THE BOARD OF EXECUTIVES of Tampereen Kansi, a multi-purpose arena built over
rail tracks in downtown Tampere, has terminated its naming rights contract with
Uros, a technology company rooted in Oulu.

The board of executives justified the decision with the poor financial situation
of and negative publicity received by Uros. The arena was to be named Uros Live.

The Parties to the UN Climate Change Agreement will meet in Glasgow, Great

Finland's Minister of Justice Anna-Maja Henriksson said the anti-racism
programme would aid the development of society as a whole/Lehtikuva

On Thursday, the Finnish government approved a new programme aimed at tackling
institutional racism and discrimination in the country, Helsingin Sanomat
reports. 

The programme, named Yhdenvertainen Suomi or “Equal Finland,” includes a
52-point action plan and eight key objectives to be implemented from 2021 to
2023. It is based on existing research on racism in Finland.

company to help people with disabilities find employment in the country. 

The initiative, called the Work Ability Programme, is part of the country’s plan
to achieve a 75 percent employment rate by 2025. It will focus on offering job
opportunities to vulnerable groups and those with reduced working capacity.

THREE JOURNALISTS at Helsingin Sanomat have been charged with disclosure of a
national secret by the Deputy Prosecutor General of Finland.

YLE on Friday wrote that although the offence carries a minimum punishment of
four months and maximum punishment of four years in prison, it is unlikely that
the act in question results in a non-suspended prison sentence.

The City of Espoo proposes new restaurant and café operators for two locations
along the Waterfront Walkway. It proposes that year-round restaurants be built
in Soukanranta and Haukilahti. Other services related to the use of the seaside
areas would also be provided in connection with the buildings.

FINLAND has inched closer to reaching its target of fully vaccinating 80 per
cent of the 12-year-old-and-older population.

“We’re still 120,000 second doses short of the target. The current estimate is
that the 80-per-cent vaccination coverage will be achieved next week,” Mia
Kontio, a chief specialist at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare
(THL), stated on Thursday.
