EVISA NOTICE

The Republic of Kenya has fully automated the issuance of visa with effect from
January 1, 2021. All visa applications must be made online on www.evisa.go.ke

IN THIS REGARD, ALL PASSENGERS TRAVELLING TO KENYA FROM COUNTRIES THAT REQUIRE
VISAS TO ENTER KENYA SHALL BE REQUIRED TO APPLY AND OBTAIN EVISA BEFORE BOARDING
AN AIRCRAFT AS NO VISAS WILL BE ISSUED ON ARRIVAL.


WE ADVISE THAT YOU APPLY FOR THE VISA AT LEAST A WEEK BEFORE THE PROPOSED TRAVEL
DATE. THERE IS NO EXPRESS ISSUANCE OF VISAS AT THE MOMENT.

Holders of passports from the following countries require a referred visa and
have to apply for the Evisa at least 8 weeks before the proposed travel date:

Afghanistan, Armenia, Democratic Republic of Korea (Formerly N.Korea), Iraq,
Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan, Yemen, Stateless
Nationals as well as well as those holding Travel Documents issued to Refugees
and Asylum Seekers.

Applying for evisa to visit Kenya involves three simple steps:

1. Create an account at www.evisa.go.ke

2. Fill the application form, upload the requirements and pay using a
Master/Visa credit or debit card (Not EC Card)

3. Once the status reads ISSUED, click on the visa reference to download the
eVisa PDF from your account.

 * Single Entry Visa for Kenya
 * Courtesy/Diplomatic Visa
   
 * East Africa Tourist Visa
   
 * Multiple Entry Visa (Processing time is up to 6 weeks and only for proven
   frequent trips in a calender year)
 * Transit Visa
 * 5 Year Multiple Entry Visa for USA citizens only

 Kindly Note that the Embassy is not the issuer of evisas. For any issue with
your evisa, you have to contact Evisa directly through their telephone contact
details given above.


COVID 19 TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR KENYA


1. Currently, arriving passengers into the country are required to be in
possession of a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or a negative PCR-based
COVID-19 test result, conducted not more that 72 hours before departure.

NB: Vaccination means having received the prescribed doses of the specific
vaccine, with the last dose administered, at the least, 14 days before arrival
(not including the day of vaccination).

3. Travelers below the age of twelve (12) years shall be exempt from the
requirements of a vaccination certificate or PCR test.


4. Any traveler above the age of twelve (12) arriving at any point of entry with
no proof of vaccination or a PCR test or those with flu-like symptoms shall be
subjected to a rapid antigen test at their own cost of 30 USD. Any person who
tests positive on antigen RDT will be subjected to entry PCR test at their own
further cost of 50 USD and self-isolate as per MOH guidance on isolation.


5. Any traveler arriving at any port of entry into Kenya with flu-like symptoms
will be required to fill the passenger locator form on the ‘jitenge’ platform:
https://ears.health.go.ke/airline_registration/ and to undergo rapid antigen
test at own cost regardless of age or vaccination status. If positive on antigen
test they will be required to undergo a COVID-19 PCR test own cost.


6. Passengers traveling out of the country, will be required to abide by the
particular travel, health and COVID-19 related requirements of the transit and
destination country


7. Pre-departure RDT or PCR testing may be considered at the discretion of any
of the airlines departing from or terminating in Kenya.
