RADIOLOGY APPLICATIONS ANALYST III - IT CLINICAL SYSTEMS

commitment to the delivery of quality health care to the communities we serve.

patient care, the creation of a structure for employees to report potential
problems, the prevention of illegal and unethical conduct, and the development
of procedures for prompt and thorough investigation of misconduct.

 

Job Description:

The Radiology Applications Analyst is responsible for designing, configuring,
testing, implementing and supporting the clinical, and ancillary healthcare
information systems used for the delivery of patient care and other supporting
functions of the organization. Highly desired qualifications include senior
level experience supporting Imaging applications; ie. Sectra PACS/ Radiant RIS,
PowerScribe 360, DoseWatch, Dexa, Hologic, TeraRecon, DigiSonics, HL7
interfaces, etc.

Essential Functions:

Applications Analyst III

 * Knowledge of end to end Clinical, Imaging and/or Integration workflows to
   include areas/workflows such as clinical documentation, regulatory, pharmacy,
   other clinical areas and the ability to translate requirements of other
   departments that provide direct patient care.
 * Application support expertise in Sectra PACS, Radiant, PowerScribe 360,
   DoseWatch, Dexa, TeraRecon, and/or DigiSonics.
 * Monitor PACS activities and resources, diagnoses system hardware and software
   problems, performs monitor calibrations, validates computer workstations,
   resolves problems according to established policies and procedures.
 * Day-to-day operation of the PACS operating environment including equipment
   for image workflow (Servers, Rad workstations, workstations and modalities)
 * Responsible for PACS systems, voice dictation, worklists, DICOM image & HL7
   order workflows and interfaces with hospital EHRs (currently Paragon
 * Experience with building/testing/implementing in RIS
 * Functional knowledge/understanding of SQL
 * Understanding of differences of inpatient and outpatient settings
 * Functional knowledge of HL7 interfaces and the ability to analyze interface
   errors from various clinical and revenue cycle point of view. (i. e. adjust
   dictionary, interpret data flow and how data interacts on a global/enterprise
   level)
 * Ability to represent Clinical Department needs in a complex multi
   departmental setting to then be able to offer focused solutions that take all
   angles into consideration
 * Primary ownership for the build and maintenance of highly complex system
   dictionaries, profiles, tables and other configuration points.
 * Independently resolves the most complex, multi-function application errors
   and system issues
 * Manages system enhancement requests directly with the vendor and various IT
   Technical teams
 * Leads and/or facilitates system design, validation and/or remediation
   sessions.
 * Leads large projects and functions as a subject matter expert on complex,
   cross-functional projects.
 * Advanced understanding of how the assigned application(s) impacts or is
   impacted by other systems throughout the Hoag application architecture and
   works directly with the Application Integration team to resolve complex data
   integration issues.

Required:

Applications Analyst III:

In addition to the above, the Applications Analyst III will have:

 * Minimum five (5) years experience with the application, module or equivalent
   system as assigned
 * Advanced knowledge of the assigned application in multiple functional areas
 * Expert knowledge of the assigned application in at least one functional area

Ability to mentor junior application analysts

Preferred:

All Levels:

 * Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
 * Two (2) or more years experience with the application, module or equivalent
   system as assigned

Two (2) or more years experience working in a Health Care Application Services
department, preferably within an acute care environment

Required:

Applications Analyst I and II

 * Excellent communication skills; customer focused; excellent attention to
   detail; able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; strong interpersonal
   skills; able to work in a team environment.
 * Proficient with Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
   Visio

Applications Analyst III and Lead

In addition to the above, the Applications Analyst III and Lead should have:

 * Possesses logical structured thinking abilities and can develop sound
   business cases to support planning and critical decision making

Advanced presentation and facilitation skills

Job Summary

The Applications Analyst is responsible for configuring, testing, implementing
and supporting the clinical, financial, administrative and other healthcare
information systems used for the delivery of patient care and other supporting
functions of the organization. Oversees practices and processes to ensure
integrity, safety and availability of all data and applications as part of the
organization’s systems. Will also be responsible for planning and system
development, project management, network application administration.

 

Education and Experience

Minimum five (5) years’ experience with the application, module or equivalent
system as assigned. Expert knowledge of the assigned application in at least one
functional area. Ability to mentor junior application analysts

Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
experience in a related field. Two (2) or more years’ experience with the
application, module or equivalent system as assigned. Two (2) or more years’
experience working in a Health Care Application Services department, preferably
within an acute care environment.

Proficient with Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Visio, and Project

12. California Immunization Registry

Hoag may share your immunization or tuberculosis (TB) screening test records
with the California Immunization Registry (CAIR), a statewide, secure and
confidential database of patient immunization information. The CAIR is used by
health care professionals, agencies, and schools to keep track of all shots and
TB tests you take, and can provide proof about immunizations needed to start
child care, school, or a new job. If you do not want your immunization or TB
records to be shared with other registry users, please fax or email the “Decline
or Start Sharing/Immunization Information Request Form,” available on the CAIR
website at https://cairweb.org/cair-forms/, to the CAIR Help Desk at
1-888-436-8320 or CAIRHelpDesk@cdph.ca.gov

13. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident and have provided personal information to Hoag,
you are entitled by law to request certain information regarding any disclosure
that may have been made by Hoag to third parties of personal information for
their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, send an email
specifying that you seek your “California Customer Choice Privacy Notice.”
Please allow thirty (30) days for a response. Hoag is required to respond to
only one request per customer each year, and is not required to respond to
requests made by means other than through the above email address.

We will not share your personal information with third parties for their direct
marketing purposes if you request that we do not do so. You may make such a
request by sending us an email at feedback@hoag.org.

When contacting us, please indicate your name, address, email address, and what
personal information you do not want us to share with third parties for their
