MISTI for short. Its simple hinge design provides consistent stamping for the novice or experienced crafter. It will accommodate both cling mount and clear stamps. MISTI will provide a platform for multiple stamp techniques—stamp positioner, lining up die cuts and stamps, registration, etc. It offers the ability to use magnets to help positioning. MISTI is laser printed, saw cut, flame polished and hand assembled. Variance 0.0625 inches. Bottom is rubber so the MISTI will not slide on work surface. This second version of the Original MISTI has rounded corners, molded rulers, offset lid for easy opening and closing, a space for the bar magnet and more. Box includes Misti tool with Laser-etched grid, sheets of grid paper and bar magnet. Approximate size is 8.125 x 10 x 0.5 inches Proper care of MISTI is important. Wipe away excess ink from ink pads right away (especially permanent inks.) Do not allow ink to sit on the lid over night. Gently wipe the lid. Do Not scrub or scratch. Novus Polish (sold separately) is recommended for cleaning. Note: Neodymium magnets are very brittle and very strong magnetically. Handle magnets with extreme care to avoid personal injury and damage to the magnets. Fingers can be severely pinched between attracting magnets. Magnets can chip and/or break easily. Because of their brittle nature, magnets will not be warrantied, replaced, returned or exchanged. Recently I bought the Creative Corners tools and they don't work with my Tim Holtz tool. So I purchased the Misti. It is slightly bigger and will work with my larger stamps much better. I should have just purchased the Misti to begin with. But...glad that now that I am getting one, I am getting the 2.0 version. Nice improved features. It seems like a lot of money for one tool, but....not if you use it every day and on every card. Then it is a good investment. Any one want a used Tim Holz tool? "PROBLEM WITH NEW 2020 MISTI" May 12, 2021 by Renee RENEE'S REVIEW: Let me begin by saying I am not criticizing Simon Says Stamp. They are a wonderful company. This is a product review. I purchased the new model 2020 version regular size Misti in December 2020. Within a week of using it, two of the hinges snapped off of the cover. Thinking I had not purchased from a reputable seller, I decided to order another of the same 2020 version from Simon Says Stamp in January 2022. The same thing happened, almost immediately after using the new one. I contacted SSS customer service and they were wonderful and responsive. They had contacted the Misti company and was advised to have the customer contact them directly, which I had already done several times, with no response. I tried again with the email provided by SSS. After three emails and detailed descriptions, with photos, still no reply from the Misti company. I am beyond frustrated. I have owned the old version of the Misti for years, without any problems. I feel there is a hinge design flaw with the new version. I have read several other reviews online from other crafters who had the same experience with the new version. So now I own two useless, broken, nearly new 2020 Mistis. Not to mention being out a lot of money! I'm extremely disappointed and will never purchase another Misti product. Simon Says Stamp is not at fault and their customer service is great. I dont always get a crisp stamp with acrylic blocks and can never get precisely realigned if I need to but with the MISTI it is so easy to get a great impression. And if I dont get ink covering all my stamp, it is great to be able to restamp and be confident the impression will exactly align on my card stock with my first attempt. Love it! BUT, recently I have been getting less than good stamping. I struggled & struggled until I finally looked at the lid. It has a dimple in it about the size of one of the round magnets. That's a new development. Now, I am of an age that pushing too hard shouldn't be an issue. Storage is in a shallow drawer. So, This review is mostly just FYI in case you start to have problems.
