A computer zip file works this way, compressing a file in a way that it can be
opened or unpacked back into the original file. In a lossless codec, nothing is
thrown away, the data is simply packed tighter, so it’s in a smaller package. A
lossy codec means some of the data is thrown away in the file shrinking process.
Broadly, there are two kinds of codecs, lossy and lossless.

We need something, a codec, to crunch the several terabytes of the entire film
down to something more manageable. A Bluray disc holds roughly 50 gigabytes, and
this needs to contain the entire film. For example, a best quality, uncompressed
version of the trailer for The Amazing Spiderman comes in at 500 gigabytes.
Codecs exist to shrink a movie or music files down to a more manageable size.

I did learn a few things about using the dock and setting up some things in
Finder. It gives good information on the basic stuff. In short, I guess maybe I
should have purchased "OS X Secrets of the Pros," if there is such a book,
because this book didn't have what I was looking for personally. What I was
hoping for was a book that would share some good, practical info for exploiting
OS features, utilizing the dock more efficiently. I'm a recent Windows convert,
and I have used computers since the 1980's, so I'm already comfy with the
basics. When trying to install Snow Leopard, some people are having a problem
where the installer will not recognize the current boot drive as a valid
destination for Snow Leopard.I bought this book hoping to learn more of the nuts
and bolts of OS X. When the drive is selected, the installer claims the system
cannot boot from the drive.Īpple discussion poster " redpola" writes: Instead,
it will display the drive with a yellow triangle on it, indicating something is
wrong with that drive. I am asked where to install Snow Leopard. Selecting the
disk tells me 'Mac OS X cannot be installed on Macintosh HD, because this disk
cannot be used to start up your computer.' Rebooting and attempting an install
direct from CD yields the same results." Only one disk is available - my boot
disk. This problem happens because the Snow Leopard installer detects a small
discrepancy in the partition table of the drive, and assumes booting off the

Utility" from the "Utilities" menu and perform the following steps: To do this,
boot from the Snow Leopard DVD and select your language. Resize the partition by

So much worth the little e xtra money for peace of mind and to save my
investment of fertile eggs!!! Will update if hatch doesn't progress
satisfactorily. The digital temp and hygrometer are spot on every time I check
it. There were a few not fertile, but so far the others are progressing nicely.
Have 18 turkey eggs, 6 silkie and a few bantam eggs in it. I bout this incubator
after much research and also an independent temp and hYgrometerr. Read reviews
later that people were having trouble with the accuracy.

I should have known not to trust the dial. NOTE: It is recommended that you

in the bator when humidity dropped below 70%. There is no outside water filling
station should humidity drop at lockdown. It comes with the easy-view door and a
3018 thermometer. It does not have the digital command center. The humidity
trays were a bit scary to figure out because with geese its so critical humidity

Someone gave me this incubator it in good shape but before I put money in it to
fix it up can someone tell me anything about this model good, bad,any. Its tight
for turning so often but its ok. The incubator comfortably will hold 18 goose
eggs. I ordered two of these to hatch out Sebastopol Geese Eggs witch are very
hard to hatch.
