MANAGED CARE NETWORK PRESENTED BY PRIME * Home * Research * Payer Education PRIME Education, LLC (PRIME) has a long and rich history of assessing and positively impacting the evolving educational needs of managed care professionals who are involved in value-based frameworks, benefit designs, formulary decision-making, health economics and outcomes assessment, medication management and disease management, and comparative effectiveness. Our core strength in managed care as researchers and implementers of measurable change is unique in the health care educational space and provides PRIME with unparalleled real-world data related to what, why, and how decisions are made by providers, patients, payers, and systems so that meaningful, sustainable improvements can occur. Since 1994, PRIME has served as an accreditation partner of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP). Over the years, we have developed, co-sponsored or provided accreditation partnership for numerous national and local meetings, conferences, and virtual programs with AMCP. We have also conducted over 50 continuing education symposia at AMCP’s annual conferences over 20-plus years, provided over 200 accredited programs for AMCP Affiliate chapters across the US, and partnered in dozens of live webinars and webcasts. These programs have been supported by federal agencies, member associations, commercial supporters, and PRIME to meet the needs of managed care pharmacy across rapidly evolving health care ecosystems. In 2018, we presented findings at the International Society For Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) annual meeting in Baltimore. Our scientific poster presented a conceptual model of the barriers to optimal care of patients with HIV, HCV, and HIV/HCV co-infection, as well as opportunities for improved alignment in prescribers’ and managed care professionals’ decision-making processes related to disease management. In 2017, we presented findings related to payer perceptions on patient access to therapies and barriers to optimal care, at major scientific conferences, including ECTRIMS and the AASLD Liver Meeting. At the 2016 World Congress on Continuing Professional Development, we presented findings from an extensive survey study that identified key educational needs and barriers among more than 5,000 managed care and specialty pharmacy professionals who participated in PRIME’s 2014-15 CE programs on costly chronic diseases. We have also presented scientific posters evaluating educational formats for lifelong learning among pharmacists in managed care and specialty pharmacy organizations. PRIME’s partnerships in managed care have extended over the years from health plans to PBMs to specialty pharmacy organizations, and more recently, Express Scripts, Diplomat Pharmacy, Quality Specialty Pharmacy, and other organizations committed to patient-centric stewards of health care resources. With data and insights from every aspect of our large health care network, PRIME continues to support managed care in advancing decision-making from volume to value-driven excellence.
