitive problem solver. If you have
all the answers, you’re not going to solve the hard problems. It is when we step
back into the arena of not knowing the answers that we allow ourselves to find
the nuggets that everyone else misses.

ADEQUATE WORTH OF MY ABILITIES

As an intuitive problem solver, I’ve noticed that I struggle to adequately earn
what my abilities are worth. My self-image takes a major hit and so I see myself
as inadequate because I can’t solve what others cannot do (even though I usually
end up solving it – if that makes sense). My self-image usually holds me back
and tells me how stupid I am or how little I know or that I’ll fail. It doesn’t
matter how often I’ve succeeded when no one else could. My brain listens to the
old tapes played to me as a kid. Again, read my book for more on that.

JUST WING IT

Sometimes I’ll say I’m going to wing it and I really upset people. They think
that says I don’t care about what I’m doing. To me, it is the opposite. It is
letting go of all my fears, anxiety, and shortcomings so I can walk around the
block and find my way through to the solution. Usually, we get in the way of
doing what we need to do and as an intuitive problem solver, that is so true for
me.

USING MY SKILLS AND SERVICES

In all honesty, I’m not sure why I’m doing this website. It feels like the right
thing to do, but I can’t tell you where it will go. I’m not sure if someone out
there will resonate and will connect with me. I have no idea at this point, but
it feels right to put it out there.

While I am not opposed to using these skills for corporate business, I hope that
they get used to enhance something needed for the world. For instance, in one
situation, I was a tech lead support and while I helped to make sure a new
business was set up and launched all over the country, the bigger picture was
more than that. It helped so many bring to life their business which provided
for their income and that of many employees. I was just one tiny little spark,
but a final spark that helped bring it all to life.

CHARGING FOR MY SERVICES

I’m not going to give these services away. I have done that for far too long
with little appreciation for it. My hourly rate at minimum is $85 plus all
travel expenses and travel time. If that is too steep for anyone needing this,
I’m not the person for you. I give so much in these situations that if I don’t
see the monetary reward then I’m not able to enjoy life and recharge my
batteries.

EVOLVES OUT OF SITUATIONS

One of the things I’ve noticed as an intuitive problem solver is that the
opportunities arose without me understanding that they did. It wasn’t like the
opportunity was neatly wrapped with a bow so I could see it. Much of the time,
it evolved out of situations that shocked and surprised me and many others.

When I get in the middle of it, I know it. It does not feel like work. It is a
creative driving force that pushes me further than I have ever been. It propels
me out into the forefront of what has not been created or discovered.

I remember starting up a research department for an agriculture company. At the
time, this had been done in a university controlled situation, but never in a
commercial setting.

When I started, I had no idea what needed to be completed and I was spending
almost 100 hours a week to accomplish it. When I left, I had things so organized
and into a computerized system of checks and balances that just about anyone
could do. When I left, I spent about 20 hours a week doing what once had taken
me 100 hours. Others soon followed in our footsteps but again, my skills were
not effectively utilized and so I moved on in life.

TRIAL AND ERROR

I can’t always tell you what is going to succeed and what is not, or how much
time it will take. Often failure or trial and error is a big part of it.
Sometimes the progress starts slowly and other times it picks up speed like a
snowball rolling down a hill.

I’ll never forget one job I had where it was taking two techs 18 to 24 hours to
get a store install done. Little did I know at the time that the installs were
not working correctly. At the same time, I was figuring out how to get the
install done by myself in six hours, and it was working.

Yet the contract employment company didn’t even notice that. When others pointed
this out to them, they didn’t care. All they saw was a name on a piece of paper
to fill a job task for the day. Thankfully some others that ran the project saw
the other side. Once again, I’m not flashy with an ego. I put my head down, find
the solution, not let my mouth run off with needless chatter. That’s the
intuitive problem solver in me.

TOO MANY DON’T WALK THE TALK

I’ve seen too many that claim so much, but they don’t walk the talk. Usually,
the ones talking aren’t the ones doing. I make no claims about what I can
accomplish but if you need someone that will usually get results, place your
bets on me.

I enjoy being challenged in life, but not necessarily with mundane tasks. A
challenge to an intuitive problem solver is in the act of creation, not repeated
daily steps that almost anyone can do.

I love to be at the forefront of what is possible. It gives me great joy to
travel where few have gone. For me, it is boring just to do what everyone else
does. There is no passion in that for me. To train others and help them continue
with the mundane repeated tasks is fine until the next moment of creativity
happens. [training became creation]

I’m putting this out here on this website, not because I can tell you why I’m
doing it. The intuitive problem solver knows there is more to this than what I
can see. For now, I’ll follow that lead and my gut intuition. The rest of it
will make itself known to me at the right time.

INTUITIVE PROBLEM SOLVER FAQ

 1. What Is An Intuitive Problem Solver?

An intuitive problem solver is one that sees beyond the problem or
situation. There is a way of viewing it as a bigger picture. Often times,
the problem solver does not know how to fix or solve the issue, but using
the intuitive skills they were born with, they find a way to create
solutions to whatever it is that they face.

 2. What Is Intuition Based On?

For an intuitive problem solver, not only do skill and experience help
greatly, but intuition allows so much more possibility. It is not easy to
explain, but it is more than a gut feeling. It often involves knowing or
sensing. Sometimes intuition can be visions, images, and thoughts that come
    into your mind.

 3. Are People Poor Intuitive Problem Solvers?

Some psychologists and studies suggest people are often poor intuitive
problem solvers. Generally speaking, they do not always collect the right
data in regard to a problem or situation. As a result, they formulate plans
and theories based upon data that is not complete. Intuition will do much
for someone that is an intuitive problem solver, but without facts, data,
experience, and skilled practices, you can be easily led astray.

 4. Can You Learn To Be An Intuitive Problem Solver?

Perhaps, it is possible to learn to be an intuitive person. I think we all
have an intuition to some degree, but most of us are too busy, too stressed,
and too in our head to be intuitive. Intuition, from my experience, is about
getting out of the way of myself, the noise that surrounds me, and the
thoughts that run wild. The more I can step back and listen and allow things
to happen, the better I am at intuitive problem-solving.
