Yes, the Desktop application User Guide in PDF format, can be found by clicking
on the Getting Started Guide button under this FAQ tab. You can also find the
installation Instructions in Appendix A and B of this guide.

WHY DOES THE ENTERPRISE EDITION EXPIRE?

HRS Pro expires when your registration code expires. It is advisable to review
the Version Notes to ensure compliance when reporting for each state as updates
can be posted throughout the course of the year.

Enterprise edition expires once a year based on when the registration code was
purchased.
 * It will expire either June 15th -OR- December 15th.

If purchased:
 * Before 6/1, registration code will expire on 12/15 of this year.
 * Between 6/1 and 11/30, the registration code expires 6/15 of next year.
 * Between 12/1 and 12/31 of this year, the registration code expires 12/15 next
   year.

MY HRS PRO SAYS IT WILL EXPIRE SOON. WILL I LOSE INFORMATION THAT I HAVE
ENTERED, BUT HAVE NOT YET SENT TO THE STATE?

If you let the registration code expire, the system will become locked until you
renew the enterprise edition.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO RENEW THE ENTERPRISE EDITION TO AVOID EXPIRATION?

With our new online purchasing system, you can renew by invoice 30 days prior to
expiration by logging into your account and clicking on the Renew button next to
the Registration Code under the License Information tab.

However, if paying by credit card, you will not be able to renew until June/Dec
1st to ensure the expiration date is set correctly. If you are renewing by
check, you can print an invoice 30 days prior to expiration. When selecting to
pay by check, this will become your invoice; you should print this out for your
records. Make your check payable and send your check to:

Avenu SLS Holdings, LLC
100 Hancock Street, 10th Floor
Quincy, MA 02171
For all other methods of payment, please email
hrsprosupport@unclaimedproperty.com.

WHAT IF I DO NOT RENEW THE ENTERPRISE EDITION BEFORE IT EXPIRES?

The system will become locked until you renew the enterprise edition and receive
a new registration code.
Once the enterprise edition is renewed, enter the registration code
(help>registration info) and reconfigure the network path under Utilities >
Configuration and Defaults.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE SOFTWARE QUESTIONS ABOUT HRS PRO?

INSTALLATION

WHAT VERSIONS OF WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEMS ARE SUPPORTED?

 * XP
 * Vista
 * Windows 7
 * Windows 8
 * Windows 10
 * Windows 11

CAN HRS PRO BE INSTALLED ON A NETWORK WHERE MULTIPLE PEOPLE CAN ACCESS IT AS THE
SAME TIME?

HRS Pro is a local installation on each workstation. The data may reside on a
network location where multiple people can access it after purchasing and
applying the registration code in HRS Pro. Once registration code has been
entered, within HRS Pro > Utilities > Configuration & Defaults is where you can
point the data to a network location.

HRS Pro has been known to be installed on a server (this is non-typical, not a
supported environment, could be slower, sharing of memory space, and multi-user
may have issues).

WHY DO YOU NEED TO BE AN ADMINISTRATOR TO INSTALL HRS PRO?

The software and NAUPA encryption .dll files need to be written to the windows
registry. If you do not have the proper rights to modify the registry entries,
you will not be able to encrypt your unclaimed property reports for those states
that require the encryption.

I NEED TO INSTALL THE LATEST VERSION, WILL IT ERASE MY DATA?

HRS Pro is a full installation and will not delete your data. It is suggested to
have a good backup prior to downloading and installing the latest build.

After installing the latest version, if your HRS Pro asks you to create a new
user & holder, see the FAQ in the Installation section: After installation, my
data has disappeared?

I AM NOT ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE USING INTERNET EXPLORER, WHY?

In Internet Explorer..
 * Choose Tools from the Top Menu
 * Select Internet Options / Security tab
 * Notice the Internet Zone, select on top Click CUSTOM LEVEL button in the
   Security Settings window.
 * Scroll down to DOWNLOADS section, select Enable AUTOMATIC PROMPTING FOR FILE
   DOWNLOADS.

This will now visually show the FILE DOWNLOAD questions.

IS THERE ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE INSTALLING HRS PRO?

If you are already using HRS Pro, you may want to back up your data prior to
installing the latest version.

If HRS Pro isn't configured to point to a network location where the data
resides, then most likely it resides locally and isn't being backed up on a
regular basis. To create a backup of your data, first make sure the HRS Pro
application is closed.

 1. Right click on your start icon and select 'Windows Explorer'.
 2. In the directory path type: %localappdata%.
 3. Expand the HRS Pro folder. You should see a folder now called DATA. Copy
this folder and paste it in another location for safekeeping.

If you do not see the DATA folder follow this FAQ titled 'What versions of
Windows Operating Systems are supported?' for DATA locations.

INSTALLATION INTERRUPTED

There can be a number of reasons why this happens:

 * If this message is displayed during the download: try a different web browser
   and repeat the download process.
 * If the download worked, but getting this after clicking on RUN: try saving
the file first and then running it (right-click: Run as Administrator –
sometimes this is necessary even if you are the administrator to the
   machine).
 * Be sure you are installing to the same location as previously installed, that
you are a Local Administrator, and no firewall or anti-virus is blocking the
   installation.

If you cannot get it to install, you may need to get your IT involved.

WHEN LOGGING INTO HRS PRO, ALIAS OR MAIN NAVIGATOR ERROR RECEIVED

This error is typically due to insufficient rights when installing HRS Pro. Be
sure that you have full local Admin rights to install to the Windows Registry.
If you are installing HRS Pro on a server you will likely receive this error.

HRS Pro is a local installation and installing on a server is not a supported
environment. HRS Pro can be configured to point to a DATA directory on the
server, but the installation should remain as a local installation.

Also, make sure the user has proper rights set at C:\Program Files(x86 if 64-bit
OS)\Wagers and Associates folder & %localappdata%\HRS Pro folder. Right click
the folder, select Properties, then select the Security tab. This user should
have both Read/Write options selected.

AFTER INSTALLATION, MY DATA HAS DISAPPEARED?

The system does not delete your data. This could be happening due to where the
DATA file resides. Prior to Windows Vista, the data resided with the
installation location and if the system was upgraded to Vista or higher the new
location is the local users data folder. Follow the instructions below as they
are written to resolve this issue.

 1. Check to see if there is a DATA folder under C:\program files(x86 if 64-bit
    OS)\wagers and associates\hrs pro.
 2. If the folder exist, right click and select cut. Then on your desktop, right
    click and select paste.
 3. In Windows Explorer (right click on the start icon, select Windows Explorer)
type this in the address line: %localappdata% look in the HRSPRO folder, do
you also see a data folder?
 4. If there is a DATA folder, rename this to TestData.
 5. The Data folder that was pasted on your desktop, move that to the
    %localappdata%\HRSPRO folder.
 6. Launch HRS Pro and see if your data is there now.
 7. If the data is correct, delete the TestData folder under the
    %localappdata%\HRSPRO folder.

Data resides on a network location:
Be sure that the Registration Code is entered and the network path is specified
under Utilities > Configuration and Defaults menu.

OLE ERROR CODE. CLASS NOT REGISTERED. OLE OBJECT IS BEING IGNORED RECORD NUMBER
#.

The cause of this could be a few things: location installation may have been in
a different location than the recent installation or certain files did not
register properly due to not installing as an administrator.

First, reinstall as an administrator that has the proper permissions to write to
the windows registry.

If reinstalling doesn't work, manually register these files with the Start, Run
entry box. This is assuming that c:\program files\wagers and associates\HRS Pro
is where the program is installed at. First, (before trying the registry
entries) check the subdirectory listed is correct. Secondly, check that a text
file can be created and saved in the HRS Pro directory. If not, there are rights
that need to be set from the "wagers and associates" subdirectory on down.

 1. regsvr32.exe C:\Program Files\Wagers And Associates\HRS Pro\ctToolBar.ocx /s
 2. regsvr32.exe C:\Program Files\Wagers And Associates\HRS Pro\ctNavBar.ocx /s
 3. regsvr32.exe C:\Program Files\Wagers And Associates\HRS Pro\ctListBar.ocx /s

ERROR: UNABLE TO OPEN 2ND TABLE OF OWNERS

This error means something has happened to the data and you will need to rebuild
the database.

 1. Install HRS Pro as an Administrator that has the proper rights to write to
    the windows registry.
 2. Launch HRS Pro. If still receiving error go to step 3, do not skip this step
as if something should happen during step 4 your data can be lost.
 3. Create a backup copy of the existing DATA and LOCAL folders. Try locating
the data folder using windows explorer. Look first in C:\Program Files(x86
is 64-bit OS)\Wagers And Associates\HRS Pro\DATA. If that folder is empty or
does not exist, look in %localappdata%\hrspro\data (you can type this in the
address line in windows explorer). Once you locate the data folder, make
sure the files in the data folder are not read-only and Write/Read are
checked under security for that folder (right click on folder, select
properties, and then select the security tab). If you using the Enterprise
edition your data may reside on a network drive.
 4. Then from your computer's Start menu select All Programs > HRS Pro > then
click on hrs_rebuild. Follow the directions when completed.
 5. Try launching HRS Pro again.

FATAL ERROR: EXCEPTION CODE=C000005. ERROR LOG FILE: C:\PROGRAM FILES(X86 FOR
64-BIT OS)\COMMON FILES\MICROSOFT SHARED\VFP\VFP9ERR.LOG

HRS Pro is written in Visual FoxPro 9. Are you installing to the default
location? This error usually occurs when a copy of the VFP runtime files are
installed in the wrong location, typically \Windows\System32. When the app
starts, it loads the VFP runtime in the correct location (\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP) and the runtime then looks for its resource file
(VFP9ENU.DLL). It finds that file in \Windows\System32 because that's the first
place it looks, and since that DLL doesn't match the run time (for example, the
runtime in \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP is VFP 9 SP1 while
the resource in \Windows\System32 is VFP 9 RTM), you get this error.

RESOURCE FILE VERSION MISMATCH FOLLOWED BY VISUAL FOXPRO CANNOT START. COULD NOT
LOAD RESOURCES.

This error is rare and usually occurs when a copy of the VFP runtime files are
installed in the wrong location, typically \Windows\System32. What happens is
that the app starts, it loads the VFP runtime in the correct location (\Program
Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP) and the runtime then looks for its
resource file (VFP9ENU.DLL). It finds that file in \Windows\System32 because
that's the first place it looks, and since that DLL doesn't match the run time
(for example, the runtime in \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP is
VFP 9 SP1 while the resource in \Windows\System32 is VFP 9 RTM), you get this
error.

The solution is to delete any VFP9*.* files in \Windows\System32.

Also do a search of the users 'C' drive for these resource files: FoxUser.dbf /
FoxUser.fpt. If you find either of these resource files do the following:

 1. Close HRS Pro
 2. Delete FoxUser.dbf
 3. Delete FoxUser.fpt
 4. Restart HRS Pro

If these steps do not work, try loading HRS Pro on another workstation as this
is an environmental specific issue.

GETTING ERROR: CANNOT CREATE SUBDIRECTORY C:\USERS\NAME\LOCAL
SETTING\APPLICATION DATA\HRSPRO AFTER INSTALLING HRS PRO

In Regedit, see what the value says for Local App Data in this location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell
Folders

It should be set to %USERPROFILE%\appdata\local, most likely it is set to local
setting

Once updated, you will need to reboot your computer

GETTING MESSAGE: IT APPEARS HRS_PRO_EXE IS RUNNING FROM DESKTOP AREA...

...'looking at the path of C:USERSNAMEDESKTOP. This program could create
unwanted files if run from an improper area. Running the install program of
hrs_pro_setup will put this program in the proper area.'

HRS Pro should not be installed on the desktop. You will need to uninstall HRS
Pro and install to the default location which is: c:\program files (x86 for 64
bit)\wagers and associates\HRS Pro.

DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED LATEST VERSION, BUT IT STILL INDICATES OLD VERSION

Things to check for:
 * Make sure you are installing to the previous location
 * That you have proper Admin rights to install and write to the Windows
   Registry
 * Make sure Firewall or Antivirus isn't blocking the installation
 * Try a different web browser

If you are still having issues, contact your IT to assist you further.

IMPORTING DATA

WHAT FORMATS CAN I USE TO IMPORT MY UNCLAIMED PROPERTY INFORMATION INTO HRS PRO
DESKTOP APPLICATION?

A Template has been provided that can be filled in and imported back into HRS
Pro.

 1. HRS Pro Template Spreadsheet can be found within HRS Pro. Click on the
Utilities menu, select Import Data and then look for the link to 'Open Excel
Template File'. Once you click on the link the spreadsheet will open in
    Excel.
 2. It is recommended to SAVE the template with a new filename in order to
preserve the empty template for future import processes.
 3. Template MUST also be SAVED AS a “Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 Workbook” (which
has a limitation of 16,384 rows) or “CSV (comma-delimited)” (which has no
limitation of rows. (Only Excel .xls (or .CSV) properly imports, .xlsx is a
compressed file that does not import).
 4. For CSV File Import, choose .XLS Spreadsheet Template as the template file
    type.
 5. Do not edit the CSV file. If corrections need to be made open the .XSL file,
edit as needed, then save as .CSV file (replace existing file).

MY UNCLAIMED PROPERTY DATA IS IN AN EXCEL SPREADSHEET. CAN I IMPORT MY
SPREADSHEET INTO HRS PRO?

No, you would need to copy and paste your unclaimed property data into the HRS
Pro Template Spreadsheet provided in HRS Pro.

Note: copy each column by column. Only paste VALUES so that the column formats
do not change (such as text, date, numeric formats). Maintain the order of the
columns in the HRS Pro Template Spreadsheet. Column widths need to be
maintained. Do NOT enter return characters or line wraps in comments or
addresses.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IF I RECEIVE AN IMPORT DATA VALIDATION ERROR: LAST
TRANSACTION DATE REQUIRED FOR ALL PROPERTIES, BUT THE LAST TRANSACTION DATE IS
ENTERED IN THE TEMPLATE?

A new version of the import template is available (updated February 2020), for
build date 2020.220.1122 and after.

Please Open Excel Template File and copy the data to the new spreadsheet. Please
note, column T is now used for DELETED SHARES and the subsequent data elements
shifted to columns U through DB.

If you import a template and receive a validation error: LAST TRANSACTION DATE
required for all properties, and you have entered dates for all properties in
column A then you may be importing an old version of the import template.

Please follow the instructions above or insert a column after S – Reported
Shares, column T should now be blank, save and re-import.

CAN I IMPORT THE NAUPA FORMATTED FILE BACK INTO HRS PRO?

No. The NAUPA file that is generated is meant for import by the state to which
you are sending the report to. There is no import process back into HRS Pro.

ERROR MESSAGE 'FILE CONTAINS FIRST OWNER(S) WITH NO LAST NAME'

 1. Check there is a first owner lastname in column AD.
 2. Check that there is NO TOTAL ROW at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
 3. Check that the 3rd column has no values.
 4. Check for excessively wide addresses or comments and abbreviate if possible.
 5. Check for carriage returns or wraps in addresses or comments and remove
    these.

If you are still getting the error message, recheck that you are saving your
template spreadsheet as an Excel .XLS (5.0/95 workbook), or save as a .CSV
(comma-delimited) file.
If you are unable to resolve the problem, try copy/pasting just a few rows from
your existing template into a new template and then importing into a new
datatset. Keep doing this until you run into the error. You will need to delete
the test datasets you have created.

ERROR MESSAGE ABOUT INVALID DATE

 1. Check that there are no empty dates.
 2. Check that date format should look like 3/14/1998 in cell format.
 3. Check that the SSN field does not start with a letter.
 4. Check that the zip code field does not start with a letter.

ERROR MESSAGE ABOUT SPREADSHEET CONTAINS NO VALID DATA

You are probably using Excel 2010 or greater. Please save your template
spreadsheet as an XLS - 5.0/95 workbook or .CSV file.

ERROR MESSAGE OF TOO MANY ROWS

The 5.0/95 version of Excel is limited to 16,384 rows. If you need to import a
template with more rows save as a .CSV (comma-delimited) file.

HOW DO I DELETE A BAD IMPORT AND RE-IMPORT THE SPREADSHEET TEMPLATE?

Delete the bad import by deleting the dataset. Create a new dataset and
re-import the spreadsheet template into the new empty dataset.

HOW CAN I ENSURE THAT PROPERTIES AND OWNERS IMPORTED CORRECTLY?

After import, check property and owner details on random properties. Do the
Verification process that is in the Data Output area and see what errors show up
to determine if you need to fix state specific codes for property types, owner
types, and owner relations before considering it a final import.

WHAT IS THE COMMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS TAB IN THE SPREADSHEET TEMPLATE?

The Comments and Instructions tab in the spreadsheet template explains the
corresponding NAUPA spec field, what the data field type is, the format of the
field, and any additional comments or instructions for that field.

TRYING TO IMPORT SPREADSHEET, HRS PRO STOPS WORKING.

Try saving your spreadsheet as a Workbook 5.0/95 and then try importing it
again.

WHERE DO I FIND THE PROVIDED SPREADSHEET TEMPLATE?

While in HRS Pro, under Utilities > Import Data. Click on 'Open Excel Template
File'.

USING THE DESKTOP APPLICATION

IF I PURCHASE THE DESKTOP ENTERPRISE WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO MY OLD DATA FROM THE
RETIRED FREE VERSION?

The Desktop Enterprise is the same application as the retired free standard
edition. By purchasing the enterprise edition, you are provided with a
registration code that unlocks a few additional features. Your data will not be
replaced, it will remain as it currently is.

I'M NEW TO HRS PRO, WHAT IS THE QUICKEST WAY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT TO DO?

Review the HRS Pro How To User Guide (step-by-step beginner's guide), in PDF
File format.

Review the HRS Pro Help within the Desktop application.

It may also be very helpful to view Frequently Asked Questions and Version
Notes.

HOW DO I MOVE HRS PRO FROM AN OLD COMPUTER TO A NEWLY INSTALLED COMPUTER?

These instructions are for when the DATA resides locally and should be followed
exactly as they are written or they will not work.

 1. Install HRS Pro on the new computer (be sure and install with administrative
    rights).
 2. Open HRS Pro while logged in with the account that will be running the HRS
    Pro software.
 3. Add a new user and new holder when prompted. This creates a DATA directory
and all tables at %localappdata%\HRSPRO for Vista, Win7, Win8, and Win10
    operating systems.
 4. Close HRS Pro.
 5. Copy the DATA folder from old computer (the whole folder, not just the
contents of the folder) and replace the current DATA folder on the new
    computer: %localappdata%\HRSPRO.
 6. Have the user log into HRS Pro. This should show contents that were copied
    from the old computer.

***Do not copy other subdirectories other than the DATA directory from the old
computer***

HOW DO I CONFIGURE HRS PRO TO POINT THE DATA TO A NETWORK LOCATION?

Once you enter the registration code (Help > Registration Info) on the
workstation you want to transfer the data to a shared network drive, this code
allows you to configure within HRS Pro a shared network location. To configure
HRS Pro to point to a shared network location select the Utilities menu,
Configuration and Defaults, then on the Alternative Data Path field (defaults to
\DATA if empty) click on Change.

The HRS Pro software when seeing an empty subdirectory being pointed to, will
ask about copying the local data to the location specified. When this location
is entered, all users will be able to access the data once the network location
is configured on each workstation.

For each workstation that will be accessing the same data will need to have the
registration code entered, and then network configured as above. Once a data
directory resides on the network, you will not be prompted on the additional
workstations to move the data, you will just enter the network location.

WE HAVE DATABASES ON MORE THAN ONE COMPUTER AND WOULD LIKE TO COMBINE THEM. CAN
I MERGE MULTIPLE DATABASES TOGETHER?

Yes, you can access the Merge Document in PDF format, at this link: Merge
Databases

Be sure to read the document in its entirety before performing the merge process
as this process is technical in nature and should require someone with technical
understanding. Please consult with your IT department for further guidance when
performing the merge process.

http://www.wagers.net/hrs/pdf/Merge_Databases.pdf

HOW DO I SAVE MY WORK?

HRS Pro automatically saves your information while using the program. However,
many screens have a SAVE option that must be clicked before proceeding entering
data in another screen.

COLORADO DEDUCTIONS NOT WORKING.

Check these things:
 1. Owner state is CO. In the spreadsheet template this would be owner 1's
    state.
 2. The comments are not really long in the spreadsheet template.
 3. Empty out any values in Column C, Property Category in the spreadsheet
    template.

HOW DO I BACK UP MY DATA?

Data resides locally:

HRS Pro gets installed at the C:\Program Files(x86-if using a 64 bit OS)\Wagers
and Associates\HRS Pro. However, the DATA (Vista, Win7, Win8, Win10) is
installed by default on the local machine at: %localappdata%\HRSPRO\DATA.
Windows XP the data resides here: C:\Program Files\Wagers and
Associates\HRSPRO\DATA. Since most times your local system does not get backed
up, you would need to manually back up the DATA folder and save it to a
different location.

Data resides on a network location:

When configuring HRS Pro to point the data to a network location, the data then
can reside on a network drive where there is generally a backup scheduled.
Therefore, the data would automatically be backed up based on your IT policy.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BACK UP MY DATA FOLDER?

That depends on how much you are using it. Best practice is to back it up after
each long editing session.

MY COMPUTER CRASHED, HOW DO I GET MY DATA BACK?

If HRS Pro has not been configured to point the data to a network location, most
likely you have not performed a data backup. If you have a backup of your data
follow the instructions as they are written below:

If you have a backup of your DATA.

 1. Download and install HRS Pro onto another working computer as an Admin.
 2. Start HRS Pro with the login account of who will be using HRS Pro.
 3. Create a User and Holder (or Company) as prompted which creates all the data
    tables.
 4. Copy the backup DATA folder and replace the existing DATA folder at
    %localappdata%\HRSPRO\DATA location.

If a backup cannot be found, look for possible backups of the DATA folder by
searching for "HRS.DBC" in the most likely network drives. If you cannot find a
backup, there is no way to recover the data.

HOW DO I SET THE MARGINS FOR THE OWNER LETTERS?

Set the top margin to a larger number in the screen right before printing the
owner letters to a printer.

HOW DO I EDIT, ADD OR DELETE INFORMATION ON THE OWNER LETTERS?

Owner letters can be edited by doing the following:
 1. Click on Utilities menu.
 2. Click on Configuration and Defaults menu.
 3. Click on the Owner Letters tab.

I CANNOT ADD AN OWNER.

You must SAVE the property information first.

HOW DO I SHARE DATA THAT WAS INPUT PREVIOUSLY ON ONE COMPUTER?

Instructions:

 1. Install the latest version of HRS Pro, if needed on the computer that has
    previous year's data.
 2. Prepare an empty subdirectory on the network drive, in an area that all
    users will have read/write rights.

IMPORTANT: Do the computer with the most data first, completing #3,4,5.

 3. Enter the Registration code in HRS Pro, top menu choice of Help, About.
 4. Enter the path to that empty subdirectory in HRS Pro, Utilities,
    Configuration screen.
 5. Respond YES to copy all data over to that empty subdirectory.

Repeat steps 1, 3, 4 on the other workstations that will be sharing the data.

IS HRS PRO ABLE TO SEPARATE RECORDS THAT ARE CURRENTLY REPORTABLE AND EXCLUDE
THOSE THAT ARE NOT DUE?

Currently, HRS Pro is not set up to determine dormancy period and what is
escheatable to the states. However, you can create separate DataSets to control
when these properties are reported, etc.

GETTING 'INVALID PATH' WHEN USING HRS PRO

If you have logged into HRS Pro and this message displays: 'The Data path in HRS
Pro, Utilities, Configuration is invalid', most likely someone has moved the
Data on the network to a different location.

RECEIVING ERROR #12

If you are receiving an Error #12 it is from trying to import a custom template,
which used to be an SDF type. This version has not been supported since June of
2012 when the template was updated. Recently, we have done some extensive
database and template updates which has caused this custom template to stop
working.

The only supported method for importing data into HRS Pro is using the
spreadsheet template that is provided for you within HRS Pro. Since the provided
template has very specific formatting, users will copy and paste just the values
into the template within HRS Pro, and then import the template into a new
dataset. NOTE: when pasting, be sure to right click and select the option
'Values' only.

RECEIVING ERROR #13

Error 13 is due to mineral interest state missing in the mineral interest
section. The only states that accept mineral interest details within HRS Pro are
OK, AR & TX. All other states would not have the mineral interest defined. Make
sure you are using the latest template within the software or it will cause
validation errors.

To resolve this error you can either edit each property record by adding the
state to the mineral interest tab or correct the spreadsheet template (using
latest version) by entering the state for the mineral interest and then
re-import into a new dataset.

RECEIVING 1104 ERROR

Error 1104 (Error reading file X:\data location on network\hrs_props (or another
name).dbf.) This error is most likely due to trying to write the data to the
network location and that location is running out of space.

CAN I MERGE DATASETS TOGETHER?

DataSets cannot be merged together. You can use the export feature under the
Holder Reports menu 'Export'. This will allow you to export the report as an CSV
or XLS file type. Then you can use the spreadsheet template and copy/paste the
data content into the correct column on the template from each report exported.

After you combine the data into the new template, you can create a new DataSet
and import the template.

DATA OUTPUT

WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENT FILE EXTENSIONS OF .HDE AND .TXT FOR DIFFERENT STATES?

HRS Pro creates two different types of the NAUPA II files based on state
requirements:

 1. .HDE

The .HDE file is an encrypted secure file produced for states that have the
ability to accept the encrypted files.
 2. .TXT

The .TXT file is a standard text file for those states that do not have the
    ability to decrypt the files.

HRS Pro knows which file extension should be assigned to each particular state.
All states accept the NAUPA II format.

Prior to June 2019 the non-encrypted file was saved as a .HRS file. This was
changed to .TXT to avoid problems with renaming the file extensions for states
that do not accept .HRS files.

HOW CAN I SECURELY SEND MY .TXT FILE TO A STATE THAT DOESN'T ACCEPT THE .HDE
FILE?

You may choose to utilize a program like WinZip in which you can password
protect the .TXT file. If you do this, do not send the password in the package
with the CD or floppy. Contact the state you are reporting to for the best
delivery method and providing them with the password.

DOES THE NAUPA FILE GET SENT TO THE STATE AUTOMATICALLY?

No. After creating the NAUPA file a message will display for those states that
accept an electronic upload directly on their state's website. Otherwise, if no
message is displayed you must read the requirements to determine how to send
your report to the state, visit the state's website, or contact the state
directly. Do not assume by sending a report to one state it is done the same way
at another state as each state has different requirements

WHY CAN'T I OPEN MY NAUPA FILE?

The purpose of an .HDE file is to securely lock the NAUPA file by encrypting the
data which could have Personal Identifying information in it. The state you are
reporting to has the ability to decrypt and load the file as necessary.

HOW CAN I BE SURE THAT NAUPA FILE IS CORRECT?

The detailed and summary reports can be printed after creating the NAUPA file
which is an exact representation of the data that is being submitted to the
state.

WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THE REVISED NAUPA II ELECTRONIC REPORTING STANDARD FORMAT?

Click on the link below to download the NAUPA Revised (NAUPA II) Electronic
Reporting Standard (in PDF format).

http://www.unclaimed.org/uploads/resources/52/naupa-format-revised-9-26-13-new-relationship-ownership-codes-final-correct1.pdf

HOW DO I CHANGE THE .HRS FILE TYPE TO .TXT?

Locate the NAUPA file with the extension of .HRS. Right click on the file name
and select RENAME. Replace .HRS with .TXT.
