We are a rural, with 7 classrooms catering for Y1-8 students. Welcome to South Mākirikiri School. Our learning environment fosters a sense of belonging, values learning and expects success. We are resourced to provide digitally connected, comfortable, modern learning spaces. We all have a passion for creating an environment that brings the learning alive for every child that comes through our gates. We enjoy seeing learning happening in a variety of spaces and particularly out in the outdoor environment. Our school has amazing learning spaces and an engaging learning environment that enables students to explore and create in a wide range of curriculum areas. As a school we strive to excel beyond expectation in all areas and students are encouraged to give everything a go. We want our young people to leave our school well equipped with all the competencies and qualities to participate and contribute in their secondary education. Our community plays an active role in every aspect of life at South Mākirikiri School and we enjoy building relationships with all learners and their whānau. Nga mihi nui kia koutou. Mt Ruapehu is a prominant landmark for South Mākirikiri School. Paraikatetu is our Maunga. The furrows represent the earth around us.
