EVENT OVERVIEW

4F started in 2020 with the aim of revitalizing the financial industry. This
year’s theme is “RECONNECT”.
After three years of reduced opportunities to meet face-to-face due to the
pandemic, the world has finally seen the return of activities that allow people
to see each other face-to-face. We put a wish in the word ”RECONNECT” to connect
with people again through activities that bring people together.

The first three days from Mar.6th-8th will be held online. We will broadcast
keynote speeches and panel discussions. On March 10, the last day of 4F, JFIA
Award Ceremony, FINOPITCH and various lectures will be held at the venue. After
FINOPITCH, we also have a social gathering for participants only.
We are looking forward to your participation. Watch it ! Join us ! If you
purchase a venue ticket, you can also watch the delivery from Mar.6 to Mar.8.

Requirements
– Must be a FinTech startup.
– Must have products/services available for demonstration.
– Must agree to the contents of the entry form.
– In principle, the Finalist are asked to pitch on site in Tokyo on Mar. 10,
2023. But depending on the travel situation, we may discuss for the alternative
presentation method.

Founding Date / Service Launch

– The startup company should be founded within the past 5 years or less and the
service should be released within the past 2 years or less.

– The startup company should be founded within the past 7 years or less and the
service should be released within the past 3 years or less, with the aspiration
to enter Japan market.

Pitch Format
7 minutes presentation in English including demo of the product /service.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

CONDITIONS

 * The applicant needs to be a FinTech startup.
 * The product/service need to be demonstrated.



FOUNDING DATE / SERVICE LAUNCH

 * Entry within Japan
   The startup company should be founded within the past 5 years or less and the
   service should be released within the past 2 years or less. If the service
   has not yet been released, a demonstration should be ready by end of 2020.

 * Entry from outside of Japan
   The startup company should be founded within the past 7 years or less and the
   service should be released within the past 3 years or less, with the
   aspiration to enter Japan market. If the service has not yet been released, a
   demonstration should be ready by end of 2020.



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

 *  You need to agree to the conditions on our application form.



PITCH FORMAT

By 7 minutes video presentation in English including demonstration of the
product / service and presenter.

* Applicants selected from initial evaluation are required to submit video for
final presentation by 2021-02-05 (Fri)

MESSAGE




REBOOT（再起動）の意義と「4F」の内容につきまして

みなさま、こんにちは。Head of FINOLABの柴田です。

本来、金融分野におけるイノベーションを象徴するはずであった「FinTech」という言葉の認知度が最近急速に上がったものの、それだけでわかったような気になる一種の思考停止ワードとなりつつあるのも事実です。今回副題に掲げている「REBOOT＝再起動」は、そうした状況を打破し、様々な挑戦を行おうとしている皆様に新たな出発点を見出していただきたいという願いをこめて、メインテーマとさせていただきました。

当初は丸ビルホールでの大規模な開催を想定していましたが、最近のコロナウィルス感染拡大対策のため、「4F」は3日間にわたってオンラインで開催させていただきます。イノベーションの重要性を提唱する我々としては、中止や延期ではなく、各種制約のなかで最善をつくすことこそが新しい挑戦につながると考えるに至りました。

初日は、FinTech分野において世界的に有名なChris
Skinnerさんをお招きし、技術進歩とともに金融の世界がいかに変化をとげているのか論じていただきます。また、この1年間に世に出た金融領域におけるイノベーティブな商品やサービス、ビジネスモデルや協業モデルを表彰する「Japan
Financial Innovation Award（
JFIA：ジャパン・フィナンシャル・イノベーション・アワード、以下JFIA）」によって、最新のベストプラクティスを認識していただき、それぞれの分野で「次の一手」を考える参考にしていただきます。

2日目は、金融業務が技術進歩によってどのように変化をとげつつあるのかを、日本銀行の副島さんやLayerXの福島さんなどの有識者に議論いただき、決済や資金調達の未来をイメージすることによって、新しい金融の可能性を考える出発点としていただく予定です。

3日目には、量子コンピュータといった先端技術やスタートアップにフォーカスし、金融の枠にとらわれることなく、未来の世界がどのような姿になるか考える機会としていただきたいと考えています。

閉塞感のある日々が続きますが、「4F」への参加を通じて、将来につながるアクションを考える契機になれば幸いです。
